TODAY AT GRACE

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All kids ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.  Today we

 begin our Summer Session “Cooking with Jesus”!  Our Theme

 verse is “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do

 good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” 

 Ephesians 2:10.  Today we will learn about the Fruits of the Spirit 

 and why they are important. 

 Two Shepherds are still needed for the weeks of July 31,

 and August 7, 14, and 21.  Please sign up on the narthex

 table or see Heather. 

 

OUR SPECIAL MUSIC today is presented by Tinna VanWyk of our

 congregation.  Thank you Tinna for your contributions to our service

 this morning.

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

6:00 PM JOINT EVENING WORSHIP – We will be meeting at

 FAITH Reformed Church (618 32nd St SW, Wyoming)

 tonight for worship!

 

PRAYERS AND PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS –  Keith Baker will undergo outpatient

 gallbladder surgery on Tuesday, July 26.  See the Prayers & Praise

 Line for all other prayer requests and praise reports.

 

IN APPRECIATION – We want to thank everyone for their prayers,

 cards, visits to the hospital, and a special thank you to Pastor Rick

 for his many visits.  My ability to recover from my serious heart

 ailment goes to show the power of prayer!  ~Bob & Shirley Tofferi

 

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Linda & Ron Kraft

 upon the sudden death of Linda’s son, Robert De Vries, on Thursday,

 July 14 at the age of 48.  Services were held on Monday, July 18 with

 Pastor Rick officiating.

 

NEXT SUNDAY, JULY 31, 2016

 

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the series “You Better

 Believe It” with the message:  “I Believe in Peace”.  For our evening

 service we will meet at Faith Reformed Church.  Beginning in August

 we will be here at Grace for our evening service.

 

OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of July is designated for

 Cran Hill Ranch.  It will be received next week.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

PRAISE TEAM – will practice TOMORROW, July 25, 7:00 pm. 

 

BACKPACK DRIVE – We will be combining with Beverly Reformed

 Church for the 2016 Operation Backpack!  Backpacks will be

 distributed to those who visit the food truck at Beverly on August 11. 

 Start shopping now for sales on backpacks and supplies. Please have

 your donations to Grace by July 27th. 

 

FELLOWSHIP TIME COOKIES – Thank you to everyone who has

 volunteered to help set up cookies and punch for us on Sunday

 morning.  A new schedule is in the narthex that covers the next few

 weeks.  Please sign up for a date that is convenient for you!  You do

 not have to make the cookies…just set up and clean up!

Prayers & Praise Line

July 24, 2016

 

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We are so thankful today for Christian Camps such as Cran Hill Ranch and Camp Geneva and the counselors that spend the summer with the kids.  We are thankful that our Grace kids have the opportunity to spend a week at camp.  We pray that many lives may be touched through the time spent there.
  • We remember in our prayers our Discovery Kidz as they go through the summer months.  We pray for fun times, discovery, and a closer relationship to Jesus. 
  • We pray for Pastor George and Connections and for the youth and adults that attend each week. We pray for Connections as they reach out to the neighborhood through summer block parties and other activities through the week. 
  • We pray today for all those who have recently lost loved ones.  In particular we pray for Linda & Ron Kraft.
  • Please keep McLain Grimm in your prayers as she heals after falling from a trampoline.
  • Remember Keith Baker in your prayers as he undergoes surgery on Tuesday.
  • Please continue to keep Sandy Workman, Bob Tofferi, and Sally Herrema in your prayers.  We pray for continued healing and a complete return to health and strength. 
  • Please continue to be in prayer for Shirley De Bruin as she undergoes chemotherapy.
  • We continue to keep Tymie Boeve in our prayers.  We pray for understanding, encouragement, continued healing and strength. Also, please remember Tymie’s mom in your prayers.  She has just recently been diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer.
  • Continue to remember Karen Ver Hulst in your prayers.
  • We ask for prayers for Wes Dekker’s sister, Janet as she has had a setback due to recent surgery. 
  • Please keep Brent Kerkstra, son of Paul, in your prayers.  Prayers for a complete return to health and wellness.
  • Please continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey. 
  • Continue to lift up Josh Sawyer in prayer as he is at the Great Lakes Naval Station for A School. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Betty Figueroa, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris, Mr. Jim Friar.
