The Story

 The Story is a condensed version of the Bible in chronological order. 

 In its 31 chapters, you are led through the story of God who always

 calls his people back to himself. Next Sunday Pastor Rick will begin a

 series of messages from The Story. Included in this study will be not 

 only the Sunday messages, but devotional studies, music, and DVD’s

 featuring Randy Frazee.

 You will also have two opportunities to discuss the Chapters of 

 The Story on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm. Rev. Scott Crane and

 Pastor Rick will lead these studies entitled “CONNECT THE D.O.T.S

 (Disciples of The Story)”. You will also be able to study the chapters

 in your own devotions using the study questions provided.

 So join us as we immerse ourselves into a year

 of putting ourselves in God’s Story.

Please pray for wisdom as we seek to grow the Crossing Community beyond the Club 3:16 families.

• As another year of Club 3:16 draws to an end this week, we thank and praise God for the many volunteers that come help out each week. We are thankful for the opportunities to minister to the youth that attend. 
• Remember Pastor George in your prayers as he continues with his cardio rehab, and regains his strength. We pray for him as he develops ways to reach the neighborhood families. We pray for activities already in the plans for summer “block parties” and other ways to reach the neighborhood.
• We pray for Heather Dood as she undergoes surgery this week.
• Pray today for Deb Kleymeer and Sally Herrema as they continue to heal following knee surgery. 
• We pray that volunteers will come forward to help with VBS and for the children that will attend.

IN APPRECIATION – I want to thank all of you for your prayers

 and cards following my surgery. A special thanks to Pastor Rick, 

 Bill Tacoma, and Fay & John De Jong for their visits and calls. It is

 truly wonderful to be a part of this Grace family of God!

 Dear Friends, Thank you for the prayers for Juel and I. They have

 been especially appreciated and effective. This past week I began

 Cardio-Pulmonary Therapy at level 2 right away because of your

 prayers.

 I learned, when I met with our family doctor this (Thursday)

 morning that my heart is very healthy. I'm able to control my blood

 pressure with only an 1/8 of the medication that I used to take! He

 explained the cause of my upper body soreness and that it will take

 time to heal. Our doctor is a person of faith and we can share the

 many ways God has watched over Juel and me during the past few

 months.

 The doctor also determined my schedule to return to Connections.

 Hallelujah! This week (4/30) = some office work for a few hours.

 Next week (5/7) = begin a limited amount of office hours. The doctor

 will monitor my progress and gradually increase my time. I still

 must be cautious to stay illness free and avoid physical contact.

 Please pray for continued healing and patience as I anxiously look 

 forward to a complete recovery. ~Pastor George

 Reformed Church on Leonard, NW - April 22 through May 27.

 small household items to the boxes at church. Second Chance is

 supported and operated primarily by volunteers and stocked

 completely by donations. This store provides high quality clothing at

 low cost and the funds that are collected are reinvested into the city's

 NW neighborhood through various ministries, projects,

 organizations, and programs.

We ate yummy lasagna, salad, bread, and AMAZING pie... talked about the coming year and expectations.. and had a hilarious time acting Bible principles with VERY random props!

IN APPRECIATION - Juel and I would like to thank you for all your

 prayers, visits and cards of encouragement and support that we

 received before, during and since surgery. We have been blessed.

 The diagnosis, surgery and recovery have all been nothing short of

 miraculous and evidence of God's healing hand. I should be able to

 join you shortly but will understandably be cautious as I continue to

 heal and recuperate. ~Pastor George

 upon the sudden death of her son Dennis on Wednesday, April 18 at

HEALTH CONCERNS – Janet Yonkers moved to the Heartwood

 Lodge, 18525 Woodland Ridge Dr., Spring Lake, MI 49456 following

 surgery to repair her broken hip. She handled the move well and is

 improving each day. Please keep Janet and her family in your

IN APPRECIATION - Our heartfelt thanks to our Grace church

 family for your prayers, cards, expressions of condolence, and other

 deeds of kindness extended during the illness and recent death of

 our brother/brother-in-law, Norman Ver Merris. Much

 appreciation. In answer to prayers, our sister in law, Doris

 Ver Merris, after being seriously ill and hospitalized several weeks,

 is now recuperating at home. As a result of the illness there is a

 vision problem. Hopefully it will be treatable. Please continue to

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Shirley De Bruin

 and Ruth Ver Merris and families upon the death of their brother/

 brother-in-law, Norman VerMerris, Saturday, March 24 at the age of

80. Funeral Services were held on Friday at the Metcalf-Jonkhoff

 Funeral Home in Grand Rapids.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who signed up to be PRAYER

 PARTNERS for the 12 of us who are on the MISSION TRIP IN

 CHIAPAS MEXICO. We really appreciate your prayers each day! 

 In the past we have sent postcards to our prayer partners while we

 were gone, but we will not be doing that this time due to postage

 being about $1 for a postcard and the length of time for delivery

 being up to 4-6 weeks. However, we will share our experiences and

 thanks in emails and after we return. Thank you again for your

 prayers.

LENTEN BREAKFAST – Beverly Reformed Church Women’s

 Ministries have invited us to join them in their annual Lenten

 Breakfast on Wednesday, March 28 at 9:30 am at their church,

 (WAR) an organization that advocates against human trafficking and

 a 2 week rotation!! Still in need of Teachers for Cooking and Science

OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of March is designated for

 the GEMS Organization. Our girls have had a great year and will

 celebrate with an Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, March 21^st. All

 family and friends are invited to attend the ceremony! We will

 celebrate GEMS Sunday on March 25. The special offering will be

 received on that day!

GRACES 3RD ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT will take place

 and pastors is scheduled for THIS SATURDAY, March 3, 2012

 from 9AM till 4 PM at Fair Haven Ministries in Hudsonville. The

 keynote speaker is Dr George Hunter III, and his topic is ‘Church

 Growth Reconceived for a New Generation’. Workshops in a variety

 of areas will provide practical help in your local church. You must

• Please keep Rita Oppenhuizen, mother of Pastor Rick, in your prayers. She was able to leave the hospital and is now at Maple Creek. Pray for encouragement and strength.

Toilet Paper COLLECTION for FNOW- Toilet Paper is

 Once again needed at Family Network of Wyoming! During the

 next month we will have boxes at the entrances to our church

 where you can drop off toilet paper. Currently, a family is given 1

 roll of toilet paper when they come to get food at the pantry once a

 month. We would like to double that amount! If 50 families gave

 24 rolls, we would have 1,200 rolls of toilet paper to give to the

 pantry…..can YOU help make this become a reality? Thanks!

 Devotional Booklets that we have available here at Grace will be free

 of charge. At the present time we pay for those. “We are doing this

 because we would rather have people support our ministry with

 voluntary donations than buy something from us. We want to build

 relationships, not business transactions. So we are eliminating the

 subscription fee to bring our devotional in line with the rest of our

 Bible study literature.” Our collection for Words of Hope was

 scheduled before we received their notice, so even more reason to

 give generously! This offering will be received on Feb. 26.

• We praise God today that he is “Our refuge and our strength” – Thank Him that He is an “ever-present help in times of trouble”.
• We pray today for the Zondervans as they prepare to add a new member to their family. We pray for safe travels as they are currently in China. Pray that the transition will go well for all.
• Please keep Rita Oppenhuizen, mother of Pastor Rick, in your prayers. She has been hospitalized at Metro with possible congestive heart failure.
• Remember Ethan Veldheer, grandson of Ed & Kathy De Ruiter, in your prayers as he has been hospitalized following seizures.

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3

 years – 5^th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. The kids will

 join us in the service this morning to tell us about their last rotation.

ELDERS INVITATION – If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see Pastor Rick or

 an Elder today. Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin. You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register

 as it is passed today.

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the Sanctuary

MILITARY CARE PACKAGES SENT! When Grace Church

 members get together on a project we do it "up brown"! But, this

 great project was all done in "red white and blue". Because of the

 great generosity in the giving of your monetary donations, the wide

 variety of snacks/goodies and home baked goods you donated, we

 were able to send out 8 Care Packages. My heartfelt thanks to the

 volunteer packers: Louise Grimm, Gladys Kessel, Karen Roberts,

 Joan Formsma, Sandy Gort, Phyllis Vander Sloot and Joan

 Patterson; who, with TLC, filled each box to the brim. Grace Church

 has spoken as we conveyed our love, prayers and support to our

PLEASE BE IN PRAYER FOR Ray & Robin Zondervan who will be

 traveling to China to get their new son, Nate! They will leave on

 Wednesday and return on Friday, March 2. We pray for safe travels

 and a smooth transition for the family.

OUR CHIAPAS MEXICO MISSION TRIP IS COMING SOON!

 Please sign up in the narthex to be a prayer partner to one or more

 of the 12 persons going on this trip on March 10-March 18. Would

 it be possible to have 5 persons praying for each person? We will

 give you more details of the trip before we leave so you can better

 pray for our needs. Also, right now we need all of your prayers....

 prayers for Al & Sue Schreuder and those we will be working with

 in Chiapas...prayers for all the plans being made in Chiapas as well

 a here, prayers for health for each of us, and prayers for good

 weather and safe travel.

Toilet Paper COLLECTION for FNOW- Toilet Paper is

 Once again needed at Family Network of Wyoming! During the

 next month we will have boxes at the entrances to our church

 where you can drop off toilet paper. Currently, a family is given 1

 roll of toilet paper when they come to get food at the pantry once a

 month. We would like to double that amount! If 50 families gave

 24 rolls, we would have 1,200 rolls of toilet paper to give to the

 pantry…..can YOU help make this become a reality? Thanks!

MOMENTUM - A Leadership Conference for volunteer leaders, staff,

 and pastors is scheduled for March 3, 2012 from 9AM till 4 PM at

 Fair Haven Ministries in Hudsonville. Cost is $35 for the entire day. 

 The keynote speaker is Dr George Hunter III, and his topic is ‘Church

 Growth Reconceived for a New Generation’. Workshops in a variety

 of areas will provide practical help in your local church. For details

 to attend, but are not able to come up with the finances, see Shari.

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of February is designated

 for WORDS OF HOPE. Beginning in July, Words of Hope

 Devotional Booklets that we have available here at Grace will be free

 of charge. At the present time we pay for those. “We are doing this

 because we would rather have people support our ministry with

 voluntary donations than buy something from us. We want to build

 relationships, not business transactions. So we are eliminating the

 subscription fee to bring our devotional in line with the rest of our

 Bible study literature.” Our collection for Words of Hope was

 scheduled before we received their notice, so even more reason to

 give generously! This offering will be received on Feb. 26.

Praise God for the awesome turnout for our Superbowl party. 

Please pray for wisdom as we seek to grow the Crossing Community

beyond the Club 3:16 families.

• We thank God today for all those who serve now or have served in the military. We are so thankful for the freedoms we enjoy in this country.
• We pray today for the Zondervans as they prepare to add a new member to their family. We pray for safe travels.
• We remember in prayer all those members who are ill or recently undergone surgery. 
• Today we remember Tena De Vink and Janet Yonkers in our prayers. May they feel God’s love surround them.
• We remember in prayer those who have recently lost loved ones. Today in particular we remember the Vander Sloot family.
• Please keep Curt Boes, former member of our congregation, in your prayers as he waits for a heart transplant.
• We remember in prayer the following family or friends of our members that are ill or receiving treatments: Dan De Vries, brother of Lisa Braendle; Norm Ver Merris, brother of Shirley De Bruin and brother-in-law of Ruth Ver Merris.
We pray for the final plans being made for the mission trip to Chiapas. May all plans and details come together smoothly
