TODAY we will commission our Director of Children & Youth, Darrell
 Delaney and our new Community Outreach Director, Nikki
 Probst.  We welcome their friends and family to this special service
 today.  We thank Keysha & Keonna Patterson, Tishana Delaney,
 Ashanti Edwards, and Rev. James Pitman for their part in our service.

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will lead us in worship. 
 
THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of August is designated for Local
 Outreach at Grace.  Funds are needed to offset Vacation Bible
 School and Fiesta Reunion costs.  We were able to reach 184 children
 with the Gospel this year and we had many parents here for the
 dinner on Friday, but with increased numbers,  meals, and events
 comes increased cost, so we are presenting this need to you!  This
 special offering will be received next week.
 
PRAYERS & PRAISE
 
HEALTH CONCERNS –  Bill Tacoma underwent surgery on Friday at
 Blodgett Hospital.  Gladys Kessel will undergo knee replacement
 surgery on Tuesday at Blodgett.  See the Prayers & Praise Line
 inserted in your bulletin today for all the Prayer Requests and Praise
 Reports.
 
 
IN APPRECIATION – Once again, thank you to everyone who made our
 Fiesta Reunion Wednesday night such a great success!  We were
 able to share Jesus with 49 children…wow, God is good!  A special
 thank you to Nikki and Pastor Rick who helped me pick up the
 pieces of the planning stage of Fiesta in Darrell’s absence.  Please
 continue to pray for these children who are so hungry to learn of
 Jesus.  Pray that we as a church will continue to minister to them.

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
VOLUNTEER DINNER  - Anyone interested in learning about volunteering
 with Club 3:16 or as a Gladiola Elementary school tutor is invited to
 join us at the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on September 5th at
 7:00 PM.  This is a time to celebrate our volunteers from last year as
 well as to give you an opportunity to find a place to get plugged in to
 the excitement of this year!!! Please let Nikki know if you plan to
 attend. 
 
SCHOOL SUPPLIES DONATIONS - We are continuing to collect school
 supplies for the month of August.  The goal is to fill 5 boxes and we
 are already halfway there!!! Keep up the great work and continue to
 bring in items to help kids be prepared for this coming school year! 
 
ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?  THE ALASKA CHALLENGE THAT IS!
 On July 21 – 31, 2007 a group of Grace Reformed Church high
 school students, college students, and adults will be traveling to
 ALASKA for a Spiritual & Leadership Development trip.  Adults
 are invited to meet with the Youth on Sunday, September 10 at
 7:00 pm for a mandatory informational meeting.  If the need arises
 we will try to have an additional meeting that week.  Please see Shari
 Dood or Ray or Robin Zondervan for further information.
 
MEN!  A group from Grace will be attending the PROMISE KEEPERS
 CONVENTION September 15 & 16 at the Van Andel Arena.  There is
 still room for YOU! 
 
THE NEXT GALAXY will soon be published.  Articles are due August 22nd
 Survey for the Galaxy…what is your all time favorite sandwich!  Drop
 off your articles and favorite all-time sandwich info in the bin
 attached to the file cabinet in the main office.

· Paul Elder, a 17 year old youth from Club 3:16, was sentenced this week to 3-1/2 to 30 years in prison.  Keith has been with him & will continue to visit him.  Please keep Paul and his family in your prayers through this very difficult time.
