TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET.  All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.

 

ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 an Elder today.  Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin.  You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for ALPHA, Pastor George and CONNECTIONS.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in

 the Consistory Room following the morning service today.  This class

 covers various subject matter pertaining to our Christian walk.

HEALTH CONCERNS – Keep Phyllis Vander Sloot in your prayers as

 she will undergo surgery on Tuesday, March 18 at St. Mary’s

 12:00 NOON – 7:30 PM  ALPHA HOLY SPIRIT DAY.

 The entire congregation is invited to join in on this day.

 Some of the subjects covered are:  Who is the Holy Spirit?

 What does the Holy Spirit Do?  How Can I Be Filled with

 the Holy Spirit?  How Can I Make the Most of the Rest of

 My Life?  Meals will be provided!  Please sign up in the sheet

 in the narthex if you would love to be a part of this day.

3rd  SUNDAY OF LENT

GEMS SUNDAY

 

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the Lenten series 

 “Wandering in Your Wilderness”.  See the insert in your bulletin for

 all the details.  We will also celebrate with our GEMS! The girls will

 be a part of the worship service and tell us about their theme this year

 and what they have been doing.  Our SPECIAL OFFERING for the

 month of March is designated for the GEMS organization and will be

 received next week.

 

Following the mornings service Y-LIFE is sponsoring a SPAGHETTI

 DINNER!  This will be a fund raiser for our Cran Hill Retreat! 

 Please come out and invite your friends!

 

SUNDAYS AT SIX - Join us for the 6:00 pm evening service for the

 Study “UNDERSTANDING YOUR BIBLE”.

 

DATES TO REMEMBER

 

Y-LIFE YOUTH – We will meet on Friday, March 21 at 6:00 pm to

 prep and get things ready for the Fund Raiser dinner on Sunday

 the 23rd.  Everyone please plan to be there!  Also you will need to be

 at church on the day of the dinner at 9 am!!

 HUNT.  Egg stuffers are needed and well as candy donations to

 fill the eggs (think small - peanut free please).  See Heather if you can

 help fill eggs.  Donations can be dropped off at the youth desk.

 ALSO NEEDED:  Help on the day of the hunt.  Needed are

 greeters, prize table workers, and egg placers.  See the

 volunteer sign-up sheet on the narthex table.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

DISCOVERY KIDZ need volunteers for the April rotation.  This is

 only a 3 week rotation (No Discovery Kidz on Easter Sunday). 

 Needed are teachers for: Art, Cooking, and Theater.  Also 4

 Shepherds.  Sign up in the narthex or see Heather.

 

PARKING LOT RE-CONSTRUCTION – Our parking lot is in dire

 need of attention.  If you would like to help fund this major project,

 donations will be welcomed!  Just designate “Building Fund” on your

 offering envelope. 

 

ALPHA MEALS –  Needed for Saturday, March 22 are:  Soups, Lettuce

 Salads, and Bread/Rolls.  All food will need to be at the Grace

 Kitchen by 11 am.  Sign up on the sheet in the narthex today!

 THANK YOU to everyone who has donated food for us!! 

 

TOILET PAPER is being collected for FNOW.  Boxes are at the

 entrance doors for your donations.

 

JOB POSTINGS – the RCA has posted two available positions.  One

 for an Administrative Assistant and one for an Information

 Technology Systems and Project Manger.  Details are posted on the

 bulletin board downstairs.

Prayers & Praise Line

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We thank God today for his unfailing love for us.
  • We are so thankful today for our Discovery Kidz.  We pray that they will have a meaningful worship time together.  We thank and praise God for Heather Dood, our Children & Youth Leader.  We pray for her as she makes plans for activities such as the Community Easter Egg Hunt and VBS in addition to her activities with Dicovery Kidz and Y-Life.
  • We pray today for Pastor Rick as he begins a new Lenten series.  We thank God for his faithfulness in leading our congregation.
  • Please be in prayer for the Alpha Classes as they conclude their sessions with the Holy Spirit day on Saturday. 
  • Keep Phyllis Vander Sloot in your prayers as she undergoes surgery this week.
  • There are many friends and family of our church members that need your prayers this week.  Please continue to pray for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey and Jennifer Kirkse, granddaughter of Mary Huizen, as she battles cancer.  Also, Barb, friend of Della Sawyer, undergoing chemotherapy, Jon Stouten after being diagnosed with Crohns disease, Rose Borkowski, mother of Anna, who has discovered a tumor in her throat and Julie, friend of Anna, whose husband has brain cancer; Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer and John Dekker, brother of Wes, as he is facing sight loss.
  • We pray for all those who are serving in the military.  Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs Miriam Schrotenboer, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.

 

As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write them down and include them in your prayers for our congregation this week. Please keep the church informed of your prayer needs and praise reports.
