OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Doug & Amy Grimm and
family upon the death of Amy’s mom, Judy Noel, on Friday, August 8
at the age of 63. Services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 12 with Pastor

of sympathy and kindnesses shown following the loss of my mom.

STEAK & SHAKE, 5477 Clyde Park, Wyoming. Steak & Shake will
donate 20% of what we spend on this day. All you have to do is bring
in the voucher show it to your server, and everything on your bill will
be counted toward the 20%. You can purchase Steak & Shake gift
cards with a voucher and receive the 20% as well! Give these
vouchers to your friends and family! Extra copies of the vouchers are
available on the narthex table.

VOLUNTEERS: Children & Worship Appreciation evening! Please
join me on this evening as I say “thank you” for all you’ve done and
go over the new schedule for fall. Desserts will be served - save room!
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9 – WOMEN’S NIGHT OUT – All those who reserved
their ticket will see the play “Church Basement Ladies”. Plan on
dinner prior to the 7:30 pm show!
CHILDREN & WORSHIP – Looking for individuals willing to worship with
our children. We need your help this fall to keep our children
worshipping God in their own setting. Looking for those willing to
teach the Bible stories and helpers to monitor the children. If you
were involved in C & W last year, there is no need to sign up unless
something has changed as you will be put on the schedule
automatically. Also, needed is someone who is creative to
help set up the crafts. Please contact Heather Dood (534-1794)
if you have any questions.
NEEDED! VOLUNTEERS willing to run the PROJECTOR SYSTEM on Sunday
mornings on a rotating schedule. If you have computer knowledge
we can train you to run the projector system! We will hold a training
session so you will feel comfortable doing this! See Jim Emelander
or Sue Stuk if you would consider serving in this way or if you have
OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of August is designated for
WESTERN SEMINARY. This offering will be received on Sunday,
September 7 (not the usual last Sunday of the month).
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for ELEMENTARY CLUB on Thursdays this fall
from 3:30 – 5:30 pm. Sign up in the narthex or see Kia for more
SCRAPBOOKING – We will once again be meeting at the Crossing on the
3rd Friday of the month from 7 – 10 pm to scrapbook! The first night
is Friday, September 19th. Invite your friends to come along
SCHOOL SUPPLIES! Thank you for all you have done already! So here’s
an update! The sewn school bags that are going to RCWS (many
countries) is complete in that we now have enough supplies to fill
over the 200 bags that have been made! Our GEMS will fill the bags
with these school supplies as a service project! (If any sewers of
these bags have not told Shari how many they will be finishing,
please do so right away). Now all school supplies that are coming in
are going to the “Class Act Backpack Drive” that WCSG is sponsoring
(some of these will go to our own Club 3:16 kids). We must have
all supplies turned in by this Tuesday at the latest.
LEADERSHIP TRAINING EVENT - Thursday, September 25, 6:00 - 9:30 pm.
Volunteers in Service is putting on a workshop for anyone who
wishes to improve their leadership abilities. Many workshops are
available. If you are interested, please pick up a brochure from the
table in the narthex and turn it in to Shari before Sept. 14. Your
registration fee will be covered.
UNINTENTIONAL INTOLERANCE – Dr. Steve Robbins a powerful storyteller
with a powerful story to tell will inspire people and challenging the
way they think about the world. This work shop will take place on
Sept. 12 & 13. See Darrell for more information.

• Those who have recently lost loved ones
• Jack Formsma who is hospitalized
• Carole Lankheet, Jan Higley, Carolyn Baker, Karen Ver Hulst as they
undergo treatments or heal following surgery or hospitalizations
• Lucille Bosma, mother of Judy Klein, as she recovers from recent
surgery after breaking her hip in a fall
• Rick & Laura Marshall as they go through the adoption process
