TODAY we welcome Artist, Mic Carlson, creator of the painting

 “The Guardian Angel” that hangs in our Consistory Room. This

 special painting was generously donated by the Cook Foundation

 to our church. See the insert in your bulletin for more information

 on Mr. Carlson.

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George and the new church start. All are welcome.

NEXT WEEK, AUGUST 26, 2012

 

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the series of messages

 “WORLD CLASS CHRISTIANITIY” with the message:

 “LITERATURE, ETHICS, AND PHILOSOPHY”. 

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of August is designated 

 for TALKING BIBLES (Missionary Paul Hoekstra). The mission of

 Talking Bibles is to serve the Lord Jesus Christ by producing audio

 recordings of translated Scriptures in hundreds of languages and

 making these recordings accessible in the form of Talking Bibles for

 millions of people around the world who cannot read. This offering

 will be received next week.

 

A meeting with all Club 3:16 volunteers will be held next Sunday after the morning service.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

THE SEPTEMBER SCHEDULE FOR DISCOVERY KIDZ is on

 the narthex table. We will be continuing with “The Story”. Only a

 one week commitment! Thank you for your continued support!

 Note: No Discovery Kidz on September 2.

 

The FALL KICK-OFF of our fall programs will be held on Sunday,

 September 16. Lunch will be served after church. There will be

 games and fun for the kids! Wednesday programming will begin on

 September 19. More information to come!

 

BELONGING NEW MEMBERS CLASS – For those who have

 shown an interest in membership here at Grace, a class will be

 offered in September. This class will explore what it means to belong

 to Jesus Christ and His church. More information is available on the

 narthex table.

Church Plant Prayer Focus

 

 The next Block Party is for Plas, Hubal, and Kentfield, west of Grace,

 on THURSDAY!. We invite the people of Grace to join Shari Dood for

 a prayer walk there TODAY after church. Simply get a cup of coffee,

 grab a cookie, and meet Shari by the front door. Walk if you can, or

 drive through, and pray (with your eyes openJ) on your way home.

 

  • Pray that we will build relationships of trust with the families.
  • Pray that we share freely the change God has made in our lives.
  • Pray that entire families will be touched with the good news.
  • Pray that as a result new families join in God’s plan for Connections.

  • We thank and praise God today for the beauty of His creation. We thank and praise God for the many talented artists, singers, musicians, etc.

 who share their faith through the talents they have been given.

  • We pray today for continued healing and strength for Joan Patterson and Jim Herrema.
  • We remember in prayer the following family or friends of our members that are ill or receiving treatments: Lola De Young, Curt Boes, Dan De Vries.
