TODAY our Senior Choir will present their Christmas Cantata! Thank
you to Paul Kerkstra, our Minister of Music, for your time and
dedication! Thank you to the Choir, and those who participated in
the drama, for their special part in our Christmas celebrations.

prayer needs that you would like to share, an Elder will be available
in the front of the sanctuary following the service this morning.
THE SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in the
Consistory room following the morning service.
PRAYERS & PRAISE
HEALTH CONCERNS – Jim Friar has returned to his home. Harvey
Steensma is at Butterworth Hospital for another round of chemo &
radiation. Deb Pierce will undergo surgery on her foot once again on
Wednesday, December 22. See the Prayer and Praise Line for all the
prayer requests and praise reports.
THE FOLLOWING PERSONS were elected to serve on the
Consistory beginning in January 2011:

DEACONS: Lorie Norden, Luke Nordlund, Ernst Otto
The names of the elected are printed in order that any legitimate
objections may be presented to the Board of Elders for it’s judgement
prior to installation and ordination of those persons.

Sunday, January 2, 2011 - INSTALLATION & ORDINATION of
newly elected Elder and Deacons will take place.
Sunday, January 9, 2011 – The sacrament of the LORD’S SUPPER
will take place during our morning worship service.
FEARLESS BY MAX LUCADO - Rev. Scott Crane will be leading a
study in January on this book. There are six sessions which will
begin on Wednesday, January 5th. Each session will consist of a five
to ten minute video with discussion afterwards. There is a hardcover
book and a small group discussion guide that participants can avail
themselves of to begin preparation for each session. A sign up sheet
will be on the narthex table for you to indicate if you would like us to
order the book, the study guide, or both.
DISCOVERY KIDZ – The next rotation, “Phillip and the
Ethiopian”, starts January 9. Cooking, drama, games, theater, and
shepherds still needed! See Heather if you can help, or sign up on
the narthex table.
NEW OFFERING ENVELOPES for 2011 are in your mailboxes. New
envelope numbers have been assigned. Please plan on making
contributions you would like credited to your 2010 statement by
GEMS AND VICTORS will begin meeting every week starting
January 5th. Be BIG Preschool class will still meet the 1st & 3rd
Wednesday. There will be childcare available the 2nd & 4th
Wednesday for those parents that teach or attend Bible study on
those nights. Questions? Please see Heather.
THERE WILL NOT BE A CLASS FOR DISCOVERY KIDZ on
Christmas Day or December 26th. Children are invited to join with
their parents in the sanctuary.
GRACE FAMILY CHRISTMAS TREE – Thank you to everyone who
contributed to the tree this year! Be sure to check out the poster
board in the narthex and read the stories behind the ornaments.
NEW NURSERY SCHEDULES are being prepared. If you would be
willing to help out in the nursery, even just a couple times, please
sign up in the narthex. If you are already a nursery volunteer, there
is no need to sign up…you will automatically be scheduled. Thanks!
DISCOVERY KIDZ are in need of JUICE BOXES. You can bring
your donations to the kitchen. Thanks!

We praise God for music! Especially during this Christmas season.
Today we lift up Ken Wylie in prayer as he undergoes testing on December 23rd.
Please be in prayer for Harvey Steensma as he continues with chemo and radiation treatments.
We are thankful for the birth of Christopher James Thompson, Grandson of Jim & Linda Emelander;
son of Kristen & Nathan Thompson. Mom and baby are doing well (Kristen & Nathan live in the Chicago area)!
Be in prayer for Tama Henderson, a regular visitor at Grace, who is under care to control her pain.
Remember Deb Pierce in your prayers as she undergoes surgery this week.
We remember all those serving in the military during this Christmas season. Give them comfort and peace.
We think today of Lucille Sytsema. Pray for encouragement and strength.
Keep Dick & Ruth Locke’s daughter Amee Bekkering in your prayers as she receives treatment for breast cancer.
Prayers are requested for Ruth Ver Merris’s son, Larry, age 55, who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Keep Linda Hoezee, daughter in law of Ann Hoezee, in your prayers as she is undergoing chemotherapy.
Please pray for Connie Maile, sister of Jim Emelander, who is battling cancer.
