ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 an Elder today.  Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin.  You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.



A warm welcome to our visitors and members alike during this season of Advent.  As we prepare ourselves to celebrate again the coming of our Lord, let us affirm the joy Christ brought into the world.  May such joy live within us as we worship the Lord.  Please take a moment and sign your name and address on the Fellowship Register as it is passed today.




DISCOVERY KIDZ will not meet.  All kids are welcome to sit with

 their parents in the sanctuary. 


A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.


THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL class will meet in the Consistory

 Room following the morning worship service.  They cover various

 subject matter using the Sunday School Guide. 



Join us for this special candlelight service

of  lessons and carols.




HEALTH CONCERNS:  Les VanWyk has been hospitalized this past

 week with kidney stones.  Please keep him in your prayers.  Pastor

 George Grevenstuk is home following knee replacement surgery. 

 Linda Kraft is also expected to return home following her knee

 surgery.  Bill Ver Hulst will continue at Marywood Health Center for

 a while longer.  Continue to be in prayer for Jerry Hendrickson who

 is now at home under hospice care. For all other praise reports and

 prayer concerns, see the prayers and praise line in your bulletin



OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Mary Bush, Beth

 Kubiak and Rebekah, Abby, and Mary; and the entire Bush family

 and friends following Denny Bush’s death on Monday, December 18.

 Denny was a long time faithful member of Grace Church.  Services

 were held on Saturday, December 23.



DECEMBER 31, 2017 


NEXT SUNDAY will be PASTOR RICK’S last Sunday leading us in

 worship and sharing the message.  We will have a time for cake and

 fellowship following the service.




Sunday, January 14 – Pastor Rick’s FAREWELL DINNER will follow

 this service.  This will be a special service honoring his years at Grace.

 See the insert in your bulletin today!




OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of December and

 Christmas is designated for Pastor Rick’s retirement gift.  You may

 designate on your regular offering envelope, use a pew envelope, or

 your special offering envelope anytime this month. 


YEAR END GIVING – Please have all gifts you wish to have credited

 to your 2017 Contribution Statement in by December 31.  Thank you

 to all who have contributed so generously throughout the year!


2018 CONTRIBUTION ENVELOPES for Grace members are now

 in your mailbox.  If you are not a member and wish to contribute to

 Grace Church, please call the office at 538-3100 and we will see that

 you receive envelopes.  Online giving is also available.  If you are

 interested in this, see Robin Zondervan or call the office.


CHRISTMAS BREAK – No Wednesday classes, Discovery Kidz, or

 Crossing Afterschool program will be held this week or next. 

 Wednesday family night and Crossing after school program will

 resume January 10.


You can return your GROCERY BAGS for Family Network of

 Wyoming to the church Kitchen.  If you still would like to fill a bag,

 there are some available on the narthex table.  Attached is a list of

 items needed.

Congregational Prayers and Praise


  • “Silent Night, Holy Night” – we reflect today on the importance of that special night long ago.  Praise God that Christmas holds the answer to eternity for all believers.
  • Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s presence and guidance as Pastor Rick and Donna go through these last few days at Grace.  We thank and praise God for their time here and their love for our congregation and community.
  • We praise and thank God for the life and witness of Denny Bush.  We pray for his family as they go through this difficult loss.  May they feel the love and presence of God surround them.
  • We pray for those who are hurting or away from home this holiday season. 
  • We thank and praise God today for our Children.  We pray that each one will come to know, love, and serve our Great God.
  • We pray today for Heather Dood as she leads the Discovery Kidz and the other youth activities that take here at Grace.  We pray for The Crossing after school program and the families that participate.

  • Please pray for Pastor George and Connections and for the youth and adults that attend each week.  We pray for them as they continue to grow and expand.
  • Please pray for the Search Team as they go about their work.  May the Holy Spirit guide their path. 
  • We lift up in prayer Pastor George and Linda Kraft following their knee surgeries this week.
  • We pray for Bill Ver Hulst today.  May he feel encouraged and strengthened. 
  • Please continue to keep Jerry Hendrickson and his family in your prayers. 
  • We pray for Lorinda Vander Werp today.  We pray for quick and complete healing.
  • Please continue to remember our Grace members and members of their families who are in need of healing, comfort, and strength:  Esther Hoag, Char Otto, Shirley De Bruin, Brent Kerkstra, son of Paul;  Janet, sister of Wes Dekker; Lana, granddaughter of Ken & Cindy Wylie; Amee, daughter of Dick & Ruth Locke; Matthew Marshall, brother of Rick Marshall; Mel & Virgil Vander Sloot, brothers of Roger Vander Sloot; Jonathan and Robbie Stouten, nephews  of Pastor Rick; Rev.
