Prayers & Praise Line

August 31, 2014

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We are thankful today for our jobs, for means to support our families.  For plenty to eat, warm homes, and freedom to worship.
  • We thank and praise God for times of rest and refreshment, time to enjoy the beauty of His creation.
  • We are thankful today for family, both near and far.  We are thankful that Rowin Mulder’s parents and his aunt and uncle can be here to visit from the Netherlands.  We pray that they have a good time and safe travels.  We especially pray and think of the family as they are traveling to Canada to spend time with a family member that is very ill.
  • As school begins, we pray for the students in our congregation.  We ask God to be with them as they face the challenges of each day.
  • Please keep Linda Emelander in your prayers.  Pray for healing, strength, and a relief of pain associated with Guillain Barre Syndrome.
  • Please be in prayer as fall plans are being made.  Pray for willing volunteers and an eagerness to dig in!
  • Please continue to be in prayer for Paul Hoekstra, Vice President of Operations at Talking Bibles, as he recovers following a car accident in Hungary on July 18.  We praise God his life was spared.
  • We continue to lift up Earl & Clare Reifel and the people they serve in West Africa as they battle the effects of the Ebola crisis there.
  • There are many friends and family of our church members that need your prayers this week.  Please continue to pray for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey.  Also, Barb, friend of Della Sawyer, undergoing chemotherapy; Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer; Caitlin, friend of Abbey Licari, diagnosed with Leukemia; and Mary De Vries, mother of Lisa Braendle, following surgery to remove a cancerous mass.
  • We pray for all those who are serving in the military.  In particular we pray for Amie Pierce serving in Kuwait.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.

As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write them down and include them in your prayers for our congregation this week. Please keep the church informed of your prayer needs and praise reports.
