TODAY AT GRACE

OUR DISCOVERY KIDZ will present their Christmas Program this

 morning. Our thanks to Heather Dood, our Children & Youth

 Coordinator, for her work with our children. We are so thankful for

 her love, dedication, energy, and time! Thanks to our kids and the

 many volunteers who make it possible. See the insert for details of

 the program.

 

ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see Pastor Rick or

 an Elder today. Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin. You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register as

 it is passed today.

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the Sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George and the new church start. All are welcome.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory Room following the morning service today.

 

THE CHIAPAS MEXICO MISSION GROUP is going to have

 BAKED GOODS available to anyone who would like to donate to

 our mission project! When…right after the AM worship service! 

 Just come to the library area right after the service and give a

 donation & in return you can select some yummy baked good item. 

 This is a way to cut down on your stress during the holidays…..we’ll

 bake for you!

 

6:00 PM JOIN US TONIGHT for the DVD series “The Journey to

 Christmas”. Follow the lives of five diverse people as they journey to

 discover the TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS.

 older youth and adults. Gifts of any amount are appreciated.

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the Advent Series “What is

 God Conceiving?” with the message “The Holy Spirit Who Baptized 

 Jesus”. We will celebrate with the Crane Family as Timothy makes

 Profession of Faith. Our SENIOR CHOIR will present their

 Christmas Cantata, “Rise Up! A New Light A~Comin”.

 

6:30 PM Y – LIFE Christmas Party for Middle and High School Youth.

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Shirley De Bruin

 upon the death of her sister-in-law, Wilma Boverhof, who passed

 away Sunday, December 4. Services were held on Thursday.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

THE FOLLOWING PERSONS were elected to serve on the

 Consistory beginning in January 2012:

 Elders: Scott Crane, Wes Dekker

 Deacon: Eric Wigent

 Ray Zondervan has agreed to remain on Consistory serving as a

 Deacon for one additional year.

 

 INSTALLATION AND ORDINATION of newly elected Elders

 and Deacons will take place on January 8.

NEW BUDGET ENVELOPES are now in your mailboxes for the

 year 2012. Please note: Open enrollment for online giving has

 begun. If you would prefer to give your tithes and offering in this

 way, please contact Ray Zondervan or Ernst Otto. 

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of December and for

 Christmas is designated for the Grace Mission Fund.

 

GRACE FAMILY CHRISTMAS TREE – Once again we are

 decorating our Grace Christmas tree with ornaments collected from

 YOU! Would you like to donate a special/favorite ornament from

 your family tree? They will be returned to you!

 

NEW NURSERY SCHEDULES are being prepared. If you would be

 willing to volunteer, please sign up in the narthex. If you are already

 a volunteer…THANK YOU! We will continue to schedule you as in

 the past!

 

THE ELIZABETH CIRCLE will have their Christmas Luncheon on

 Tuesday, December 20 at 12:30 pm at the GrandVilla, 3594 Chicago

 Drive Southwest, Grandville. All women are invited to join them for

 this time of fellowship. Call Mary Bush for reservations: 538-5646.

 

LAST CALL FOR CHIAPAS MEXICO MISSION TRIP – There is

 space for 4 more persons to go along on the trip March 11-18. 

 Presently 12 persons are on board. If you have been thinking about it

 and are on the fence, please consider joining the Team. See Shari for

 more information. Deadline for adding new members will be Dec. 25.

 

CHRISTMAS BREAK – Please note that there will be no activities at

 Grace on Wednesday, December 21 & 28 (with the exception of Choir

 on the 21st), no evening service on Christmas Day and New Years Day

 and no Discovery Kidz on Christmas and New Years Day. Also, Club

 3:16 will not be held the weeks of December 19 & 26. Thursday Club

 Dinners will continue however! Club will resume on January 3 and

 Wednesday activities will resume on January 4.

Church Plant Prayer Focus

 

Please pray for the members of the Steering Team, Larry Kleymeer, Les VanWyk and

Pastor George as we prayerfully discern God’s plan to unveil the vision of the new church to the folks of the Crossing Community.

 

Congregational Prayers and Praise

Please call the office if you would like to

share a Prayer Request or a Praise Report.

 

  • We thank and praise God today for our Children. We pray that they will each come to know, love, and serve our Great God.
  • We are thankful today for Heather Dood and her dedication to our children.
  • Please pray today for those who have recently lost a loved one. In particular we pray today for Shirley De Bruin and family.
  • Please keep Curt Boes, former member of our congregation, in your prayers as waits for a heart transplant.
  • We remember in prayer the following family or friends of our members that are ill or receiving treatments: Dan De Vries, brother of Lisa Braendle; 
  • Norm Ver Merris, brother of Shirley De Bruin and Brother in Law of Ruth Ver Merris
  • We pray for the plans being made for the mission trip to Chiapas….may all the details work out and the fundraisers be successful.
