Our MINISTRY OF MUSIC is presented by Ernst Otto of our congregation
and Dick Algera, member of 1st Reformed Church of Byron Center.
Ernst and Dick both belong to the Metropolitan Choir of Praise.
Thank you for coming and sharing your testimony in song!

CHILDREN & WORSHIP
All Children ages 3 years – 2nd Grade will meet together
through the summer months in the Fellowship Hall.
Worship Leaders this week are Judy Beadle and
Kerri Baker.

 CALENDAR OF THE WEEK

NEXT SUNDAY morning Pastor Cecil Martens will be with us and present
the message “ONE NATION UNDER GOD”. Rev. Todd Bush will
lead our evening worship service and share the message.

HEALTH CONCERNS – See the Prayers & Praise Line for all prayer
requests and praise reports.

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Bob & Lynda Ver Merris
upon the death of Lynda’s brother, Larry Van Valkenburg, on
Monday, August 3 at the age of 67. Services were held at Grace on
Thursday, August 6th.


 MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

CROCODILE DOCK REUNION! It will take place on Monday August 17
from 11 am – 1:00 pm. We will have a fun Bible story, sing the
same VBS songs we learned earlier this summer, make a craft, play
games, and share lunch! SLURP will be our Bible Buddy & he will
teach us that God is love! Fear Not! (if you attend, you may feel like
Christmas came just a bit early…..but just for one day!!!) Tell your
kids, grandkids, neighbors to come out and join us for this fun time!
Please be in prayer as we finalized plans and pray for the children
that will come.

CHURCH PLANT AT GRACE – The Mission/Outreach Team along with the
Consistory are continuing researching and praying about God’s will
for a church plant. Many of you have questions, so a question &
answer flyer is being prepared but we would like your input! Please
write your questions that you have on a piece of paper and place in
the box in the narthex during the next few weeks.

OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of August is designated for
WORDS OF HOPE. This special offering will be received August 30.

TRANSITION TOWARD THE FUTURE – A Resource Day of Hope for
individuals and families experiencing job loss or reduction in income
due to the economy. This seminar will be held Saturday, August 15 at
GRCC and Thursday, August 20 at St. Jude Catholic Church. There is
no registration required and no charge! Further information is
available on the narthex table.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – Westown Jubilee Housing is in need of
volunteers to help remodel two foreclosed homes and a grocery store.
Volunteers are needed to hang siding, lay flooring, paint, general
remodeling work, etc. Please contact Rev. Dick Ter Maat at
616-458-4841.
