prayer needs that you would like to share, an Elder will be available
in the front of the sanctuary following the service this morning.

A warm welcome to our visitors and members alike during this season of Advent.
As we prepare ourselves to celebrate again the coming of our Lord, let us affirm
the joy Christ brought to the world. May such joy live within us as we worship the Lord.
Please take a moment and sign your name and address on the Fellowship Register
so we can get to know you better.



 TODAY AT GRACE

9:50 am – 11:15 am DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3 years –
5th Grade meet downstairs for your very own service.

11:30 am – 12:10 pm THE SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in
the Consistory Room. You are welcome to join them!

5:30 pm S.O.S. (Service on Sunday) Tonight we will be serving a
CHRISTMAS DINNER to our Club 3:16 families. We have reservations
for 35 persons from Club that will be joining us for dinner!

 CALENDAR OF THE WEEK

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2009
1:00 PM THE ELIZABETH CIRCLE plans to meet for lunch at the
Grandvilla. All women are welcome. Make your reservation
with Mary Bush (538-5646) TODAY.
3:15 – 5:30 PM CLUB 3:16 FOR GRADES 5 & 6.


WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2009
3:45 – 6:00 pm CLUB 3:16 FOR GRADES 3 & 4.
6:00 PM FELLOWSHIP DINNER – PIZZA is on the Menu!
6:30 PM ALL CHURCH CAROLING NIGHT! Everyone is invited to join
in on the fun! (This will take the place of the kids classes and
Senior Choir!)
7:00 – 8:00 PM
ADULT CLASS will meet in the Consistory Room. Pastor Rick
will continue the study “The Supremacy of Christ”.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2009
7:30 AM BEING THE HANDS PROGRAM - We will meet at church to
ride together. We have 2 conference rooms from 8 am til Noon.
The store itself will take place between 9 & 11, with the time
before & after for set up and take down.
2:45 – 5:00 PM CLUB 3:16 FOR GRADES 7 & 8.

10:00 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ Christmas program dress rehearsal and
Jesus’ Birthday Party!

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the series of Advent messages
“SONGS FOR ADVENT AND BEYOND” with the message: “THE SONG
OF ZECHARIAH”, Luke 1:57-80. THE DISCOVERY KIDZ will present
their Christmas Program “THREE WISEMEN AND A BABY”. 

 PRAYERS & PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS – Mary Haagsman was expected to return home
following back surgery on Wednesday. Ann Hoezee was admitted to
the Meijer Heart Center Wednesday evening. See the Prayers and
Praise Line for more prayer requests and praise reports.

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Gladys Kessel upon the
death of her brother, Kenneth Roos of Sheldon, Iowa on December 9
at the age of 83. We pray for comfort and peace as well as safety for
Gladys as she is traveling to Iowa for the funeral.

IN APPRECIATION – Thank you to everyone for the cards, calls, thoughts
and prayers through my surgeries and radiation this year. It is a
blessing to have such a caring church family!

THANK YOU to our SENIOR CHOIR who will present the Christmas
Cantata “Carols and Classics” during our service this morning.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this Cantata for giving of
their time and talents. Thank you to the Senior Choir, Soloists, and
the Narrators, Chelsea & Lyndsey Boeve. A special thank you to
Paul Kerkstra for directing and accompanying the choir.

THE FOLLOWING PERSONS were elected to serve on the Consistory
beginning in January 2010:
 ELDERS: Dale Dood, Elaine Martin, Larry Palma
 DEACON: Mike Tibbets
Eric Postema and Tim Boeve have agreed to continue to
serve as Deacons for an additional 1 year term.
The names of the elected are printed in order that any legitimate
objections may be presented to the Board of Elders for it’s judgment
prior to installation and ordination of those persons.

 MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

A LISTING OF THE CURRENT ADDRESSES OF OUR MEMBERS IN CARE
FACILITIES, SICK and HOME BOUND is available on the narthex table
for those who would like to correspond during the Christmas season.

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of December as well as our
Christmas Offering is designated for the GRACE BUILDING FUND.

NURSERY SCHEDULES for 2010 are now being prepared. Help is
desperately needed. Please sign up on the sheet in the narthex if you
can help! If you are already on the schedule, there is no need to sign
up again. Thank you so much for caring for our children.

DEACONS will be delivering POINSETTIAS to our senior members in care
facilities, those who are sick, and those who are homebound. This is
a change from what has been done in the past. If you know of
someone else in our congregation who would appreciate a visit and
Christmas Poinsettia from our Deacons, please contact Dan Stuk.

SUSAN G. KOMEN 3 DAY FOR A CURE – Come out and have breakfast
with SANTA! Skip the lines at the mall and enjoy breakfast, time
with Santa and Mrs. Claus, facepainting and more. The event will be
held at Applebees (28th Street in Wyoming) December 19 from 8am –
10am. Cost is $5.00 each with all proceeds going to the Susan G.
Komen 3 Day for a cure. Contact Christy Kleymeer for tickets
(635-9632).

Church Plant Prayer Focus

The congregation has confirmed the plan to start a new
CHURCH PLANT by a vote of 74 – 17, which is 81%.
The next step is prayer in consideration of a prospective church planter.


Congregational Prayers and Praise

 We thank God today for the message of the Senior Choir presented today in the Cantata.
We are thankful for the hard work and dedication of the choir members and Director, Paul Kerkstra.
 We pray for those who will serve as Elders and Deacons of our Church.
 We thank God today for the opportunity we had as a church to host the Christmas Store
yesterday. We thank and praise God for the many gifts that those in our congregation
and other area churches donated.
 We pray for Mary Haagsman following back surgery.
 We pray for Ann Hoezee as she was hospitalized this past week.
 We pray for Gladys Kessel and family following the loss of her brother.
 We thank God for the children in our church and those in our community.
We pray for opportunities this Christmas season to touch a life.
 We pray for all those men & women who are serving in the military today. We pray also for their
families, especially during this holiday season when they may especially feel their absence.
 We pray for the health of our congregation. May they be protected from the many sicknesses going
around.
