We joyously welcome you to Grace. Let us join together
in celebrating the goodness of God, and singing songs
of joy before our creator. Please take a moment and
sign your name and address on the Fellowship Register
so we can get to know you better!

 TODAY AT GRACE

THIS MORNING we welcome Rev. Cecil Martens who will lead our service
and share the message. Thank you Pastor Martens for being with us
this Lord’s day.

CHILDREN & WORSHIP will not meet this week or next. Children &
Worship will kick off the fall season on September 14th.

OUR MINISTRY OF MUSIC this morning is presented by Don Mc Dougall.
Don is a former member of our congregation. Thank you for sharing
your testimony in song with us today. Thank you also to Paula
Sullivan for playing the organ for us today!

4:30 PM - In place of our evening service we will go together in the vans
to Sandy Pines to hear the Collingsworth Family. Meet at church!

OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of August is designated for
WESTERN SEMINARY, to apply directly to tuition assistance for Darrell
Delaney’s schooling that will begin in September. This offering will
be received NEXT Sunday (not the usual last Sunday of the month). 

 PRAYERS & PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS – Sheryl Steensma underwent knee surgery on
Thursday. She is expected to be hospitalized for about 3 days.
Jack Formsma was able to return to his home and will begin
therapy after having a stroke. See the Prayers & Praise Line for all
prayer concerns & praise reports.

IN APPRECIATION – Crossroad Bible Institute would like to thank Office
Volunteers, Ron & Barb Engels, for their faithful service equipping
the church to disciple people in prison. God has used their work in
the CBI office to change lives. We, at CBI, thank God for their
passion and dedication to reaching “the least, the last, and the lost”
in the name of Christ Jesus, our Lord.

transferred to Faith Reformed Church of Wyoming.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 4:00 – 9:00 PM YOUTH FUNDRAISER at
STEAK & SHAKE, 5477 Clyde Park, Wyoming. Steak & Shake will
donate 20% of what we spend on this day. All you have to do is bring
in the voucher show it to your server, and everything on your bill will
be counted toward the 20%. You can purchase Steak & Shake gift
cards with a voucher and receive the 20% as well! Extra copies of the
vouchers are available on the narthex table.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 – 1st meeting of the Wednesday morning
Bible Study Group.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 6:45 PM ALL PRESENT AND FUTURE C & W
VOLUNTEERS: Children & Worship Appreciation evening! Please
join me on this evening as I say “thank you” for all you’ve done and
go over the new schedule for fall. Desserts will be served - save room!

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9 – WOMEN’S NIGHT OUT – All those who reserved
their ticket will see the play “Church Basement Ladies”. We
received notice that there will be a special pre-performance
reception from 6:30 – 7:15 hosting “A Taste of Byron” featuring
several area restaurants who will be offering free samples of their
most favorite menu items! We will plan on taking advantage of this
reception …so come hungry!

 MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

PRAYER PARTNERS – New Prayer Partner Lists for the next 6 months are
in your boxes today. Thank you for your willingness to be a Prayer
Covenant Partner at Grace!

CHILDREN & WORSHIP – Looking for individuals willing to worship with
our children. We need your help this fall to keep our children
worshipping God in their own setting. Looking for those willing to
teach the Bible stories and helpers to monitor the children. If you
were involved in C & W last year, there is no need to sign up unless
something has changed as you will be put on the schedule
automatically. Also, needed is someone who is creative to
help set up the crafts. Please contact Heather Dood (534-1794)
if you have any questions.

SCRAPBOOKING – We will once again be meeting at the Crossing on the
3rd Friday of the month from 7 – 10 pm to scrapbook! The first night
is Friday, September 19th. Invite your friends to come along

LEADERSHIP TRAINING EVENT - Thursday, September 25, 6:00 - 9:30 pm.
Volunteers in Service is putting on a workshop for anyone who
wishes to improve their leadership abilities. Many workshops are
available. If you are interested, please pick up a brochure from the
table in the narthex and turn it in to Shari before Sept. 14. Your
registration fee will be covered.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES! Thank you!! Thank you for your GREAT
participation! A special thank you also to those who came last
Thursday to the WCSG backpack work night. Concerning the
RCWS SCHOOL BAG PROJECT, Grace sewed the most school bags
(over 200!) and by doing so won the Deacon Center award, so Shari
Dood and Phyllis VanderSloot will be able to go, free of charge, on
the mission trip to Baltimore MD in November (see announcement
below). See the Galaxy for all the details!

MISSION BUS TRIP OPPORTUNITY: If anyone is interested in doing a
short mission bus trip from Nov. 10-14, 2008, please contact Shari or
pick up a flyer on the narthex table. It is called the “Learn and Serve
Bus Trip”, a work trip of Church World Service, and it goes to
Baltimore. Monday & Friday are travel days and Tuesday – Thursday
will be volunteer days at the Service Center in New Windsor,
Maryland. Special things are planned for the evenings. The cost is
$430.00 and that includes the lodging & food while there…not the
Monday & Friday travel days.

NEEDED! VOLUNTEERS willing to run the PROJECTOR SYSTEM on Sunday
mornings on a rotating schedule. If you have computer knowledge
we can train you to run the projector system! We will hold a training
session so you will feel comfortable doing this! See Jim Emelander
or Sue Stuk if you would consider serving in this way or if you have
any questions.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for ELEMENTARY CLUB on Thursdays this fall
from 3:30 – 5:30 pm. Sign up in the narthex or see Kia for more
details!
