TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in

 the Consistory Room following the morning service today. This class

 covers various subject matter pertaining to our Christian walk.

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George and the new church start.

 

6:45 – 8:00 PM Y-LIFE for Middle and High School Youth.

HEALTH CONCERNS – Marge Veldheer underwent knee surgery

 on Thursday, November 29. Louise Grimm is home after being

 hospitalized this week at the Meijer Heart Center. Please keep Marge

 and Louise and their families in your prayers. For all other prayer

 concerns and praise reports, please see the insert in your bulletin.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2012

 WYOMING CHRISTMAS STORE – If you have not brought the

 gifts you purchased to church already, please do so by

 Wednesday. Everyone who volunteered to help, come 10

 minutes before your assigned time. If you signed up to bring

 cookies, please drop them off sometime before the store opens.

NEXT WEEK, DECEMBER 9, 2012

 

NEXT WEEK Pastor Rick will continue the Advent series of messages

 “Longing for More” with the message “We are Weary”. 

 

SUNDAYS AT SIX - Pastor Rick will share the message “Give

 Presence”. Give of your hands, your words, your time, your heart.

 

 

SPECIAL DATES TO REMEMBER

 

Tuesday, December 11 - “BEING THE HANDS” at DeVos Children’s

 Hospital. We are in need of gifts for older youth and adults. Gifts of

 any amount are appreciated. Gifts can be brought to the library area

 by the Christmas tree. A box will be marked for these gifts. 

 

Wednesday, December 12, 7:00 pm DISCOVERY KIDZ DRESS  

 REHEARSAL. It is important that everyone is present. 

 

December 16, 10:00 am THE DISCOVERY KIDZ will present their

 Christmas Program “Stranger in the Manger” during the morning

 worship service. Following the Program the Children will celebrate

 Jesus’ birth with Birthday Party!

Sunday, December 23, 10:00 am the SENIOR CHOIR will present

 their Christmas Cantata “Heaven and Earth Rejoice” during the

 morning service.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of December and

 Christmas Day is designated for the GRACE BUILDING FUND.

 

DISCOVERY KIDZ – Need just one helper for each week in

 December. Beginning in January we will return to the 5 week

 rotations of Art, Science, Theater, Cooking, and Games. Teachers

 will be asked to make a 3 week commitment and Shepherds a five

 week commitment. Please sign up on the narthex table.

 

YOUNG ADULT STUDY GROUP coming! Please sign up in the

 narthex if interested in a Thursday night study group. Also looking

 for those interested in helping with child care on these Thursday

 evenings. Please sign up as well. Looking at the 2nd or 3rd Thursday

 each month.

 

ARE YOU A PINTEREST PINNER? Are your boards full of ideas

 that you would like to do but just need the time. Here is your chance

 to join us for a night of crafting or whatever project you are looking to

 complete. Bring all your own supplies and craft away. We will meet

 in the Fellowship Hall this Tuesday, December 4th at 7:00 pm!

 

OPEN ENROLLMENT for online giving has begun. If you would

 prefer to give your tithes and offering in this way, please contact Ray

 Zondervan or Ernst Otto.

Prayers & Praise Line

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We pray this week for all those who will be shopping at the Christmas Store on Saturday. We thank God for the many volunteers who will be working at the store, and for the many who donated gifts. May the love of Christ show through our efforts.
  • Remember Marge Veldheer in your prayers following knee replacement surgery.
  • Please pray for Dan De Vries, brother of Lisa Braendle, as his illness is progressing rapidly.
  • We remember in prayer the following family or friends of our members that are ill or receiving treatments: Lola De Young, Curt Boes, Brian Benthin.
  • We thank and praise God that Adam Simons, nephew of Jenny & Derk Hendges has returned home safely to his family after serving oversees.
  • Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is now stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas.
  • We pray for all those serving in the military during this holiday season as many are away from their homes and families. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink, Mrs. Jane Duthler,Mrs Miriam Schrotenboer, Mrs Anne Hoezee, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.

 

As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write

them down and include them in your prayers for our

congregation this week. Please keep the church

informed of your prayer needs and praise reports!

 

Church Plant Prayer Focus

Pastor George and Juel invite the congregation to stop by

the parsonage for coffee and Christmas treats next Sunday,

December 9 following morning worship. Please join us in celebrating the

countless hours of restoration that

prepared this house to again be a home.
