TODAY AT GRACE
THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of August is designated for Hope
College. As of this year, this is not in the budget…Hope College will
receive whatever is collected in this special offering.
MINISTRY OF MUSIC – Thank you to Darrell Delaney for providing the
ministry of music this morning. Thank you also to Janet & Ellie
Dekkinga. Janet will be our guest pianist tonight and Ellie will play a
special number. (Janet is the daughter and Ellie the Granddaughter
of Bill & Ruth Tacoma.)
CHILDREN & WORSHIP
Children ages 3 & 4 years meet in Fellowship Hall with
Worship Leaders Jennifer Elkowitz & Erika Wigent.
Children K – 2nd Grade meet in the choir room with
Worship Leaders Heather Dood and Darrell Delaney.

service at Grace next week.

Tables will be set up in the fellowship hall with details and DINNER
will be served!
Wednesday, September 12, 9:00 am - The THESSALONIANS BIBLE STUDY
group will meet in the Consistory Room. Beginning in October this
group will meet on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 9:00 am.
Saturday, September 15, 2:00 pm GOLF OUTING - The Fellowship Team
is planning a golf outing on at the Pines Golf Course. Following golf,
dinner will be served on the back deck. Please bring a salad or
dessert to pass. Don’t golf? - Just come for dinner and fellowship!

Friday, September 21, 7:00 – 10:00 pm SCRAPBOOKING NIGHT at the
Crossing. Everyone is invited! Mark you calendar – the 3rd Friday of
each month will be designated for scrapbooking at the Crossing!
CLUB 3:16 & SUNDAY SCHOOL VOLUNTEER TRAINING MEETINGS will be
held Wednesday, August 29th at 12:30 pm and Thursday, September
6th at 6:30 pm. Food will be provided. Pick the meeting time that
works best for you! The new Child Protection Policy will be
explained at this time.
A CHILDREN & WORSHIP APPRECIATION DINNER and C & W TRAINING
SESSION for all current leaders and helpers and those who are
interested in joining this team in the coming year will be held
Tuesday, September 11. Dinner will begin at 6:00 pm with the
Children & Worship training session from 7:00 – 8:00 pm. Please
RSVP to Heather Dood (534-1794) by September 5. Following this
meeting the Child Protection Policy will be explained to those who
have not yet attended a Child Protection Policy meeting.
NOTE: CHILD PROTECTION POLICY – Everyone, including High School
Youth and older, planning on being involved in children/youth work
at Grace must attend one of the meetings on the Child Protection
ELEMENTARY SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED! If anyone is
interested in helping out our elementary Sunday School, please let
Darrell know. Our fall programs will be upon us shortly and we have
very few volunteers so far. There is a sign up sheet in the narthex.

MID YEAR CONTRIBUTION STATEMENTS are in your mailboxes. If you
have any questions, see Jayme Dood, Treasurer.
THE NEXT GALAXY will soon be published. Articles are due by
September 5 to Sandy Gort, Pat Ter Beek, or you can place them in
the bin attached to the file cabinet in the main office.
NEEDED: Twin bed with mattress and box spring. Call the office
(538-3100) if you have one to donate.
VIS (VOLUNTEERS IN TRAINING) EVENT – If anyone would like to attend
the VIS Leadership Training Event which is to be held Thursday,
September 27 from 7:00 – 9:45 pm at Brookside CRC, please pick up
a copy of the workshop details on the narthex table. The cost of the
event, $20 will be paid by church if needed but we do encourage you
to pay this (if you are able) up front, or in your giving to the church.
Please respond by turning in your application to Shari by Sunday,
Sept. 16, so we can get the reduced rate.
