 casseroles for our dinner!  Come and enjoy a time of fellowship prior

 to classes!

 7:00 – 8:00 PM ADULTS

 FORGIVING THOSE WHO HURT US – Class meets in

 the Consistory Room.  This upcoming week we will be

 finishing our discussion on Chapter 11 and beginning our study

 on Chapter 12 in Lewis Smedes' book "The Art of Forgiving –

 When You Need to Forgive and Don't Know How."  We would

 love to have you join us!  If you need a book or study guide,

 please let Lorinda know.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 5, 2017

 7:00 PM THURSDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY GROUP will

 meet in the Consistory room.

 

NEXT SUNDAY, JANUARY 8, 2017

 

 NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will lead our service and share the

 Message “What Are You Crying About?” from Psalm 13. 

 ORDINATION AND INSTALLATION of newly elected Elders and

 Deacons will take place.

 

SUNDAYS AT SIX – We will be meeting at Grace for our evening

 service January 8 through the end of April.  Rev. Harvey Hertz will be  

 sharing the message each week.

 

PRAYERS AND PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS: Linda Kraft will undergo knee surgery on

 Tuesday, January 3.  Shari Dood will have outpatient hand surgery

 on Friday, January 6. For all other prayer requests and praise

 reports, please see the Prayer & Praise line in your bulletin today.

2017 CONTRIBUTION ENVELOPES for Grace members are  

 in your mailbox.  If you are not a member and wish to contribute to

 Grace Church, please call the office at 538-3100 and we will see that

 you receive envelopes.  Online giving is also available.  If you are

 interested in this, see Robin Zondervan or call the office.

 

PEOPLE’S CHOICE – Beginning in January, Pastor Rick will be

 preaching your choice of sermons.  Now is your opportunity to hear a

 message on your chosen topic or scripture.  Jot your requests down

 and put them in the offering plate of leave on the desk in the office.

Prayers & Praise Line

January 1, 2017

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We are thankful for the dawning of a new year with many new opportunities and possibilities.
  • We thank God today for the gift of His son, born in a manger on the first Christmas Day.
  • We praise God today for new life.  We are thankful for the safe delivery of Christopher Joseph Pena, son of Juan & Michelle.  Christopher was born of December 26.
  • We pray for Linda Kraft and Shari Dood as they undergo surgery this upcoming week.
  • We give praise to God for our children.  We thank Heather Dood for all she does with the youth groups at Grace and the Crossing.  We pray for Heather as she continues her studies to become a Commissioned Pastor.
  • We thank God for the ministry of Connections.  We pray for Pastor George as he leads them each week.  We thank God for the lives that are touched by this ministry.
  • Continue to keep Geri Ruis and Mary Huizen in your prayers as they have returned to their homes.
  • Please be in prayer for Char Otto.  Char has been experiencing back pain.  Please pray for answers and a relief from her pain.
  • We thank God for his faithfulness to Shirley De Bruin as she goes through Chemo treatments. We pray for strength.
  • Please continue to remember our family members who are in need of healing, comfort, and strength.  Larry Ver Merris, son of Ruth Ver Merris; Jackie, daughter in law of Roger and Phyllis Vander Sloot;  Deb Stouten, sister of Pastor Rick; Brent Kerkstra, son of Paul; Janet, sister of Wes Dekker; Lana, granddaughter of Ken & Cindy Wylie.
