ELDERS INVITATION – If you have questions, concerns, joys, or
prayer needs that you would like to share, an Elder will be available
in the front of the sanctuary following the service this morning.

 TODAY AT GRACE

9:50 am – 11:15 am DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3 years –
5th Grade meet downstairs for your very own service.

TODAY we thank our GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) and
their leaders for their special part in our morning service! This
morning we will also COMMISSION those who will be leaving for
Cedar Rapids, Iowa on a WORK/MISSION TRIP. Those going on this
trip are: Phyllis and Roger Vander Sloot, Jim Mc Elroy, Les VanWyk,
Dale & Shari Dood, Della Sawyer, Elaine Martin, Jim Emelander,
Keith Benthin, and Dee Danavage.

OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the Month of April is designated for the
GEMS ORGANIZATION. This offering will be received this morning.

FOLLOWING THE MORNING SERVICE CAKE AND COFFEE will be served in
the Fellowship Hall to thank the Wednesday night volunteers!

11:30 am – 12:10 pm THE SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in
the Consistory Room. You are welcome to join them!

1:00 PM THE DISCOVERY KIDZ will be heading to Frederik Meijer
Gardens for an afternoon of fun. See Heather if you have any
questions.

6:00 PM MUSIC APPRECIATION NIGHT – This is an annual event at
Grace! All our music groups will participate as well as the choirs
from Faith. The men & women from the Veterans Home will be our
special guests. Refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall
after the service. Invite a friend to join you tonight for this
celebration!

IN APPRECIATION – Thank you Grace Church for the many prayers,
cards, and expressions of sympathy we received during mom’s final
days and homegoing. Our special thanks to Pastor Rick for his
many visits and words of comfort. We were so blessed by them and
by those that helped at her visitation, service and luncheon.

collection of items for hygiene kits for Church World Service. The
2500+ kits were shipped on April 21st to New Windsor, Maryland.

MISSION TEAM will meet to leave for the Mission Trip. They will meet
at 8:30 am and will leave by 9:00 am. YOU are invited to join the
PRAYER PILE and pray with the group before they leave!

 NEXT SUNDAY – MAY 2, 2010

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue with his series of messages to
apply the Heidelberg Catechism to every day faith. The message
next week, “I BELIEVE IN GOD’S CREATIVITY” is based on Romans
8:12-39.

 MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

MISSION/OUTREACH TEAM AND CONSISTORY – A combined meeting is
being planned for May 10. Please mark the date on your calendar.

SIGN UP TO BE A PRAYER PARTNER to one of the MISSION TEAM
MEMBERS. A sheet is on the narthex table. You can sign up as a
prayer partner to more than one participant!

DISCOVERY KIDZ SUMMER ROTATION BEGINS MAY 23RD. The summer
rotations will consist of only 3 week segments. The kids are broken
down into 2 groups: 3 & 4 years and K-5th grade. This means that for
teachers only a 2 week commitment is needed and for Shepherds a 3
week commitment. Volunteers are needed for the “Jesus Feeds
Five Thousand” rotation, which is May 23 through June 6.

S.O.S. (Service on Sunday) SAVE THE DATE - MAY 16, 3 – 5 PM for the
WESTOWN ADVENTURE. This will be a chance to explore “The Other
Way” Ministries. An interactive adventure is planned. You will have
the opportunity to see the 7 properties, hear from staff and
neighbors, get a taste of what it’s like to live, learn, work, grow, and
play at “The Other Way”, and experience firsthand the work God is
doing in Westown! We would like to know how many to plan for, so
please sign up on the sheet on the narthex table.

HELP NEEDED FOR CLUB 3:16 ON THURSDAYS FROM 2:45 – 5:00 PM.
Only five weeks remain…could you help at all or even just one day?
See or call Thom Mc Guire (318-9203) ASAP. Thanks.

VCR – We have a VCR (works, but no remote) available if anyone would
like to have it. Call the office (538-3100) if interested.

BLOOD DRIVE – Monday, April 26, 2:00 – 7:00 PM at Faith Reformed
Church, 618 – 32nd Street, Wyoming. You can schedule your
appointment with Marj Hendges (261-4846), or walk-ins are
welcome. Each donor will be asked to show photo id or two pieces of
non-photo identification.

NEEDED FOR VBS – Used or new flat sheets. You can put your donations
on at the youth desk on the lower level.

 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – MARKETPLACE 29 AD
 June 15 – 18 6:00 – 7:45 pm.

JEWISH MOTHER’S DUTIES

 Explain about Jewish Traditions
o All this material will be given to you to just read from
 Talk informally about life during Jesus time (material provided)
 Help the children decide which shops they will be attending for the day (your helper will help with this as well)
 Lead them to each area during VBS ie: Marketplace, Drama & Songs


DRAMA
 The Dramatizations will take place in the midst of the ordinary life of Marketplace to give the children a total experience.
 You will act out a short script each day of an event that happened during Jesus Time.

 We thank God for the music in this church. We are thankful for all our members who in some way share their music and talents with us.
 We thank and praise God for the freedoms we enjoy in this country. We remember in our prayers all those who fought for those freedoms.
 We pray today for our veterans and their families.
 We remember in prayer the persons going on the Mission Work Trip to Cedar Rapids, Iowa as they prepare this week for their trip.
 We continue to pray for all those recovering from illnesses, surgeries or hospitalization, or who are undergoing tests or treatments.
 We pray this week in particular for Tymie Boeve and Lucille Sytsema as they have begun their treaments. Tymie has begun radiation and Lucille has started chemotherapy.
 We pray for Jim Emelander and Luke Nordlund as they recover following knee surgery.
 We thank you God for your healing powers and love for us.
 Please pray for Sandy Farris’ father, Glenn Moore.
 Please pray also for Connie Maile, sister of Jim Emelander, who is battling cancer.
 Keep these friends and family serving in the military in your prayers: Amie Pierce, Doug Desmarais, Frank Senko, Matthew Halverson, Dave Vander Berg, Nick Borkowski.
