It’s ZOO DAYS at DISCOVERY KIDZ! This week:  It’s all about

 the Elephant.  Elephants are strong creatures but as strong as they

 are, they are stronger together.  They move in herds to protect their

 own.  We are stronger when we unite together as believers, but when 

 one goes astray, they become vulnerable to attack from the outside!


Memory Verse this week:  “How good and pleasant it is 

when God’s people live together in unity.”  Psalm 133:1


THE MINISTRY OF MUSIC today is presented by Ruth Tacoma and

 her daughter and granddaughters,  Janet, Ellie & Mandy Dekkinga. 

 Thank you all so much for sharing with us today. 


OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of July is designated for

 CRAN HILL RANCH/CAMP GENEVA.  This special offering will

 be received this morning.


A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.


SUNDAYS AT 6:00 - We will be meeting with Faith Reformed

 Church, 618  32nd Street for the remainder of the summer!  Please

 come join us there!




HEALTH CONCERNS – Please be in prayer for Anna Borkowski who

 will undergo outpatient surgery on Thursday at St. Mary’s Hospital.

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Jim & Linda

 Emelander and family upon the death of Linda’s dad, John Postema

 on Monday, July 20 at the age of 82.  Services were held yesterday at

 Walker United Reformed Church.


IN APPRECIATION:  To family and friends of Grace Church: Thank

 you for the prayers, cards, calls, food brought in, flowers, visits, and

 other deeds of kindness.  Special thanks to Pastor Rick for his visits.

NEXT SUNDAY Rev. Al & Sue Schreuder will be here to share with us

 as they retire after serving 35 years in Chiapas, Mexico.  Pastor Al will

 be sharing the message:  “Growing the Church” from Acts 1:1-5 and

 Acts 14:21-28. 




SAVE THE DATE!  - Discovery Kidz are hosting an all-church

 potluck at the John Ball Zoo on Sunday, September 13 following the

 morning service.  The kidz summer session theme is …at the Zoo, so

 this will be a fun wrap up of that session.  More details to follow.


DISCOVERY KIDZ shepherds are still needed for August 1, 16, & 30. 

 It is just a one week commitment.  Won’t you please consider helping

 out?  Sign-up sheets are on the narthex table.  Thank you!


THE CHOIR PICNIC scheduled for August 1 as been cancelled.  See

 Paul if you have any questions. 


FNOW (Family Network of Wyoming) is in urgent need of toilet paper

 once again!  We will be collecting it here for a few weeks if you would

 like to donate. Thanks so much!

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We thank and praise God for Christian Camps and Counselors!  In particular we pray today for Cran Hill Ranch and Camp Geneva. We are thankful that 8 of our Grace kids have had the opportunity to spend a week at Cran Hill Ranch.
  • Please continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey (nee Foster).  There was a great response to the Bone Marrow Drive.  We pray that Lola’s match will be found. 
  • Remember those who have lost loved ones in your prayers.  We pray today for Jim & Linda Emelander following the loss of Linda’s father.
  • Please be in prayer for Karen Ver Hulst as she regains her strength.
  • We think of and pray for Anna Borkowski as she undergoes surgery this coming week.
  • Continue to keep Heather Dood in your prayers as she begins the process of becoming a Commissioned Pastor.
  • We pray today for Pastor George and his work at Connections.  We pray for the upcoming Block parties and the many activities and groups at the Crossing.
  • Please pray for Lorie Norden’s cousin, Tim.  He is now residing at Trillium Woods under the care of Faith Hospice.
  • Thank you for remembering Wes Dekker’s sister, Janet, in your prayers. Please pray that they will be able to restrain any cancer left in her system. 
  • Please remember Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer.
  • We pray today for Jeff and Chelsea Lampen as they prepare to serve in Romania. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mr. Mac Mc Alary, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris.

As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write them down and include them in your prayers for our congregation this week.Please keep the church informed of your prayer needs and praise reports.
