TODAY AT GRACE
 
TODAY WE WELCOME Rev. Vern Hettinga to our worship services. 
 Pastor Rick has been attending the Calvin College Symposium on
 Worship. People from 35 states and 17 countries have worshipped
 together in six services and numerous seminars this past week.
 
OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of January is designated for the
 High School Retreat to GENESIS.  The theme this year is
 “Connect 06”.  Our High Youth will be attending the March 3 – 5
 session at Grand Traverse Resort. 
 
 CHILDREN IN WORSHIP
 Children ages 4 – 2nd grade meet in the Fellowship
 Hall today for Children In Worship.  Children are
 dismissed during the hymn prior to the message. 
 
11:30 – 12:10 PM SUNDAY SCHOOL - There are classes available for
 all ages three years old and upward.  A nursery is available for those
 children under the age of three. PARENTS are invited to join in the
 nursery for a time of fellowship with one another while the kids are
 in Sunday School!  Coffee and cold drinks will be provided!
 
 ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
 Sunday School Guide Class will meet in the Consistory Room.  Join
 them for lively discussions relating to our Christian walk.
 Grace and the Millennium – Brad Class will lead this group in the
 Chapel.  Today – “The Two Beasts”.
 The Sunday Prayer Group will meet in Pastor Rick’s office. 
 
THE NEW MEMBERS CLASS will meet in the room opposite the Chapel.

PASTOR RICK will continue the series “Christians in Today’s Culture”
 with the message “We Are Sweet Aroma” from II Corinthians 2:12-16. 
 
SUNDAY’S AT SIX - Join us in the Chapel for the continuation of the series
 on Mark.  Pastor Rick will lead a study of “The Ruler Who Serves
 based on Mark 9-16.  Next Week: “Who Gave You the Right?” 
 
THE DOOD/ZONDERVAN Purpose Group will meet in the room opposite
 the Chapel following Sunday School next Sunday.

PRAYERS & PRAISE
 
HEALTH CONCERNS – Sandy Workman is doing well following knee
 replacement surgery on Tuesday, January 24. Herm Workman is at
 Heartland Health Care Center - Crestview (625 – 36th Street SW) 
 following a fall last Sunday.  Please keep the Workman family in
 your prayers this week.  See the Prayers & Praise Line for all the
 concerns of the Grace family.
 
IN APPRECIATION – Thank you for all of your prayers and cards
 following the loss of Paul’s stepmom and friend.  Special thanks to
 Pastor Rick and the others who stopped by the visitation.  We
 appreciate it! ~Paul, Lisa, Allyssa & Cody Braendle
 
OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Larry & Bernice Palma
 upon the death of Bernice’s father, William Assink, on Wednesday,
 January 25 at the age of 91.  Services were held Saturday in Holland.

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 You are invited to PARADISE ISLAND for a mid-winter 

 adult fellowship  dinner event on
 Saturday, February 18 from 6-9 pm. 
 The evening will temporarily release you from the
 winter blahs with a warm, tropical luau setting
 downstairs in the Fellowship Hall.  Cost will be just $10.00 per
 person and reservations are now being taken at the display in the
 narthex and downstairs at Youth Central. This evening of fun and
 fellowship is brought to you by Grace Youth Ministries and !NDEED!
 High School Youth Group.  All proceeds and donations go towards
 our March Genesis Retreat in Traverse City and also to our 2007
 mission trip to Alaska!  Don’t miss out on this exciting evening!
 
THE SPIRITUAL GROWTH TEAM is looking for a few new members!  See
 Maribeth Frontjes if you are interested in serving.
 
HELP! Our local Faith Food Pantry is in need of help.  Due to increased lack of
 donation of food, their pantry is extremely low. Following is a list of items they
 need the most:  crackers, box potatoes, pork & beans, canned fruit, instant rice,
 Spaghetti o’s and Ravioli, spaghetti sauce, Tuna Helper, jam/jelly, hand soap,
 toilet paper.  Anything else (except vegetables-they have plenty)
 would be appreciated also.
 
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN MISSIONS AND OUTREACH? 
 The Mission/Outreach Team is in need of new members.  Contact
 Shari Dood or Bill Ver Hulst if interested.
 
CRAN HILL RANCH AND CAMP GENEVA summer brochures are now
 available on the narthex table.  Grace will pay ½ the fee for your
 child to attend Camp Geneva or Cran Hill Ranch for 1 week.  Voucher
 forms are available from the office.
 
D & W NON PROFIT DAYS!  We have the opportunity once again to have
 5% of our purchases at D&W donated to Grace Youth Ministries
 when you shop at D & W anytime from now through February 5!
 Extra copies of the coupons are available on the narthex table.
 
NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR SERVICE!  RCWS has given money to Habitat
 for Humanity to build “houses in a box” here in GR for Hurricane
 victims.  Volunteers will build 2 of these homes in a Steelcase
 warehouse at 44th and Eastern.  Building will take place on Saturday,
 February 4, 11, and 18 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and also Tuesday,
 Wednesday, and Thursday of these weeks.  You do not need to be a
 skilled builder to help.  When these homes are complete, they will be
 loaded on semi-trucks and shipped to Alabama and finished on site. 
 Please check your Galaxy for more details and sign up on the table in
 the narthex.  Also, on February 4 & 11, we will be providing food for
 the workers…if you would like to donate food, help prepare it, or
 serve it, sign up on the sheet and you will be called.
