ELDERS INVITATION - If you have questions, concerns, joys, or
prayer needs that you would like to share, an Elder will be available
in the front of the sanctuary following the service this morning.

 WELCOME
A warm welcome to our visitors and members alike during
this season of Advent. As we prepare ourselves to celebrate
again the coming of our Lord, let us affirm the joy Christ brought
to the world. May such joy live within us as we worship the Lord.
Please take a moment and sign your name and address on the
Fellowship Register so we can get to know you better!

CHILDREN & WORSHIP
Children ages 3 & 4 meet in Fellowship Hall with Worship

11:20 – 12:20 PM SUNDAY SCHOOL - There are classes available for all
ages three years old and upward. A nursery is available for those
children under the age of three.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
Post High/High School Sunday School Class will meet at the
Crossing.
Sunday School Guide Class will meet in the Consistory Room. Join
them for lively discussions relating to our Christian walk.
Managing Our Finances God’s Way – Topic: Enjoy What God Has
Given You. Meet in the Chapel.

4:30 PM GRACE CHOIR meet for practice.

6:00 PM – RESCHEDULED COMMUNITY ADVENT PRAISE SERVICE to be
held here at Grace! Choirs from Beverly, Faith, and St. John Vianney
will join us. The service will consist of scripture readings, carol
singing, and selections from each church choir. At the close of
worship, the choirs will be singing the Hallelujah Chorus together!
Plan on joining us for this special musical start to the Advent season.
Coffee, punch and cookies will be served following the service.

 PRAYERS & PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS – Bob Ver Merris was expected to return to his
home this weekend. See the Prayers & Praise Line for all prayer
concerns & praise reports.

THE FOLLOWING PERSONS were elected to serve on the Consistory
beginning in January 2009:
ELDER: John Sawyer, Les VanWyk
DEACON: Rick Marshall, Ray Zondervan
The names of the elected are printed in order that any legitimate
objections may be presented to the Board of Elders for its judgment
prior to installation and ordination of these persons.

IN APPRECIATION – Thank you to Pastor Rick for his visits and the
congregation for cards, visits, and prayers following my surgery.

 NEXT WEEK – DECEMBER 14, 2008
 3rd SUNDAY OF ADVENT

NEXT SUNDAY – Pastor Rick will continue the Advent Series “IN THE
WEARY AND THE WONDER” with the message “The Real Deal”
from John 1:6-9, 19-28. Our Senior Choir will present the Cantata
“HEAVEN & EARTH REJOICE”.

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR GRACE – A drive for the Grace Building Fund.
As you know, this building is now 44 years old and in need of
maintenance and improvement so we can continue to share
comfortable worship in this facility. Our goal is to raise $120,000.00
towards these efforts. Extra envelopes are available from the narthex
table if you did not get one last week. We will have a special time for
giving of these gifts on December 21 & 28. Thank you for your
continued generosity and support!

CHRISTMAS BREAK – TEACHERS/LEADERS/OTHERS – Please note
that there will be no Sunday School Classes or Wednesday activities
from Sunday, December 21st – Saturday, January 3. Classes will
resume on Sunday January 4th.

THE ELIZABETH CIRCLE will meet for Christmas Luncheon at the Grand
Villa in Grandville on December 16 at 1:00 pm. All women are
welcome! Make your reservation with Gladys Kessel (878-1101) by
December 14.

NEW NURSERY SCHEDULES will be put together soon! Many volunteers
are needed. Even if you can only help a couple times a year, please
sign up on the narthex table. If you have helped in the past, there is
no need to sign up again…we will automatically schedule you.

ATTENTION ALL CHURCH MEMBERS: we are going CHRISTMAS CAROLING
again this year and you're all invited! All who are willing and able to
sing around the neighborhood of the church please come, you're
voice is welcome! We will meet in the Crossing at 6:30 in
order to leave at 6:45 on Wed. Dec. 17. This year we have
decided to sing to the families of the Club 3:16 kids that live near the
church. GEMS/CADETS…EVERYONE is invited to come, bring a friend!
If you have any questions, see Darrell Delaney or Heather Dood.

CANCELLATIONS – When a church service or event is cancelled, the
announcement will be made on WZZM 13, WOOD 8, WOTV 41.
