ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 an Elder today.  Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin.  You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.

 

 WELCOME

A warm welcome to our visitors and members alike.  We rejoice at

the joy Christ brought to the world so long ago.  May such joy live

within us as we worship the Lord.  Please take a moment and sign your name

and address on the Fellowship Register as it is passed.

 

TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All children ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.

 

ORDINATION AND INSTALLATION newly elected Consistory

 members will be held today.

 For the Office of Elder: Jerry Hendrickson, Elaine Martin,

 Heather Dood. 

 Heather Dood will be ordained as required by the Commissioned

 Pastor program but will not be serving as an acting Elder at Grace.

 For the Office of Deacon:  Don Schutter, Dan Stuk

 Don Schutter will be ordained as well as installed.

 

WE EXPRESS OUR DEEP APPRECIATION for the faithful service

 by the Consistory Members who this morning relinquish their

 responsibilities: 

Dennis Bush, John Sawyer, Brian Licari, Brian Gort

 

 Please note:  Les VanWyk has agreed to take the remaining term of

 Dennis Bush through 2016.  Larry Kleymeer has agreed to continue

 to serve as an Elder through 2017. 

 

2016 CONSISTORY OFFICERS:  The Consistory Officers were

 elected as follows and will be confirmed at the January meeting.

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory room following the morning service.  All are welcome!

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

6:00 PM EVENING SERVICE – For the month of January we will be

 meeting with our friends at Faith Reformed Church, 618 – 32nd

 Street SW, Wyoming.

 

PRAYERS & PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS – Geri Ruis, Lucille Sytsema, and Anna

 Borkowski were all able to return to their homes this past week

 following hospitalization.  For all other praise reports and prayer

 requests,  see the insert in today’s bulletin.

 As a part of our continuing efforts to join forces with our sister

 churches through the Thrive initiative, you are invited to

 Newhall Reformed Church, 3746 Byron Center Rd., Wyoming

 to join with their congregation for a Bible study on the

 Book of Acts.  Rev. Daniel Kroeze will be leading this

 class.  Come to Grace for dinner, then take the short ride over

 to Newhall for this class.

NEXT WEEK, JANUARY 17, 2016

 

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the series of messages “You

 Better Believe It!”  with the message “I Believe in Salvation”. 

 

6:30 PM Y-LIFE – Meet at the Crossing.  You will also be meeting on 

 January 31st time to be determined.

Tuesday, January 19, 1:00 pm THE ELIZABETH CIRCLE will meet

 in the Consistory Room.  We will discuss Chapter 17 in our study

 book.  All women are welcome.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

DISCOVERY KIDZ VOLUNTEERS DESPERATELY NEEDED

 for the January Rotation!!  Still needed are leaders for Cooking and

 Science.  Also 3 Shepherds.  February and March rotation sign ups

 are also available.  Please sign up early! 

 

WEDNESDAY NIGHT HELP NEEDED!  Still could use another

 male helper in Victors. We have 9 boys and we are growing!  

 Preschool class looking for a teacher to sub in for Heather a couple

 times a month. If you can help at all, even only once a month, please

 see Heather. 

 

DESSERTS are once again needed for Wednesday nights.  If you can

 help out by making a dessert, please sign up on the sheet in the

 narthex.  Questions…see Tymie Boeve.

 

NURSERY – A new nursery schedule will soon be available.  If you

 would like to help, please sign up!  If you are already a volunteer…we

 appreciate you!!  No need to sign up again, we will schedule you.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

 

  • We thank our Consistory members who give of their time and talents here at Grace.  We are thankful to Pastor Rick for his care for this congregation.
  • We give praise to God for our children.  We thank Heather Dood for all she does with the youth groups at Grace and the Crossing.  We pray for Heather as she continues her studies to become a Commissioned Pastor.
  • We thank God for the ministry of Connections.  We pray for Pastor George as he leads them each week.  We thank God for the lives that are touched by this ministry.
  • Please keep Geri Ruis, Lucille Sytsema in your prayers as they have been hospitalized.
  • Pray for Anna Borkowski as she recovers from surgery.  She will be staying with her friend Julie for a bit while healing.
  • Continue to remember Karen Ver Hulst in your prayers.
  • Thank you for remembering Wes Dekker’s sister, Janet, in your prayers. Please pray that she will develop, through the Holy Spirit, a positive attitude. 
  • Please remember Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer. 
  • Please continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey.  We thank and praise God that she could come home.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris, Mr. Jim Friar.
