Whatever led you to our church today, we believe God rejoices in having you in

TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ for kids ages 3 years – 5th

 grade meets downstairs by the youth desk.  Our fun summer theme is

 “Be a Hero for God”. 

 

MUSIC MINISTRY – Today we welcome Ruth & Judy Estell to our

 service.  We thank you for sharing your talents with us today!

 

OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of August is designated for

 Camp Geneva.  This offering will be received this morning. 

 

ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 an Elder today.  Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin.  You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.

 

FOLLOWING THE SERVICE today, please check in with Heather

 who will be set up on the patio with a list of volunteer positions

 available for our fall activities.  Please check it out and see where you

 can fit in!

 

PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

SUNDAYS AT SIX – We will be meeting with our sister churches

 tonight at Faith Reformed.  Pastor Rick will share the message:

 “God Acts Up: ACTS Part I & II”. 

 

PRAYERS AND PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS: Bill Ver Hulst was admitted back into

 Blodgett Hospital on Wednesday.  Please continue to keep him in

 your prayers.  For all other praise reports and prayer concerns,

 see the prayers and praise line in your bulletin today.

 

IN APPRECIATION - I would like to thank my church family for the

 many prayers and cards received while I was in the Hospital and at

 home. I would also like to thank Pastor Rick for his visit. I'm still

 having some issues, however I hope to see you all soon.  ~Ken Wylie

Sunday, September 10 – SUNDAY FALL KICK OFF!  Pastor Rick

 will begin a new series of messages based on the theme:  “First Love”. 

 Y-Life will kick off with a special meeting.  The Adult Sunday School

 Guide class will meet following the morning worship service.

 

Wednesday, September 20, 6:00 pm WEDNESDAY NIGHT LIVE

 BEGINS!  Also this will be the first day for our afterschool program

 at the Crossing. 

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

WOMEN’S MINISTRY – Looking for a leader/organizer for a new

 Women’s Ministry group at Grace for women post high and beyond.

 This group would meet once a month.  If you would be interested in

 being a leader/organizer, please see Heather.

 

A SEARCH COMMITTEE assigned to look for a new Pastor for Grace

 is being formed.  Please see or call (534-0528) John Sawyer if you

 would be interested in being a part of this committee.

 

LADIES…FAITH REFORMED CHURCH is inviting you to join

 them for a morning coffee break Bible Study.  This will begin on

 September 7 at 9:30 am.  If interested, please contact Mindy at

THE OTHER WAY MINISTRIES is celebrating 50 years of ministry

 on the Westside of Grand Rapids!  You are invited to join them at

 their 50th Anniversary Worship Celebration on Tuesday, September

Prayers & Praise Line

August 27, 2017

 

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • As school begins, we ask that God be with our children and help them to meet the challenges of each day.  We pray for their teachers, assistant teachers, bus drivers and all those who they will come in contact with each day. 
  • We are so thankful today for summer camps such as Cran Hill Ranch and Camp Geneva.  We pray that all the kids that attend summer camp will grow to know Jesus better and have a closer walk with Him.
  • Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s presence and guidance as Pastor Rick and Donna go through these days of transition. 
  • We pray for Heather as she prepares for Discovery Kidz sessions, fall events, and her final exams as she works toward becoming a Commissioned Pastor.
  • We pray for Pastor George and Connections. We pray for the youth and adults that attend each week.  We pray for them as they continue to grow and expand and begin a Sunday worship service in the Chapel.
  • Please pray for the Transition team as they continue their work.
  • Continuing prayers for Bill Ver Hulst as he is hospitalized.
  • Keep Jerry Hendrickson in your prayers.  We pray for complete healing and strength.
  • Continue to keep Ken Wylie in your prayers following hip replacement surgery.
  • We lift up Rick Marshall’s brother, Matthew, in our prayers.  He is in serious condition following a car accident this past week. 
  • Remember in your prayers Roger Vander Sloot’s brothers.  His brother Mel was recently diagnosed with cancer and brother Virgil is dealing with dementia.
  • Also, Jonathan Stouten, nephew of Pastor Rick, is hospitalized again with complications of Crohns disease.  Please keep him and his family in your prayers. 
  • Please continue to keep Tom Cook and his family in your prayers.
  • Please continue to remember our Grace members and members of their families who are in need of healing, comfort, and strength.  Esther Hoag; Char Otto; Shirley De Bruin; Brent Kerkstra, son of Paul;  Janet, sister of Wes Dekker; Lana, granddaughter of Ken & Cindy Wylie.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris, Mr. Jim Friar.
