THIS MORNING we welcome Rev. Cecil Martens who will lead the service
and share the message. Join us at 6:00 pm tonight at the Crossing.
Darrell Delaney will share the message and give an update on the
Alaska Youth.

CHILDREN & WORSHIP
Children ages 3 & 4 years meet in Fellowship Hall with
Worship Leader Darrell Delaney and helper Kia Delaney.
Children K – 2nd Grade meet in the choir room with
Worship Leader Sandy Farris and helper Matthew Farris.

HEALTH CONCERNS – Kathy De Ruiter returned home following hand
surgery Friday, August 17. Curt Boes was expected to return home
following hospitalization earlier in the week. See the Prayers &
Praise Line in your bulletin today for prayer concerns and praise
reports.

IN APPRECIATION – My sincere thanks for the prayers, cards and the
personal visits both at home and in the hospital. I am doing well.
I thank God for His faithfulness. It is great to be a part of the
Grace congregation! ~Stan De Witt

 MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS


PASTOR RICK & DONNA will be on vacation through August 23rd. In the
event of an emergency, please contact your Caring Shepherd, Elder,
or call the church office.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS BROUGHT COOKIES for our Sunday
fellowship time. Don’t forget to pick up your containers from the
kitchen downstairs.

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of August is designated for Hope
College. As of this year, this is not in the budget…Hope College will
receive whatever is collected in this special offering on August 26.

CLUB 3:16 & SUNDAY SCHOOL VOLUNTEER TRAINING MEETINGS will be
held August 29th at 12:30 pm and September 6th at 6:30 pm. Food
will be provided. The new Child Protection Policy will be explained
at this time. See Nikki Probst or Darrell Delaney if you have any
questions.

A CHILDREN & WORSHIP APPRECIATION DINNER and C & W TRAINING
SESSION for all current leaders and helpers and those who are
interested in joining this team in the coming year will be held
Tuesday, September 11. Dinner will begin at 6:00 pm with the
Children & Worship training session from 7:00 – 8:00 pm. Please
RSVP to Heather Dood (534-1794) by September 5. Following this
meeting the Child Protection Policy will be explained to those who
have not yet attended a Child Protection Policy meeting.

NOTE: CHILD PROTECTION POLICY - Everyone planning on being
involved in children/youth work at Grace must attend one of the
meetings on the Child Protection Policy.

ELEMENTARY SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED! If anyone is
interested in helping out our elementary Sunday School, please let
Darrell know. Our fall programs will be upon us shortly and we have
very few volunteers so far. There is a sign up sheet in the narthex.
Let’s work together to be a blessing to our kids! Thanks!

MID YEAR CONTRIBUTION STATEMENTS are in your mailboxes. If you
have any questions, see Jayme Dood, Treasurer.

VIS (VOLUNTEERS IN TRAINING) EVENT – If anyone would like to attend
the VIS Leadership Training Event which is to be held Thursday,
September 27 from 7:00 – 9:45 pm at Brookside CRC, please pick up
a copy of the workshop details on the narthex table. The cost of the
event, $20 will be paid by church if needed but we do encourage you
to pay this (if you are able) up front, or in your giving to the church.
Please respond by turning in your application to Shari by Sunday,
Sept. 16, so we can get the reduced rate.

SUMMER BLOOD DRIVE - ST JOHN VIANNEY CHURCH will be hosting a
Summer Blood Drive on Wednesday, August 22 from 4-8 pm. Call
Sandy at 724-3129 for an appointment or for more information.
Walk in donations are also welcome.
