9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ for kids ages 3 years – 5th

 grade meets downstairs by the youth desk.  Our fun summer theme is

 “Be a Hero for God”. 


MUSIC MINISTRY – Thank you to Michael & Elizabeth Maitner for

 their ministry of Music today.  Michael will be playing the bagpipes

 and Elizabeth the snare drum. They attend Church of the Open

 Door, and are members of the Grand Rapids District Pipe Band.


THE TRANSITION TEAM will meet in the Chapel following the

 service this morning.


PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.


SUNDAYS AT SIX – We will be meeting with our sister churches

 tonight at Faith Reformed.  Pastor Rick will share the message:

 “The Poor Gospel - The Pure Gospel:  Luke. 








 4:00 – 7:00 PM GRACE CHURCH

 Our Picnic will be held in the Maples Picnic Shelter at Hager Park,

 8134 -28th Ave., Jenison (to the left after you pass meeting buildings). 

 Games for all beginning at 4:00 pm.  Dinner served at 5:30 pm. 

 Bingo for all following dinner. Please bring a dessert for salad to

 share.  Everything else will be provided.  THERE IS STILL TIME

 TO SIGN UP, but you must do so today so plans for food and

 games can be made.  If you have any questions, please see Pat

 TerBeek, Judy Beadle, or Sandy Gort. 




NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will share the message: “A Psalm for All

 Seasons” from Psalm 23.  For our evening service we will be meeting

 with our sister churches at Faith Reformed at 6:00 pm.





Monday, August 21, 6:30 pm ELDERS MEET





HEALTH CONCERNS: Ken Wylie returned home on Tuesday

 following hip replacement surgery.  Please continue to be in prayer

 for Bill Ver Hulst.  He was readmitted to Blodgett after a fall at home. 

 He had been doing much better and was able to return to his home

 prior to the fall.  For all praise reports and prayer concerns, see the

 prayers and praise line in your bulletin today.




OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of August is designated for

 Camp Geneva.  This offering will be received August 27. 


CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM - Have you always wanted

 to try leading the children's Christmas program? Well here is your

 opportunity. I am looking for someone who would like to walk beside

 me and work with the children and youth for this year’s Christmas

 Program. I do have a program selected so I would just need your

 creativity, enthusiasm and love for children. Please see Heather if you

 are interested or would like more details.

Prayers & Praise Line

Congregational Prayers and Praise


  • Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s presence and guidance as Pastor Rick and Donna go through these days of transition. 
  • We are so thankful today for summer camps such as Cran Hill Ranch and Camp Geneva.  We pray that all the kids that attend summer camp will grow to know Jesus better and have a closer walk with Him.
  • We remember in our prayers our Discovery Kidz as they go through the summer months.  We pray for fun times, discovery, and a closer relationship to Jesus. 
  • We pray for Heather as she prepares for Discovery Kidz sessions, fall events, and her final exams as she works toward becoming a Commissioned Pastor.
  • We pray for Pastor George and Connections. We pray for the youth and adults that attend each week.  We pray for them as they continue to grow and expand.  We pray for their block parties that are taking place in the neighborhoods.
  • Please pray for the Transition team as they continue their work.
  • Keep Jerry Hendrickson in your prayers.  We pray for complete healing and strength.
  • Continue to keep Bill Ver Hulst in your prayers.
  • We are thankful to God that Ken Wylie is home from the hospital and doing well.
  • Please continue to keep Tom Cook and his family in your prayers.
