TODAY AT GRACE

TODAY Pastor Rick will begin a new series of messages “Body &

 Soul”, as series on the Heidelberg Catechism. See the insert in your

 bulletin for all the details.

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George and Connections.

 

SUNDAYS AT 6:00 PM – Join Pastor Rick as he continues the

 discussion on the Heidelberg Catechism. Meet in the

CALENDAR OF THE WEEK

 

MONDAY - PRAYER MARATHON – We will hold a 24 hour Prayer

 Marathon for Shawn Keener, UCOM Program Director, who has been

 diagnosed with cancer. Sign up for a time slot and commit to pray

 for Shawn right where you are. A signup sheet is on the narthex table

 for all those who would like to participate.

 

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2013

 6:30 PM SENIOR CHOIR PRACTICE. Now is a

 great time to join the choir! New members are welcome!

NEXT WEEK, SEPTEMBER 15, 2013

FALL KICK OFF

 

NEXT WEEK Pastor Rick will continue the new series of messages 

 “Body & Soul”, with the message “Such Misery, Such a Savior”. 

 Further study will take place during the evening worship service. 

 Following the morning service we will have a PIG ROAST for all! 

 There will be the Noah’s Ark bounce house, games and prizes for

 the kids. 

 

4:00 PM Y-LIFE Kick Off! Meet at Grace to head to Cranes

 Orchard. Bring $7.00 for corn maze. Questions? See Ms. Heather.

 BIBLE STUDY for younger adults will have their first meeting of

 the fall season. Childcare will be provided!

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

LOOKING for someone to SEW curtains for the theater room. See

 Heather if you can help.

 

SIGN-UP SHEETS for Fall DISCOVERY KIDZ rotations are now

 on the Narthex table. STILL NEEDED–Leader for Games, Science,

 and two Shepherds. This is a three week rotation (Sept. 15-29).

 

TOILET PAPER COLLECTION FOR FNOW – We will continue to

 collect this week. We brought one load over when we learned they

 were completely out! Thank you all so much for your generous

 donations.

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of September is designated 

 for ACCESS (All County Churches Emergency Support System). For

 30 years ACCESS has been committed to helping those in need in 

 our community. ACCESS maintains a network of 100 Food Pantries

 and also work with congregations to provide Thanksgiving and

 Christmas Baskets, and coordinate with the larger community in

 responding to local disasters. This offering with be received 

 Sunday morning, September 29.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We thank God today for a new season of activities. We ask for prayers for God’s leading. 
  • Remember Mac Mc Alary in your prayers as well as Mary and the family. 
  • Pray for Rose Borkowski as the Doctors look for the source of her stomach pains. Also keep Anna Borkowski’s cousin, who is only 1 month old and is having some intestinal issues, in your prayers. 
  • We praise God for the good news that Rita Oppenhuizen, mother of Pastor Rick, was able to return to Maple Creek. Please continue to pray for her recovery. 
  • Please continue to keep Pastor Rick and Donna’s brother in law, Art Radlicki, of Escanaba, in your prayers. He was able to have the back brace removed!
  • Please pray for Shawn Keener who is battling cancer. Shawn is the Program Director at UCOM and we have worked closely with her during our ACCESS Food Drives here at Grace. Sign up today to be a part of the 24 hour prayer marathon taking place tomorrow. 
  • Continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents, Matt & Lindsey. 
  • Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink, Mrs. Jane Duthler, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs Miriam Schrotenboer, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.
