WELCOME

We are so glad to have you worship with us during this season of Lent.  During this season we are all together in need of diving forgiveness, in need of power to lead a more faithful Christian life.  Whatever led you to our church today, we believe God rejoices in having you in this place.  Please take a moment and sign your name and address on the Fellowship Register as it is passed today.

 

TODAY AT GRACE

TODAY WE CELEBRATE THE SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S

 SUPPER!  We invite all those who are members of Christ’s Church 

 and have found forgiveness of sins in Him, to participate in the

 supper.  A brief Communion Service will be held in the

 Chapel following the service for anyone who was not able

 to be present during the worship service.  If you are aware of

 someone who is not here today, but would like to receive this

 sacrament, please contact the church office.

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All kids ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

OUR SPECIALMUSIC this morning is presented by Ray & Robin

 Zondervan of our congregation.  Thank you so much for your

 contributions to our worship service today.

 

ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 an Elder today.  Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin.  You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL class will meet in the Consistory

 Room following the morning worship service.  They cover various

 subject matter using the Sunday School Guide. 

 

SUNDAYS AT SIX – We will be meeting at Grace for our evening

 service Rev. Harvey Hertz will share the message.

 

PRAYERS AND PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS: Roger Vander Sloot will undergo outpatient

 shoulder surgery on Wednesday, April 5.  Please keep him in your

 prayers as he undergoes surgery and heals.  For all other prayer

 requests and praise reports, please see the Prayer & Praise line today.

 

IN APPRECIATION: Thank you to Pastor Rick for the calls, my

 Grace family for the cards, calls, thoughts and prayers following my

 recent surgery.  A special thank you to the choir for the beautiful

 basket of flowers.  They are all very much appreciated!

 Week.  Our Senior Choir will present their Easter

 Cantata “Up From the Grave”.  See the bulletin insert

 today for Pastor Rick’s April series of messages!

 

5:00 PM - FOR OUR EVENING service on Palm Sunday we will join

 with other area churches at Calvary CRC for a Seder Supper/Passover

 Presentation.  This is a professionally done presentation about

 meaning of the Passover and how it is fulfilled in Christ. Plan to come

 to this special service!

 

DATES TO REMEMBER

 

Thursday, April 13, 7:00 pm MAUNDY THURSDAY Service

 We will be remembering the steps to Calvary through a special

 worship service.  Communion will be served. 

 

Saturday, April 15, 11:00 am – ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT

 A sign-up sheet is in the narthex for volunteers.  Needed are greeters,

 egg placers, workers at the prize tables, and workers for the craft

 table. * Candy donations needed as well to fill our eggs.

 Individually wrapped/peanut free candy.  Remember we are putting

 them in the eggs so small is great!!

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE met to consider the naming of a

 Transition Team.  Therefore, we would ask if there are any members

 of the congregation that would be willing to be considered to serve on

 this important team?  If you are interested in serving, please contact

 executive committee representative, Larry Kleymeer. 

 

UPDATED DIRECTORIES are in your mailboxes!  We are planning

 on doing a new picture directory in the fall, but until then this will

 help you with the many recent changes! 

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of April and Easter Sunday

 is designated for World Renew.  Their Mission:  Compelled by God’s

 deep passion for justice & mercy, we join communities around the

 world to renew hope, reconcile lives, and restore creation.

 

LADIES – You are invited to the LENTEN BREAKFAST at Beverly

 Reformed Church on Wednesday, April 12 at 9:30 am.  Pastor El

 Zwart will present a Lenten devotional concert that captures the

 nature of the season.  RSVP by calling the Beverly office at 532-2871

 by April 9.  You can leave a message.  There is no cost but will be a

 free will offering.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We thank God today for the beginning of new life this spring season. 
  • We praise God for his unfailing love for us.  We are also thankful for the love of family and friends.
  • We pray for safety for all those who are traveling during this spring break.  May they come back refreshed and renewed.
  • We pray today for our children in Discovery Kidz downstairs.  May they all come to know and love Jesus.  We pray for Heather as well as all the volunteers who give of their time each week. 
  • We thank God for the ministry of Connections.  We pray for Pastor George as he leads them each week and as they transition over to Calvary for their Thursday evening dinners.  We thank God for the lives that are touched by this ministry.
  • Please be in prayer for Roger Vander Sloot as he prepares for surgery on Friday. 
  • Continue to keep all those recovering from surgeries and/or undergoing therapy.  We remember Mary Huizen recovering at her daughters home, Lorie Norden, Sally Herrema, Linda Kraft, Lon Gerbers.  We are thankful for the progress they have made.
