ELDERS INVITATION - If you have questions, concerns, joys, or
prayer needs that you would like to share, an Elder will be available
in the front of the sanctuary following the service this morning.
It is with joy we welcome you on this first Sunday of the new year! Let us lift up our minds and hearts to our loving Creator and sustainer. May the incomparable blessings that come the God alone touch each of us today. Please take a moment and sign the Fellowship Register when it is passed so we can get to know you!
TODAY AT GRACE
THIS MORNING we will begin the new year by celebrating the Lord’s
Supper. NO CHILDREN & WORSHIP, SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES, or
EVENING SERVICE will be held today. The regular schedule will
resume next Sunday.
OUR MINISTRY OF MUSIC this morning will be presented by Rachel Pence
of our congregation who will sing of the “New Jerusalem”. Our
thanks to Rachel for her part in our service today. Also, thanks to the
Choir and Praise Team for their special part in our service today and
throughout the Christmas season.

4:30 PM PRAYER GROUP will meet in Pastor Rick’s office. Everyone is
invited to join them in this special time of prayer.
SATURDAY, JANUARY 7, 2006
6:00 PM – 2nd Annual FELLOWSHIP BOWLING NIGHT at Clique Lanes.
Meet for dinner at Salvatore’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria at
6:00 pm. Bowling will follow. Cost is $3.00 per game, which
includes shoes. If you would like, bring a dessert to share
(not everyone needs to bring a dessert!) See Tymie Boeve or
Les VanWyk if you have any questions.
NEXT SUNDAY - JANUARY 8, 2006
NEXT SUNDAY the newly elected Elders & Deacons will be ordained and
installed during our morning worship service. Pastor Rick will begin
a new series “Christians in Today’s Culture” with the message “We
are Servant Leaders” from I Corinthians 3:1-23. Come and discover
how you can make a difference!
SUNDAY’S AT SIX - Join us in the Chapel for the continuation of the series
on Mark. Pastor Rick will lead a study of “The Ruler Who Serves”
based on Mark 9-16. See the insert today for the details of both the
morning and evening series of messages.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME you were able to catch up with friends at
Grace beyond “Hi, how are you doing?” after church? Starting next
week, you can join them downstairs in the nursery and chat
while the kids are in Sunday School. Coffee and cold drinks will be
provided so plan to come!

IN APPRECIATION – My sincere thanks to Pastor Rick for the hospital
visits, the Sunshine Committee for the visit and flowers, and thanks
to those who sent cards, visited at my home, and prayed for me
following my recent surgery. I am doing well! ~Stan De Witt
Thank you to Peter & Pat Cook for the beautiful Poinsettia Plants in
our sanctuary this Christmas season.
AT A RECENT ELDERS MEETING the membership of Sarah Roelofs was
transferred to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Muskegon.
SPECIAL DATES TO REMEMBER
Monday, January 9, 6:30 pm ELDERS & DEACONS will meet separately
for orientation, followed by a brief orientation meeting for
Monday, January 16, 7:00 pm PRAISE TEAM PRACTICE.
NEW MEMBERS CLASS –We are planning on beginning a class on January
15 during the Sunday School hour. Sign up in the narthex. See Shari
Dood if you have any questions.
THE METROPOLITAN CHOIR OF PRAISE, a 60-voice Christian Community
Choir, will be holding auditions on January 12, 2006. All voice parts
are needed and also instrumentalists (Drums, Bass Guitar, and
Acoustic Guitar). You are invited to join them for rehearsal (7-9 pm).
Auditions will take place immediately following rehearsal at Dutton
Christian School, 6729 Hanna Lake SE, Dutton. Contact Mary
Mc Alary at 662-8131 if you are interested.
