WELCOME

A warm welcome to our visitors and members alike during this season of  Advent.  As we prepare ourselves to celebrate again the coming of our Lord, let us affirm the joy Christ brought into the world.  May such joy live within us as we worship the Lord.  Please take a moment and sign your name and address on the Fellowship Register as it is passed today.

 

TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All kids ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

TODAY OUR SENIOR CHOIR will present their Christmas Cantata 

 Sing and Shout for Joy.  Thank you to Paul Kerkstra, our Minister of

 Music, for your time and dedication!  Thank you to all the members

 of the choir for your special part in our Christmas celebrations.  

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL class will meet in the Consistory

 Room following the morning worship service.  They cover various

 subject matter using the Sunday School Guide. 

 

6:00 PM– Tonight we will be meeting at Beverly Reformed Church,

 2141 Porter, Wyoming.  The Beverly Choir will present their

 Christmas Cantata.

AT THE CONGREGATIONAL MEETING on November 27,

 the following persons were approved to serve on the Consistory

 beginning in 2017:

 ELDERS:  Bob Moreno, Jerry Vander Wal

 DEACONS:  Eric Wigent, Ray Zondervan

 

 The service of Ordination and Installation will take place on Sunday,

 January 8. 

 

CONGRATULATIONS are extended to Fred & Willie Hiemstra upon

 their 50th Wedding Anniversary on December 17!  They have

 provided cake after the service in celebration!

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of December, Christmas

 Eve, and Christmas Day is designated for the work of Godwin Idogo. 

 Pastor Cecil Martens has spoken of him in the past and will give us

 more information this morning!  You may use your special offering

 envelope, designate it on your regular offering envelope, or a pew

 envelope anytime this month.

 

YEAR END GIVING – Please have all gifts you wish to have credited

 to your 2016 Contribution Statement in by December 25.  Thank you

 to all who have contributed so generously throughout the year!

 

2017 CONTRIBUTION ENVELOPES for Grace members are now

 in your mailbox.  If you are not a member and wish to contribute to

 Grace Church, please call the office at 538-3100 and we will see that

 you receive envelopes.  Online giving is also available.  If you are

 interested in this, see Robin Zondervan or call the office.

 

PEOPLE’S CHOICE – Beginning in January, Pastor Rick will be

 preaching your choice of sermons.  Now is your opportunity to hear a

 message on your chosen topic or scripture.  Jot your requests down

 and put them in the offering plate of leave on the desk in the office. 

 

SENDING CHRISTMAS CARDS?  An updated list of the addresses

 of our shut in members is on the narthex table. 

 

CHRISTMAS BREAK – No evening worship service will be held on

 Christmas Day or New Years Day.  The Crossing after school program

 will not meet this week or next.  They will resume on Tuesday,

 January 3. Wednesday activities will resume on January 4. 

 

MISSION/OUTREACH TEAM – Your next meeting will be held on

 Tuesday, January 10 at 7:00 pm.

Prayers & Praise Line

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • “Silent Night, Holy Night” – we reflect on the importance of that special night long ago.  Praise God that Christmas holds the answer to eternity for all believers.
  • We thank and praise God today for the gift of music.  We are so thankful for our Minister of Music, Paul Kerkstra.  We also give thanks to Lorinda VanderWerp, Ruth Tacoma, and our Praise Team.  We thank them all for their dedication and time!
  • We pray for the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services being held at Grace.  We pray that we will have the opportunity to reach someone with the love of God during this special time. 
  • We pray for those who are hurting this holiday season.  May they feel the love of God surround them.
  • We give praise to God for our children.  We thank Heather Dood for all she does with the youth groups at Grace and the Crossing.  We pray for Heather as she continues her studies to become a Commissioned Pastor.
  • We thank God for the ministry of Connections.  We pray for Pastor George as he leads them each week.  We thank God for the lives that are touched by this ministry.
  • Keep Mary Huizen in your prayers as she recovers at her daughter’s home.
  • We thank God for his faithfulness to Shirley De Bruin as she goes through Chemo treatments. We pray for strength.
