 WELCOME

A warm welcome to our visitors and members alike.  We rejoice at

the joy Christ brought to the world so long ago.  May such joy live

within us as we worship the Lord.  Please take a moment and sign

TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All children ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory room following the morning service.  All are welcome!

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

6:00 PM EVENING SERVICE – For the month of January we will be

 meeting with our friends at Faith Reformed Church, 618 – 32nd

 Street SW, Wyoming.

 As a part of our continuing efforts to join forces with our sister

 churches through the Thrive initiative, you are invited to

 Newhall Reformed Church, 3746 Byron Center Rd., Wyoming

 to join with their congregation for a Bible study on the

 Book of Acts.  Rev. Daniel Kroeze will be leading this

 class.  Come to Grace for dinner, then take the short ride over

 to Newhall for this class.

 

NEXT WEEK, JANUARY 31, 2016

NEXT SUNDAY Rev. Cecil Martens will lead our service and share the

 message. We will meet at Faith Ref. Church for our evening service.

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of January is designated

 for HOPE COLLEGE. This offering will be received next Sunday. 

 

Y-LIFE will meet. 

 

PRAYERS & PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS –  Sally Herrema is at Brookcrest for therapy 

 after breaking her leg and undergoing surgery.  Please keep Sally in

 your prayers!  For all other praise reports and prayer requests, see

 the insert in today’s bulletin.

 

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Judy Klein and

 her family upon the passing of their husband, father, and grandfather

 Neal Klein.  Neal passed away on Saturday, January 16 at the age of

 78.  Neal was a faithful member of Grace having served 5 terms as an

 Elder and one as a Deacon.  Services were held at Grace on Thursday

 with Pastor Rick officiating.

Prayers & Praise Line

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We thank God today for his inspired Word the Bible.  We pray that the Word of God will be shared with the world. 
  • We pray for our missionaries as they work to spread the Gospel.
  • We thank and praise God today for organizations such as the Gideons.  We thank the members of the Gideons for their tireless work and dedication.  Today in particular we pray for John

De Jong and Dale Dood, our Grace Gideons.

  • We are thankful today for the life and witness of Neal Klein.  We pray for peace and comfort for Judy and her family.
  • We give praise to God for our children.  We thank Heather Dood for all she does with the youth groups at Grace and the Crossing.  We pray for Heather as she continues her studies to become a Commissioned Pastor.
  • We thank God for the ministry of Connections.  We pray for Pastor George as he leads them each week.  We thank God for the lives that are touched by this ministry.
  • Be in prayer for Sally Herrema at Brookcrest for Therapy.
  • Please keep Lucille Sytsema in your prayers.  We pray that the healing continues and surgery will not be necessary. 
  • Pray for Anna Borkowski as she recovers from surgery. 
  • Continue to remember Karen Ver Hulst in your prayers.
  • Thank you for remembering Wes Dekker’s sister, Janet, in your prayers. Please pray that she will develop, through the Holy Spirit, a positive attitude. 
  • Please remember Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer. 
  • Please continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey.  We thank and praise God that she is now home.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris, Mr. Jim Friar.
