 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 an Elder today.  Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin.  You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.

 

WELCOME

A warm welcome to our visitors and members alike.  We rejoice at the

joy Christ brought to the world so long ago.  May such joy live within

us as we worship the Lord.  Please take a moment and sign your name

and address on the Fellowship Register as it is passed today.

 

TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All kids ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

11:15 – NOON  NEW MEMBERS BELONGING CLASS will 

 meet in Pastor Rick’s office.  This is a class for people who would like

 to know more about a relationship with Christ, what it means to

 belong to the church and how one can join the church. Today’s lesson

 is “Belonging to Jesus Christ”.  This class will last for 5 sessions. 

 

OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of February is designated

 for WORDS OF HOPE.  This offering will be received today. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL class will meet in the Consistory

 Room following the morning worship service.  They cover various

 subject matter using the Sunday School Guide. 

 

4:00 PM You are invited to attend the installation service of

 Reverend Shane Floyd at Beverly Reformed Church.  Note that

 this service begins at 4:00 pm!  There will not be a service at Grace.

 

 

PRAYERS AND PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS: Joan Patterson is a patient at Blodgett

 Hospital.  Donna Oppenhuizen will undergo outpatient surgery on

 Tuesday, February 28 at St. Mary’s Hospital.  Sally Herrema is

 continuing therapy at Breton Manor. Linda De Vries Kraft underwent

 knee surgery Tuesday, February 21. Please keep these Grace

 members in your prayers as well as their families who are caring for

 them.  For all prayer requests and praise reports, please see the

 Prayer & Praise line today.

 Lasagna and Salad.  Come out to enjoy fellowship with each  

 other prior to the evening classes!

 6:30 PM SENIOR CHOIR PRACTICE. 

 6:30 PM YOUTH practice with Ms. Lorinda for the Easter Musical.

 6:45 – 8:00 PM GEMS, VICTORS, and BE BIG will meet.

 FORGIVING THOSE WHO HURT US – Class meets in

 the Consistory Room. This upcoming week we will be

 discussing the chapters "How Often?  As Often as We Need To"

 (chapter 19) and "When We Are Not Sure We Have Done It"

 (chapter 20) in Lewis Smedes' book "The Art of Forgiving –

 When You Need to Forgive and Don't Know How."  We would

 love to have you join us!  If you need a book or study guide,

 please let Lorinda know. 

 

THURSDAY, MARCH 2, 2017

 7:00 PM THURSDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY GROUP will

 meet in the Consistory Room. 

 

NEXT SUNDAY, MARCH 5, 2017

1ST SUNDAY OF LENT

 

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the People’s Choice Sermon

 Series with the message “The Trinity:  Myth or Creed?”  See the insert

 in your bulletin today. 

 

SUNDAYS AT SIX – We will be meeting at Grace for our evening

 services through the end of April.  Rev. Harvey Hertz will be 

 sharing the message.

 

6:45 – 8:00 PM YLIFE will meet.

Saturday, March 25 - Y-LIFE MISSION TRIP FUNDRAISING

 DINNER.  The Fellowship Committee is teaming up with Y-Life and

 sponsoring a Dinner.  Childcare will be provided!  Mark your

 calendar!  More information in the next couple weeks. 

 

Wednesday, March 29, 6:00 pm WEDNESDAY NIGHT

 CELEBRATION NIGHT!  The kids will be presenting the Easter

 musical “Crown Him With Many Crowns”.

AT A RECENT MEETING OF THE CONSISTORY Jon & Christy

 Cooper requested baptism for their daughter Ainsley Grace.  Baptism

 will take place in March.  Commissioned Pastor Candidate, Heather

 Dood, will be preaching on March 19 which is GEMS Sunday.  Y-Life,

 together with the Fellowship team, is planning a Mission Trip

 Fundraising dinner on March 25.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We thank and praise God for 120 years of ministry here at Grace! 
  • We are thankful today for our church, for Pastor Rick Oppenhuizen and the other leaders here at Grace at the present time and in years past.
  • We are thankful today for our Discovery Kidz!  We thank Heather Dood for all she does with the youth groups at Grace and the Crossing.  We pray for Heather as she continues her studies to become a Commissioned Pastor.
  • We thank God for the ministry of Connections.  We pray for Pastor George as he leads them each week.  We thank God for the lives that are touched by this ministry.
  • We pray today for Joan Patterson at Blodgett Hospital. 
  • Pray for Donna Oppenhuizen as she prepares for surgery on Tuesday.
  • We thank and praise God that Jerry Hendrickson was able to return to his home after recent hospitalization for pneumonia. 
  • Continue to keep Dick Postema in your prayers as he recovers and regains his strength at Waterford Place. 
  • Please be in prayer for Sally Herrema as she heals and undergoes therapy at Breton Manor.
  • We remember Linda Kraft in our prayers as she heals and begins therapy following surgery.
  • We thank and praise God for good reports that Fred Hiemstra is doing well in his recovery from heart surgery. 
  • Be in prayer for Esther Hoag who continues to have problems with her fingers.  Also please pray for Esther’s sister who suffered a stroke and is now at Mary Free Bed Hospital.
