ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 an Elder today.  Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin.  You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.



A warm welcome to our visitors and members alike.  We rejoice at the

joy Christ brought to the world so long ago.  May such joy live within

us as we worship the Lord.  Please take a moment and sign your name

and address on the Fellowship Register as it is passed today.




TODAY Pastor Rick will share his last sermon here at Grace.  We are

 so thankful for Pastor Rick and the time he and Donna spent here

 with us at Grace, and his many years of faithful ministry.  We will

 forever be grateful and appreciative of the love and support he and

 Donna have showered upon us as a congregation for so many years. 

 We pray for a future full memorable moments, new sights, and time

 to reflect and just be able to enjoy God’s beautiful creation.  We pray

 that he and Donna may  have many great new worship experiences as

 they travel along the way.  We pray for God’s blessings as you begin

 this new  chapter of life. 

 Please join us for Pastor Rick’s FAREWELL DINNER which will be

 held on JANUARY 14 following a special service honoring his years

 at Grace.  See the insert in your bulletin today!


OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of December and

 Christmas is designated for Pastor Rick’s retirement gift.  Today the

 offering plate will be passed through two times.  The first time is for

 the regular tithes and offerings for Grace Reformed Church.  The

 second time is for your gifts for Pastor Rick. 


DISCOVERY KIDZ will not meet.  All kids are welcome to sit with

 their parents in the sanctuary.  Children’s Bulletins are available at

 the sound board.


THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL class will NOT meet today.  They

 will resume  next week.


A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.




HEALTH CONCERNS:  Bill Ver Hulst is now home with limited

 ability to get out and about on his own.  Continue to keep him in your

 prayers as he goes through this transition.  Dialysis will continue and

 oxygen will be in use.  He can however, get out some and hopes to be

 able to be at church on occasion.  Ken Wylie will undergo an

 outpatient procedure on Friday, Jan. 5.  Les VanWyk’s had a few

 complications following his procedure on Tuesday.  Pastor George

 Grevenstuk and Linda Kraft both are recovering from knee surgeries. 

 For all other praise reports and prayer concerns, see the prayers and

 praise line in your bulletin today.


OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Karen

 Hendrickson and her family following the death of her husband,

 Jerry on Tuesday, December 26.  Jerry was a long time faithful

 member of Grace Church.  Services were held on Saturday, December

 30th with Pastor Rick officiating.









 7:00 PM THURSDAY NIGHT Bible Study group will meet in the

 Consistory room. 




NEXT SUNDAY Rev. Andrew Bossardet, RCA Coordinator for

 Equipping Thriving Congregations, will lead our service and share

 the message “Shifting Gears without Stalling Out” from Psalm 8. 

 Installation of newly elected Elders and Deacons will take place. 


THE BUILDING TASKFORCE will meet following the service next



6:45 – 8:00 PM Y-LIFE will meet.




Sunday, January 21 A TOWN HALL style meeting will be held after the

 service with the BUILDING TASKFORCE. 


Monday, January 22, 7:00 pm - A JOINT MEETING OF THE





FREE BOOKS – Pastor Rick is clearing out his library.  You will find a

 number of books on the west side of the church library.  Feel free to

 take a look and take what you want.


2018 CONTRIBUTION ENVELOPES for Grace members are  

 in your mailbox.  If you are not a member and wish to contribute to

 Grace Church, please call the office at 538-3100 and we will see that

 you receive envelopes.  Online giving is also available.  If you are

 interested in this, see Robin Zondervan or call the office.


CHRISTMAS BREAK – No Wednesday classes, Discovery Kidz, or

 Crossing Afterschool program will be held this week.  Wednesday

 family night and Crossing after school program will resume Jan. 10.


You can return your GROCERY BAGS for Family Network of

 Wyoming to the church Kitchen.  If you still would like to fill a bag,

 there are some available on the narthex table.  Attached is a list of

 items needed.

Congregational Prayers and Praise


  • We thank and praise God for Pastor Rick and Donna and their time here at Grace.  We are so thankful for their love for our congregation and community.
  • We are thankful for the dawning of a new year with many new opportunities and possibilities.
  • We praise and thank God for the life and witness of Jerry Hendrickson.  We pray for his family as they go through this difficult loss.  May they feel the love and presence of God surround them.
  • We pray for all those who have lost loved ones recently.  We continue to keep the Bush family in our prayers.
  • We thank and praise God today for our Children.  We pray that each one will come to know, love, and serve our Great God.
  • We pray today for Heather Dood as she leads the Discovery Kidz and the other youth activities that take here at Grace.  We pray for The Crossing after school program and the families that participate.

  • Please pray for Pastor George and Connections and for the youth and adults that attend each week.  We pray for them as they continue to grow and expand.
  • Please pray for the Search Team as they go about their work.  May the Holy Spirit guide their path. 
  • We lift up in prayer Pastor George and Linda Kraft following their knee surgeries this week.
  • Keep Ken Wylie in your prayers as he undergoes surgery on Friday.
  • We pray for Bill Ver Hulst today.  May he feel encouraged and strengthened. 
  • Please continue to remember our Grace members and members of their families who are in need of healing, comfort, and strength:  Esther Hoag, Char Otto, Shirley De Bruin, Brent Kerkstra, son of Paul;  Janet, sister of Wes Dekker; Lana, granddaughter of Ken & Cindy Wylie; Amee, daughter of Dick & Ruth Locke; Matthew Marshall, brother of Rick Marshall; Mel & Virgil Vander Sloot, brothers of Roger Vander Sloot; Jonathan and Robbie Stouten, nephews  of Pastor Rick; Rev. Al Schreuder, and Tom Cook and his family.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris, Mr. Jim Friar, Mrs. Betty Figueroa.
