in the front of the sanctuary following the service this morning.

 TODAY AT GRACE

TODAY we welcome Randy Bohl to our worship service. Randy is the
Director of Church Relations for Words of Hope. He will share with
us during the Mission Report this morning. OUR SPECIAL OFFERING
for the month of August is designated for WORDS OF HOPE. “In
keeping with Christ’s statement of purpose, at Words of Hope our
mission is to build the church worldwide. We do that primarily
through broadcasting. We were founded in 1945 by congregations
of the RCA seeking to expand their witness over the radio. Today,
through a network of partnerships with churches and organizations
around the world, we produce and air over 100 programs in 30
different languages each week.” Christian broadcasting is especially
important in places where religion, politics, geography or economics
restrict Christian witness. Radio can reach across these barriers,
forming bonds that could not exist otherwise. This special offering
will be received this morning.

WE WELCOME into the Membership at Grace, Tinna VanWyk
(3235 Peshtigo Dr., Grandville). Tinna comes by Transfer from Hope
Christian Reformed Church of Grandville. Tinna also will present
our ministry of music. We thank you and welcome you into the
church family at Grace!

CHILDREN & WORSHIP
All Children ages 3 years – 2nd Grade will meet together
through the summer months in the Fellowship Hall.
Worship Leaders this week are Gracia Class and Sue Stuk.

CONSISTORY MEMBERS – There will be a meeting of all Consistory
members immediately following the service this morning.

TONIGHT AT 7:00 PM THE AFRICAN CHILDREN’S CHOR will be
performing at Roosevelt Community CRC (811 Chicago Dr. SW,
Wyoming). The African Children’s Choir is made up of some of the
neediest and most vulnerable children in their countries. Many have
lost one or both parents to poverty or disease. The African Children’s
Choir helps these children break away from the everyday cycle of
poverty and hopelessness. This concert will replace our regular
Sunday evening service. If you would like to carpool, see Pastor
Rick this morning. Note the time of service is 7:00 pm!

 PRAYERS & PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS – Janelle Nordlund had outpatient surgery this
past Thursday. Christy Kleymeer will have surgery on Tuesday to
remove the rest of her Thyroid. See the Prayers & Praise Line for
all prayer requests and praise reports.

IN APPRECIATION – Thank you to the Grace congregation for all the
prayer support before and after my surgery on Tuesday. I thank
God for the successful surgery. A special thank you to John De Jong
for his chauffeuring help! ~Ron Lankheet

PASTOR RICK AND DONNA will be on vacation from August 31 –
September 7. If a need arises, please contact your Caring Shepherd,
Elder, or call the church office and we will contact them for you!

 NEXT SUNDAY – SEPTEMBER 6, 2009

NEXT SUNDAY Rev. Harvey Heneveld will lead our morning service and
share the message “WORKING…AS CHRISTIANS”. We will not have
an evening service at Grace next week due to the holiday.

 SPECIAL DATES TO REMEMBER

Sunday, September 13th will be CHURCH PLANT DAY. It is our prayer that
this day will provide all the information you seek concerning the

narthex for you to place any questions you may have concerning the
possible church plant. Each week these questions will be answered.

 MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

GRACE CADETS will soon begin their fall season. If you are interested in
helping with this program at Grace for boys in grades 1-8, please
contact Heather or Jayme Dood ASAP. The Cadets meet on the
1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month.

WEDNESDAY DINNERS will begin on September 16 when we kick off our
fall programs. EACH WEDNESDAY dinner will be available. In
order for this to happen every week, many volunteers are needed.
Would you be willing to be on the “Kitchen Committee” to lend a
hand in the preparing, serving, or cleaning up after these dinners.
We would like to have enough volunteers that a schedule of once a
month, or a rotating schedule can be put in place! See Tymie Boeve
or call her at 531-5700 (home) or 538-3100 (church) if you would be
willing to help.

SIMPLY GIVE – The Meijer Store near Rivertown Mall has named the
Family Network of Wyoming as the recipient of their Simply Give
Program. In the area just prior to entering the checkout lanes, you
will notice a Simply Give kiosk. On it you will find our pantry name
and a Simply Give $10.00 card which you can use when you check
out. Your $10.00 donation will be converted into a Meijer gift card
and given to Family Network. They will then be used to purchase
special sale items and stretch your gift as far as possible to help needy
families. In addition, Meijer will donate up to a total of $100,000.00
to help participating food pantries as they restock their shelves. If
you are a Grandville Meijer Store shopper and are willing to help in
this matter they would be very grateful.

THE NEXT GALAXY will soon be published. If you have an article you
would like to submit, please do so by Wednesday, September 2. You
can place your articles in the bin attached to the file cabinet in the
main office or contact Pat Ter Beek or Sandy Gort. Thanks!
