ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin.  You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.

WELCOME

 A warm welcome to our visitors and members alike during this season of  

 Advent.  As we prepare ourselves to celebrate again the coming of our Lord, let us

 affirm the joy Christ brought into the world.  May such joy live within us as we

 worship the Lord.  Please take a moment and sign your name and address on the

 Fellowship Register as it is passed today.

 

TODAY AT GRACE

TODAY WE CELEBRATE THE SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S

 SUPPER.  We invite all those who are members of Christ’s Church

 and have found forgiveness of sins in Him, to participate in the

 supper.  A brief Communion Service will be held in the

 Chapel following the service for anyone who was not able

 to be present during the worship service.  If you are aware of

 someone who is not here today, but would like to receive this

 sacrament, please contact the church office.

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All kids ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL class will meet in the Consistory

 Room following the morning worship service.  They cover various

 subject matter using the Sunday School Guide. 

 

6:00 PM– For the month of December we will be meeting at Beverly

 Reformed Church, 2141 Porter, Wyoming.  Rev. Harvey Hertz will

 share the message.

 

6:45 PM – Y LIFE will meet at the Crossing.

 

PRAYERS AND PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS: Please be in prayer for Bill Ver Hulst who was

 hospitalized at Blodgett with pneumonia on Wednesday.  For all

 other prayer requests and praise reports, please see the Prayer &

 Praise line in your bulletin today.

 

IN APPRECIATION –Dear Church Family:  I want to thank you for

 the prayers and the cards I received during my hospital stay and

 during rehabilitation at Brookcrest.  I also want to thank Pastor

 Rick for his visits and prayers during that time.  All were

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to John & Tymie

 Boeve; Tim & Lyndsey, Addison, Nylah Boeve; Keri & Hayden

 Desmarais; and Chelsea & Ryan Dornbos upon the death of their

 mom, grandma, and great grandma, Betty Parps on Saturday,

 November 26.  Services were held on Wednesday at Holy Name of

 Jesus Church.

 Come and enjoy a time of fellowship prior to classes!

 FORGIVING THOSE WHO HURT US – Class meets in

 the Consistory Room.  This upcoming week we will be studying

 Chapter 10 in Lewis Smedes' book "The Art of Forgiving –

 When You Need to Forgive and Don't Know How."  We would

 love to have you join us!  If you need a book or study guide,

 please let Lorinda know.

 

NEXT WEEK, DECEMBER 11, 2016

3rd SUNDAY OF ADVENT

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the Advent series

 Christmas Makes Sense, with the message:  “The Smells of

 Christmas”.  Our DISCOVERY Kidz will present their Christmas 

 Program “Shepherds, Sheep, and a Savior”. Please have your

 children to church by 9:15 am next Sunday. Children's Christmas

 program attire- All children participating are asked to wear black

 bottoms and white tops. See Heather with any questions.

 

5:00 PM Y-LIFE - Come hungry to our Christmas celebration!

 

6:00 PM EVENING SERVICE we will meet at Beverly Reformed

 Church for the month of December.  Rev. Harvey Hertz will share the

 message.

AT THE CONGREGATIONAL MEETING on November 27,

 the following persons were approved to serve on the Consistory

 beginning in 2017:

HANDBELLS - If you are interested and available to play handbells for

 change ringing on Sunday, December 18th, please let Lorinda know

 (616) 261-2553.   Beginners are welcome!  We will set up rehearsal

 time(s) once we know who is interested.  

 

NO CROSSING after school program Dec 20-28th.  We will resume

 January 3rd.

Prayers & Praise Line

December 4, 2016

 

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We thank and praise God for the many volunteers who took part in the Christmas Store yesterday, and for the many people who donated gifts for the children.  We pray that they will see the love of God working through us.
  • Please be in prayer for “Being the Hands” at De Vos Children’s Hospital Tuesday.  We pray for the children who are hospitalized during this Christmas season and their families.
  • Continue to keep Pastor Rick in your prayers as he leads us.  Pray for wisdom, strength and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
  • We pray today for Heather Dood as she leads the Discovery Kidz downstairs, and the other youth activities that take place during the week.  We pray for The Crossing after school program and the families that participate.
  • We thank God for the ministry of Connections.  We pray for Pastor George as he leads them each week. 
  • We pray for complete healing and return to health and strength for Bill Ver Hulst.
  • We pray for those who have recently lost loved ones.  We pray today in particular for the Boeve family.
  • We thank God for his faithfulness to Shirley De Bruin as she goes through Chemo treatments. We pray for strength.
  • Please continue to remember our family members who are in need of healing, comfort, and strength.  Larry Ver Merris, son of Ruth Ver Merris; Jackie, daughter in law of Roger and Phyllis Vander Sloot;  Deb Stouten, sister of Pastor Rick; Brent Kerkstra, son of Paul; Janet, sister of Wes Dekker; Lana, granddaughter of Ken & Cindy Wylie.
