this season we are all together in need of divine forgiveness, in need of power to lead

TODAY AT GRACE

 

TODAY WE CELEBRATE THE SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S

 SUPPER.  We invite all those who are members of Christ’s Church

 and have found forgiveness of sins in Him, to participate in the

 supper.  A brief Communion Service will be held in the

 Chapel following the service for anyone who was not able

 to be present during the worship service.  If you are aware of

 someone who is not here today, but would like to receive this

 sacrament, please contact the church office.

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET.  All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. We welcome

 the children today to our worship service to share their last rotation

 and songs.

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George and CONNECTIONS.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in

 the Consistory Room following the morning service today.

IN APPRECIATION:  We wrapped up another great Wednesday

 Night Live! I cannot thank the volunteers enough for all the time

 and commitment that was put into each meeting, activity and

 outing.  You are all a blessing not only to me but to the children of

 Grace. Thank you Pat TerBeek for over 15 years of helping with the

 GEMS - Happy Retirement!
 In addition thank you to Sandy Gort, Judy Beadle, Sue VanderWal,

 Jen Hendges, Rowin Mulder, Brian Gort, Sue & Dan Stuk, John and

 Della Sawyer.
 Let's not forget the Amazing Kitchen staff that provided wonderful  

 meals each week to us: Tymie Boeve, Joan Patterson, Joan Emaus,

 Lousie Grimm and Arlene Dekker. ~Heather Dood

 

 Thank you to my church family for all the prayers, cards, concerns,

 and phone calls following my recent surgery.  On Friday they did a

 blood transfusion that will hopefully restore some energy.  Please

 keep me in your prayers as I continue to undergo testing.

NEXT SUNDAY the Senior Choir present the Easter Cantata “PRAISE

 THE RISEN LORD!” Pastor Rick will share the message: “GIVING

 OF THE LAW”. 

 

5:00 PM A JOINT PALM SUNDAY SERVICE will be held with

 our sister churches at Beverly Reformed Church (2141 Porter,

 Wyoming).  Please note the early start time!

 

6:45 – 8:00 PM Y-LIFE will meet.  We will be finalizing retreat plans,

 so you won’t want to miss this meeting!

 

 

DATES TO REMEMBER

 

Tuesday, April 15, 1:00 pm THE ELIZABETH CIRCLE will meet in

 the Consistory room.  We will discuss Chapter 7 of the Study Book,

 Isaiah 24.  All women are welcome!

 

Saturday, April 19, 10:00 am GRACE ANNUAL EASTER EGG

 HUNT!  Candy donations to fill the eggs (think small - peanut free

 please) are still needed.  Donations can be dropped off at the youth

 desk.

 ALSO NEEDED:  Help on the day of the hunt.  Needed are 2

 greeters, 1 prize table worker, and 1 egg placer.  See the

 volunteer sign-up sheet on the narthex table.

 

Friday, April 25 - Sunday, April 27 – Y-LIFE RETREAT at Cran Hill.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

SPECIAL OFFERINGS – Our Special Offering for the end of the

 month is designated for the Gideons.  Our Easter Special Offering is

 designated for Camp Scholarships to Cran Hill Ranch or Camp

 Geneva that can assist families of our Discovery Kidz that may need

 assistance.

 

FAMILY NETWORK OF WYOMING CELEBRATION & FUND

 RAISING DINNER – Tuesday, April 15 at Faith Community CRC, 

 5250 Byron Center, Wyoming.  Punch at 6:00 pm, Dinner at 6:30.  If

 you would like to go but have not placed your reservation yet, see  

 Shari Dood today. 

 

DISCOVERY KIDZ - STILL NEEDED:  2 Shepherds for the April

 rotation. See Heather TODAY if you can help.

 

LENTEN BREAKFAST – Beverly Reformed Church invites all

 women to their Lenten Breakfast on Wednesday, April 16 at 9:30 am. 

 The program will feature Rick & Barb Gossett presenting “A Lenten

 Love Song”.  A flyer with more details is available on the narthex

 table.  RSVP by Sunday, April 13 by calling Wilma (534-9564) or

 Helen (457-8793).

 

PARKING LOT RE-CONSTRUCTION – Our parking lot is in dire

 need of attention.  If you would like to help fund this major project,

 donations will be welcomed!  Just designate “Building Fund” on your

 offering envelope.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We thank and praise God today that we may celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper together. 
  • We thank God for times of vacation, times to rest and relax and enjoy the beauty of creation. 
  • We thank God today for our many blessings.  For the blessing of family, homes, work, and a place to worship freely.
  • We are thankful for our children today.  We pray for God’s blessing on them as they worship in Discovery Kidz.  We pray for Heather as she leads them. We thank the many volunteers that devote themselves to our kids.
  • Continue to keep Phyllis Vander Sloot in your prayers as she regains strength and undergoes more testing.
  • Please be in prayer for Caitlin, friend of Abbey Licari, who was just diagnosed with Leukemia after just beating cancer last year.
  • There are many friends and family of our church members that need your prayers this week.  Please continue to pray for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey.  Also, Barb, friend of Della Sawyer, undergoing chemotherapy, Jon Stouten after being diagnosed with Crohns disease, Rose Borkowski, mother of Anna, who has discovered a tumor in her throat and Julie, friend of Anna, whose husband has brain cancer; Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer.
  • We pray for all those who are serving in the military.  Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs Miriam Schrotenboer, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.

 

As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write them down and include them in your prayers for our congregation this week. Please keep the church informed of your prayer needs and praise reports.
