 NEXT SUNDAY – JULY 27, 2008

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will share the morning message.

OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of July is designated for Youth
for Christ, Juvenile Justice Ministry, directed by Rev. Marv
Vander Vliet. Juvenile Justice Ministry is a Core Ministry of Youth
for Christ. Their focus is on ministering to boys and girls in the
Juvenile Detention Centers as well as outreach programs to
troubled/at risk teens in our community. One of the programs of the
JJM is the Cadet Voyageurs program that meets at the Crossing each
week on Monday evening. One of the adventures they are planning
with the boys is sailing in the Chicago to Mackinaw Yacht race.
Please be in prayer for Pastor Marv as he leads this ministry. This
special offering will be received next Sunday.

NEXT SUNDAY EVENING we will travel together to Sandy Pines to hear the
Triumphant Quartet. Meet at church at 4:30 pm.

CHOIR MEMBERS – Save Saturday, August 9 for the annual Choir Picnic
at Paul’s cottage. All Senior Choir, and Men’s and Women’s Chorus
members and their spouses are invited to join. Come anytime after
1:00 pm. Supper is at 5:00 pm. Bring a dish to pass.

“SCHOOL KITS” Service Project – As you all know, we are participating
in the RCWS School Bag project. Many school bags have been sewed
and are being sewed. Also, supplies for these bags have been coming
in…for those of you who are planning on helping fill our bags, the
greatest need is for paper …each bag requires three – 70 count
spiral or tape bounds pads of 8x10 ½ ruled paper, or pads with 200
– 210 sheets of ruled paper. (No loose-leaf or filler paper) and
pencils with erasers, and scissors (blunt, with rounded tip). Our
church deadline for this project is September 14.

to this we are partnering with WCSG 91.3 FM radio station to supply
area kids with school supplies (some of these children are our own
Club 3:16 kids.) This “Class Act Backpack Drive” will officially
begin on July 21 and continue until September 2. Note: this
is an area event so we do not have to supply a huge amount of
supplies…we can help in the amount YOU want to give. We will have
a box here at church where you can deposit any supplies that you
wish to contribute. Suggested items are glue, pencils, crayons,
trapper keepers, backpacks, pens, rulers, paper, erasers, and scissors.
On Thursday, August 21 Grace has agreed to send volunteers to
WCSG to stuff backpacks with supplies, so they are ready to give to
the children. We will need some of you to volunteer to help. Then on
August 30, at a Club 3:16 Family Picnic, you are invited to come and
give backpacks to those Club 3:16 children who have registered and
are eligible to receive school supplies.

PRAYER WALKS in the neighborhood of Grace are taking place on
Monday evenings, Tuesday morning, Wednesday evening, and
Saturday morning once a month (on the week prior to and including
the 3rd Saturday). More walkers are welcome. Sign up on the form in
the narthex.
