WOULD YOU LIKE TO ASSIST IN RESETTLING A REFUGEE
FAMILY???? The Outreach Mission Team and Consistory have
approved befriending a ‘Karen’ family from a refugee camp in
Thailand by helping them resettle here in Wyoming. Bethany is
reserving an apartment in our area for them and our immediate task
is to furnish the apartment with furniture and household items. The
family consists of Grandma, Jae Lay, and granddaughter, Julia Win
(8 years old). Jae has been caring for her granddaughter since the
girl was two months old, when her mother died. They plan to arrive
in Grand Rapids on Thursday, January 27.
• We are still in need of many items. A new sign up sheet (reduced and easier to understand) is available on the table in the narthex. Please sign your name by the items you are willing to donate. Small items must be brought to the office across from the chapel by the beginning of this week. We will contact you about pick up of large furniture items. If you have something that is not on the basic list, jot that down on the tablet provided and Shari will call you.
• If you would like to give monetary donations, please designate that on your offering envelope.
• We also could use persons who are willing to help with cleaning and arranging the apartment. A time has not yet been set up because Bethany is having difficulty in securing an apartment.
