9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 an Elder today. Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin. You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George and Connections.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in

 the Consistory Room following the morning service today. 

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of February is designated

 for the Grace volunteers who will be going to Stumpy Point, NC to

 join the rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Irene in August 2011. 

 This special offering will be received today.

 

6:00 PM THE LENTEN PULPIT EXCHANGE will begin. Tonight

 we welcome Rev. Mark Bergsma, Pastor at Unity Reformed Church

 to our pulpit. Pastor Rick will be preaching at Faith Reformed.

 for young adults meets in the Chapel. They will meet on the

 2nd & 4th Thursday from 6-7:30 pm now thru 21st of March.

 After March 21 they will be switching to Wednesday nights!

3RD SUNDAY OF LENT

 

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the series of messages

 entitled: “God’s Pictures” with the message: “The Feast of Weeks”.

 

Following the service next Sunday, a MISSION TRIP FUND

 RAISING DINNER will be held! The Consistory as agreed to match

 the funds raised at the dinner up to the amount needed! A delicious

 dinner is being planned! See the insert in your bulletin for details. 

 TODAY is the last Sunday to reserve your spot

 

6:00 PM The LENTEN PULPIT EXCHANGE continues as Rev.

 Bruce Osbeck, Pastor of Faith Reformed Church will be with us and

 share the message. Pastor Rick will be preaching at Beverly and

 Pastor George at Unity.

 

PRAYERS & PRAISE

 

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to the family of

 Anna Hoezee who passed away on Friday, February 15 at the age of

 94. Anna was a lifelong, faithful member of Grace having been

 baptized here as an infant.  The peace lily in the front of the

 sanctuary today was donated by her family in her memory.

 

 Our sympathies are also extended to Tom & Cathy Van Kalker upon

 the death of Tom’s father, James Van Kalker, on Monday, February

 11 at the age of 86. Services for Mr. Van Kalker were held on

 Saturday, February 16 at Fifth Reformed Church.

 

AT A RECENT MEETING OF THE ELDERS the membership of

 Eric Postema was transferred to East Paris Christian Reformed

 Church of Kentwood, MI.

 

SPECIAL DATES TO REMEMBER

 

Saturday, March 30 - ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT! Please sign

 up in the narthex if you are willing to disperse eggs, work prize

 tables, or greet. If you have volunteered to bring candy for the eggs,

 please have it to church by March 10.
 

June 10-13 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - Mark your calendar! 

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

GALAXY – The March/April/May issue of the Galaxy will soon be

 printed. If you have something you would like to contribute, please

 place it in the bin attached to the file cabinet in the main office or

 give it to Sandy Gort or Pat Ter Beek by Wed. Feb. 27th.

 

DIRECTORY ADDITIONS – One additional page has been placed in

 your mailbox. Please include that with the others you received last

 week. 

 

Toilet Paper COLLECTION for FNOW Feb. 17 – March 24 

 Toilet Paper is once again needed at Family Network of Wyoming, so  

 that a family can receive more than one roll a month. Our toilet

 paper goal is 1,250 rolls of toilet paper during this time frame. IF we

 meet this goal, a donor has agreed to give cake for coffee time on

 Easter Sunday morning following the worship service! Watch for

 sales and give as you are blessed! Thank you in advance!

 

HOPE COLLEGE MUSICAL SHOWCASE – More than 200 Hope

 College students will be featured in the 25th Annual Musical

 Showcase concert on Monday, March 4 at 8:00 pm in the DeVos

 Performance Hall. Tickets are $10.00 each and are available through

 the Hope Ticket Office at 616-396-7890.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We thank and praise God for the long life and witness of Anna Hoezee. We pray for her family as they mourn the loss.
  • We pray for all those who have recently lost loved ones. In particular we remember the Van Kalker Family.
  • Please lift up Rowin Mulder’s brother and family in your prayers. He is in mighty need of our prayers right now. 
  • We ask that you also keep Rowin & Rachel in your prayers as they are so far away. We pray also for his parents and an aunt and uncle who are doing everything they can to get him help. 
  • Please pray that Rowin's brother will be found and will acknowledge and accept the help that he needs. 
  • Please continue to pray for God to use Common Connections (Connections small groups) to connect neighbors.
  • We remember in prayer the following family or friends of our members that are ill or receiving treatments: Lola De Young, Brian Benthin, and John Hoag, Randy Veldheer.

  • Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas.
