TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET.  All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

TODAY we celebrate as the following youth make their Profession of

 Faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior:

 We thank God for this Day and for the commitment of these young

 people.  May God continue to guide and bless them as they grow and

 serve. 

 

WE WELCOME our newest missionaries Jeff & Chelsea Lampen who

 will be serving in Romania.  Romania is a new field for the RCA. Jeff

 and Chelsea have been appointed to work with the New Horizons

 Foundation, an outreach to youth in Romania.  Jeff and Chelsea

 graduated recently from Western Theological Seminary and will be

 pursuing ordination in their respective classes. The Lampens have a

 daughter, Lorelei, who will be accompanying them to Romania.

 Jeff spent one year serving the Roma in Hungary, with the Hungarian

 Reformed Church, and Chelsea spent three months in Romania

 serving and getting to know New Horizon's work with youth through

 educational and community development models of engagement.

 

OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of April is designated for

 the MANASSEH PROJECT.  This is an outreach ministry of

 Wedgewood Christian Services and is dedicated to ending the sexual

 exploitation of young men and women in West Michigan.  Through

 community education and collaboration and Wedgewood’s Manasseh

 Project Trauma Recovery Center, they provide support and

 specialized residential treatment services for victims of trafficking

 and empowers the people of West Michigan to end modern day

 slavery.  This special offering will be this morning. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory Room following the morning service today.  This class

 covers various subject matter pertaining to our Christian walk.

IN APPRECIATION - On behalf of the Y-life youth group THANK

 YOU!! Our theme this past weekend was "Need to Serve". We were

 able to serve Cranhill Ranch on Saturday morning by splitting/

 piling wood in preparation for the summer. We had many very

 memorable moments. Certainly this would not have been possible

 without all your prayers and support for our youth so again thank

 you !!

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

WORLD MISSION BANKS - Donations will be used to send the

 gospel to those who have never heard through the use of “The

 Treasure”.  This is an audio Bible that is solar powered and available

 in different languages.  If you have filled your bank and would like to

 start another, please pick one up from the narthex table!  We will

 continue this collection through Pentecost, May 24.

 

PLEASE SAVE salsa size jars, tall or squatty, for a GEMS craft project. 

 You may bring them to the church kitchen.  Thanks!

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We thank and praise God today for the Professions of Faith of  Rebekah, Abby, Mary, Reece, and Brielle!
  • We pray today for Jeff and Chelsea Lampen as they prepare to serve in Romania.  We pray for safety and health.  We thank God for their commitment to the youth they will work with and witness to.
  • Thank you God for our children worshipping in Discovery Kidz. We are thankful today for all the teachers and volunteers here at Grace.  We are so thankful of their time, energy and talents.
  • Remember Heather Dood in your prayers as she begins to prepare for a very active week of VBS this summer.  We pray for those who are considering volunteering and also the neighborhood children that will receive an invitation.
  • We pray for Pastor George today as he leads Connections.  We pray for all the people that attend.
  • Please keep Wilma Kamphuis, now at Tender Care, in your prayers.
  • We pray today for Sophie Licari recovering from surgery.
  • Remember Wes Dekker’s sister, Janet, in your prayers.
