A warm welcome to our visitors and members alike.  We rejoice at

the joy Christ brought to the world so long ago.  May such joy live

within us as we worship the Lord.  Please take a moment and sign

TODAY AT GRACE

 

TODAY WE WELCOME Rev. Cecil Martens who will lead our service

 and share the message.  We thank you for being with us this Lord’s

 day!

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All children ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of January is designated

 for HOPE COLLEGE. This offering will be received today. 

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory room following the morning service.  All are welcome!

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

11:15 – 12:00 BELONGING NEW MEMBERS CLASS will meet. 

 Week 2:  “Belonging to the Church”.  This six week course will take

 place every other week.  If you are interested in knowing more about

 the Reformed Church and Grace Church in particular, this class is for

 you!  This will enable you, but not obligate you, to become a member

 here at Grace. Meet in Pastor Rick’s office.  Shari Dood will lead the

 class today.

 

6:00 PM EVENING SERVICE – For the month of January we will be

 meeting with our friends at Faith Reformed Church, 618 – 32nd

 Street SW, Wyoming.

 

Y-LIFE will meet.  See Mrs. Heather for all the details!

 for girls in grades K – 8th.  Meet in the Choir Room!

 As a part of our continuing efforts to join forces with our sister

 churches through the Thrive initiative, you are invited to

 Newhall Reformed Church, 3746 Byron Center Rd., Wyoming

 to join with their congregation for a Bible study on the

 Book of Acts.  Rev. Daniel Kroeze will be leading this

 class.  Come to Grace for dinner, then take the short ride over

 to Newhall for this class.

 7:30 PM WORSHIP TEAM MEETING.

 

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2016

 7:00 PM The Thursday Night BIBLE STUDY group will meet in

 the Consistory room.

 

NEXT WEEK, FEBRUARY 7, 2016

 

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the series “You Better

 Believe It!” with the message:  “I Find My Identity in Christ”. The

 Discovery Kidz will be with us in the service and share what they have

 been doing during their recent rotation.

 

SUNDAYS AT SIX–We will be meeting back here at Grace next week.

 

6:00 PM Y-LIFE will meet at the Crossing for our annual Super Bowl

 party.  Be sure to bring your favorite all American snack to share…

 and bring a friend or two!

 please contact the office. 

 

DESSERTS are needed for Wednesday nights.  If you can help out by

 making a dessert, please sign up on the sheet in the narthex.

VACATIONS – This week the office will be short staffed as Sue Stuk is

 on vacation.  Please make use of the answering machine and leave a

Prayers & Praise Line

January 31, 2016

 

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We thank God today for the gift of His Son, Jesus.  We are thankful for the promise of life everlasting to all who believe.
  • We praise God from whom all blessings flow!  We thank God for his unfailing love for us.
  • We pray for Rev. Cecil Martens.  We are so thankful for his ministry and his time with us today.
  • We give praise to God for our children.  We thank Heather Dood for all she does with the youth groups at Grace and the Crossing.  We pray for Heather as she continues her studies to become a Commissioned Pastor.
  • We thank God for the ministry of Connections.  We pray for Pastor George as he leads them each week.  We thank God for the lives that are touched by this ministry.
  • Continue to be in prayer for Sally Herrema as she heals and undergoes therapy.
  • Please keep Lucille Sytsema in your prayers.  We pray that the healing continues and surgery will not be necessary. 
  • Continue to remember Karen Ver Hulst in your prayers.
  • Thank you for remembering Wes Dekker’s sister, Janet, in your prayers. Please pray that she will develop, through the Holy Spirit, a positive attitude. 
  • Please remember Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer. 
  • Please continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey.
