TODAY AT GRACE

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

YOU ARE INVITED by Pastor George and Juel to stop by the

 parsonage for coffee and Christmas treats following the worship

 service this morning!

 

THE PRAYER GROUP will have their prayer at the parsonage today! 

 The ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL class will not be held. 

 

PRAYERS & PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS – Marge Veldheer is now home following knee

 replacement surgery. Please be in prayer for Marge as she begins the

 rehabilitation process. For all other prayer concerns and praise

 reports, please see the insert in your bulletin.

 

THE FOLLOWING PERSONS were elected to serve on the

 Consistory beginning in January 2013:

 Elders: Larry Kleymeer, Les VanWyk

 Deacons: Brian Gort, Brian Licari  

 

 Names of the elected are printed in order that any legitimate

 objections may be presented to the Board of Elders for its judgment

 prior to installation and ordination of these persons.

 

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to:

 Lisa Braendle and her family upon the death of her brother Daniel

 De Vries on Thursday, November 29 at the age of 37. Services were

 held on Monday at EverGreen Ministries.

 

 Ruth VerMerris upon the death of her sister-in-law, Marilyn Sierveld

 on Sunday, December 2 at the age of 78. Services were held on

 Friday at Hudsonville Reformed Church.

 

IN APPRECIATION – Thank you to Grace for the beautiful

 poinsettia plant. A special thank you to Ray Zondervan and his

 sons for the visit. I appreciated it so much. ~Ann Hoezee

NEXT WEEK Pastor Rick will continue the Advent series of messages

 “Longing for More” with the message “We Worry”. 

 

THE DISCOVERY KIDZ will present their Christmas Program

 “Stranger in the Manger” during the morning worship service.

 Following the Program the Children will celebrate Jesus’ birth with

 a Birthday Party!

 

SUNDAYS AT SIX - Pastor Rick will share the message “Love All”. 

 Love the poor, the forgotten, the marginalized and the sick in ways

 that make a difference.

 

6:00 – 8:00 PM Y-LIFE CHRISTMAS PARTY. Pizza dinner. Meet

 their Christmas Cantata “Heaven and Earth Rejoice” during the

 morning service.

 

Tuesday, December 25, 10:00 am CHRISTMAS DAY

 CELEBRATION. Pastor Rick will share the message “WE

 WONDER”. Our Christmas Offering is designated for the Grace

 Building Fund. 

 

Sunday, January 6, 10:00 am ORDINATION and INSTALLATION

 of the newly elected Consistory members will be held.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

ELIZABETH CIRCLE plans to meet for lunch at noon at the

 GrandVilla in Grandville on Tuesday, December 18. Grace women

 are also invited. Make your reservation with Mary Bush (538-5646)

 or Gladys Kessel (878-1101).

 

ENJOY THE CITY BOOKS are here! If you ordered one from the

 Discovery Kidz, your books are in your mailbox. If you still owe for

 the books, please turn your money into Heather Dood.

 

VICTORS – watch for a letter in the mail regarding a Christmas Party

 on December 19!

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of December and

 Christmas Day is designated for the GRACE BUILDING FUND.

 

DISCOVERY KIDZ – Need just one helper for each week in

 December. Beginning in January we will return to the 5 week

 rotations of Art, Science, Theater, Cooking, and Games. Teachers

 will be asked to make a 3 week commitment and Shepherds a five

 week commitment. Please sign up on the narthex table.

 

YOUNG ADULT STUDY GROUP coming! Please sign up in the

 narthex if interested in a Thursday night study group. Also looking

 for those interested in helping with child care on these Thursday

 evenings. Looking at the 2nd or 3rd Thursday each month.

 

CONTRIBUTION ENVELOPES for 2013 are now in your mailboxes. 

 OPEN ENROLLMENT for online giving is now available. If you

 would prefer to give your tithes and offering in this way, please

Prayers & Praise Line

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We thank and praise God for the many volunteers who worked at the Christmas Store yesterday. 

 We pray that those who were able to purchase gifts through the store could see the love of Christ shown through those who worked, and the many who donated gifts. 

  • Remember Marge Veldheer in your prayers following knee replacement surgery.
  • Continue to keep Louise Grimm in your prayers as she recovers and regains her strength.
  • Please pray for Larry Ver Merris, son of Ruth VerMerris, who has been diagnosed with cancer in his liver.
  • Please pray for all those who have recently lost loved ones. In particular we remember Lisa Braendle and Ruth Ver Merris and their families.
  • We remember in prayer the following family or friends of our members that are ill or receiving treatments: Lola De Young, Curt Boes, Brian Benthin.
  • Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas.
  • We pray for all those serving in the military during this holiday season as many are away from their homes and families. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink, Mrs. Jane Duthler,

 Mrs Miriam Schrotenboer, Mrs Anne Hoezee, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.

 

As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write

them down and include them in your prayers for our

congregation this week. Please keep the church

informed of your prayer needs and praise reports!
