ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 an Elder today.  Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin.  You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.

A warm welcome to our visitors and members alike.  We rejoice at the joy Christ brought to the world so long ago.  May such joy live within us as we worship the Lord.  Please take a moment and sign your name and address on the Fellowship Register as it is passed.

 

TODAY AT GRACE

 

TODAY WE CELEBRATE THE SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S

 SUPPER.  We invite all those who are members of Christ’s Church

 and have found forgiveness of sins in Him, to participate in the

 supper.  A brief Communion Service will be held in the

 Chapel following the service for anyone who was not able

 to be present during the worship

 service.  If you are aware of someone who is not here today, but

 would like to receive this sacrament, please contact the church office.

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All children ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.

 

MUSIC MINISTRY – Today we welcome Jenni Vanderson who will

 share her testimony in song today.  Jenni is a member of Calvary

 Undenominational Church.  Paul Kerkstra will accompany her on the

 piano.  Thank you, Jenni, for being with us today!

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory room following the morning service.  All are welcome!

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

6:00 PM EVENING SERVICE – For the month of January we will be

 meeting with our friends at Faith Reformed Church, 618 – 32nd

 Street SW, Wyoming.

 

6:30 – 8:00 PM Y-LIFE meets.

 

PRAYERS & PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS – Geri Ruis was a patient at Spectrum

 Downtown this past week.  Lucille Sytsema was admitted to Blodget

 Hospital.  Anna Borkowski will undergo surgery on Tuesday at

 St. Mary’s Hospital.  For all other praise reports and prayer requests,

 see the insert in today’s bulletin.

 

IN APPRECIATION – Thank you to Pastor Rick for his visits and to

 the congregation for the cards, visits, and concerns following my

 knee replacement surgery.  I appreciate it all very much.

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the series of messages “You

 Better Believe It!”  See the insert in your bulletin today.

 

ORDINATION AND INSTALLATION of newly elected Elders and

 Deacons will take place next Sunday.  Also, Heather Dood will be

 ordained as an Elder as required by the Commissioned Pastor

 Program.

 

DISCOVERY KIDZ VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for the January

 rotation.  A leader is needed for Art, Cooking, Games, Science and

 4 Shepherds. Please sign up in the narthex.

Prayers & Praise Line

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We are thankful for the dawning of a new year with many new opportunities and possibilities.
  • We thank God today for the gift of his son, born in a manger on that first Christmas day.
  • We give praise to God for our children.  We thank Heather Dood for all she does with the youth groups at Grace and the Crossing.  We pray for Heather as she continues her studies to become a Commissioned Pastor.
  • We thank God for the ministry of Connections.  We pray for Pastor George as he leads them each week.  We thank God for the lives that are touched by this ministry.
  • Please keep Geri Ruis and Lucille Sytsema in your prayers as they have been hospitalized.
  • Pray for Anna Borkowski as she will submit to surgery on Tuesday.
  • Continue to remember Karen Ver Hulst in your prayers.
  • Thank you for remembering Wes Dekker’s sister, Janet, in your prayers. Please pray that she will develop, through the Holy Spirit, a positive attitude. 
  • Please remember Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer. 
  • Please continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey.  We thank and praise God that she could come home.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris, Mr. Jim Friar.
