TODAY AT GRACE

 

TODAY – Beginning today we, as a congregation, will be encouraged to

 read through the Bible in its entirety in the year 2015.  Pastor Rick

 will prepare messages each week to coincide with the devotional book

 “Read the Bible in a Year”.  If you have not picked up a copy of the

 book, they are available on the narthex table. 

 

ORDINATION AND INSTALLATION of newly elected Consistory

 members will be held today.

 (Jenny Hendges will be ordained as well as installed)

 

WE EXPRESS OUR DEEP APPRECIATION for the faithful service

 by the Consistory members who this morning relinquish their

 responsibilities after completing their term of service:  Wes Dekker,

 Lorie Norden, Eric Wigent. (John Sawyer has agreed to remain on

 as an Elder for an additional year.)

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET.  All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory Room following the morning service today.  This class

 covers various subject matter pertaining to our Christian walk. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 the nights activities.

 6:45 – 8:00 PM

 GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) for girls in

 grades K – 8th.

 VICTORS – For boys in grades K – 8th

 BE BIG – For Preschool children.  Meet in the Nursery!

 7:00 PM THE THURSDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY GROUP  

 will meet in the Consistory room.

 

NEXT SUNDAY, JANUARY 11, 2015

 

NEXT SUNDAY – We will celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s

 Supper and also Baptism.  Pastor Rick will share the message

 “Back to Bethel”.

CONGRATULATIONS are extended to Tripp and Katie Vander Wal

 upon the birth of a son, Gerald William Vander Wal IV (Will), on

 Monday, Dec. 29.  Baby Will was a month early but weighed a healthy

 7 # 1 oz. and was 20” long!  We thank God for this precious gift of life

 and pray for his blessings on your family.

 in the Consistory room.  We will discuss Chapter 10, Isaiah 36-37,

 in our study book.  All women are welcome!

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 is a fund raiser for our Discovery Kidz. 

 

DISCOVERY KIDZ still needs a volunteer for Science for the January

 rotation.  Please see Heather if you can help! 

 

NURSERY SCHEDULES – New schedules are being made for 2015!

 Linda Emelander will continue to head this up and we are so

 thankful!  Please sign up to volunteer.  If you already volunteer, there

 is no need to sign up again!  Thank you all very much!

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We are thankful for the dawning of a new year with many new opportunities and possibilities.
  • We thank our Consistory members who give of their time and talents here at Grace. 
  • We thank and praise God for the gift of new life.  We are thankful for the birth of little Will Vander Wal, son of Tripp & Katie.
  • Please be in prayer for the new grandbabies of Dan and Sue Stuk.  Three new little babies were born this past week.  All were 7 weeks premature and are doing well, but in the NICU.  Paisleigh is the Daughter of Kaleigh & Scott.  Twins Emily & Dylan are the children of Derrek and Tanya. 
  • We pray for the families and children that come to The Crossing.  We pray for Heather as she leads them. 
  • Please pray for Pastor George and Connections. We thank God for the lives that are touched by this ministry.
  • We pray today for Lucille Sytsema as she continues the healing process and therapy following shoulder surgery.
  • Continue to keep Lola De Young and her parents, Matt & Lindsey, in your prayers. 
  • We pray for all those who are serving in the military.  In particular we pray today for Amie Pierce now back at Ft. Riley.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs. Tena DeVink,

Mrs. MaryLynn Huizen, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mr. Mac Mc Alary, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris.
