We are so glad to have you worship with us during this season of Lent.  During this season we are all together in need of diving forgiveness, in need of power to lead a more faithful Christian life.  Whatever led you to our church today, we believe God rejoices in having you in this place.  Please take a moment and sign your name and address on the Fellowship  Register as it is passed today.




9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All kids ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. 


THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of March is designated for

 Western Seminary. This offering will be received today. 


ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 an Elder today.  Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin.  You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.


A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.


THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL class will meet in the Consistory

 Room following the morning worship service.  They cover various

 subject matter using the Sunday School Guide. 


SUNDAYS AT SIX – We will be meeting at Grace for our evening

 Please plan to come for the Children’s musical “Crown Him with

 Many Crowns”.  They have been working on their songs for some

 time now and are excited to present this to their parents and the

 Grace Church family.  Dinner will follow the presentation. 


 6:30 PM SENIOR CHOIR PRACTICE in the Choir Room!




NEXT SUNDAY we will celebrate the Sacrament of Communion. 

 Pastor Rick will continue with the People’s Choice Sermon Series.

HEALTH CONCERNS: Lon Gerbers underwent knee replacement

 surgery on Friday, March 24.  Keep him in your prayers as he heals.

 Thank you to Pastor Rick and everyone who visited, prayed for me,

 sent cards, and other acts of kindness shown after my

 hospitalization and recovery.  They are all so appreciated.

 A heartfelt thank you to our Grace family for your love, prayers,

 visits, cards, and so many other acts of care and concern following

 the hospitalization and homegoing of our mom.  Thank you to

 Pastor Rick for all he has done.  A special thank you to the kitchen

 crew for your loving, hard work on the luncheon.  Thank you to

 each of you who knew her, loved her, and shared your lives with her

 over the years.  We are thankful for her victory in Jesus and her

 upon the death of his brother in law, George Springvloed, on Friday,

 March 17, at the age of 75.

 Easter Cantata “UP FROM THE GRAVE”.


Thursday, April 13, 7:00 pm MAUNDY THURSDAY Service

 We will be remembering the steps to Calvary through a special

 Tenebrae worship service.  Communion will be served. 


Saturday, April 15 – EASTER EGG HUNT.  Watch for sales on candy! 

 Donations will be appreciated!


Sunday, April 16 – 10:00 am EASTER CELEBRATION!





CONSISTORY: It was a great pleasure for the Elders to welcome

 Natalie Ayers and Riley Dood to share their Confession of Faith in

 Jesus Christ and Lorinda and Ron Vander Werp to reaffirm their

 faith in Jesus Christ.  They will all be received publically on Easter

 morning.  At this meeting Natalie Ayers also requested that her infant

 daughter, Morgan Elizabeth be baptized.  This will also take place on

 Easter morning.


 Members of the Connections Steering Team were present to report

 on the activities of Connections. They are requesting that prayer

 requests from Connections be included in our bulletin in support of

 them.  They are also looking forward to starting their own worship

 service in the Grace building, possibly in the chapel, in late July or

 early August at approximately 12:45 pm.  Connections will be

 finalizing a formal request. 


THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE met to consider the naming of a

 Transition Team.  Therefore, we would ask if there are any members

 of the congregation that would be willing to be considered to serve on

 this important team?  If you are interested in serving, please contact

 executive committee representative, Larry Kleymeer.

Prayers & Praise Line

March 26, 2017

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We think today of our children who are preparing for their Easter Musical this coming week. We pray that they have learned more about the Easter story through their songs.  We pray for their families and are thankful that they send their children to our Wednesday night activities each week.  We pray for Lorinda as she leads their practices and their program on Wednesday.
  • We thank and praise God today for the youth that come to the The Crossing after school program.  We pray as they grow and learn more about Jesus.  We pray for Heather Dood as she leads them.
  • We thank God for the ministry of Connections.  We pray for Pastor George as he leads them each week and as they transition over to Calvary for their Thursday evening dinners.  We thank God for the lives that are touched by this ministry.
  • We think today of those who have recently lost loved ones.  In particular we pray today for Ron Lankheet and Brian & Sandy Gort. 
  • We pray for Lon Gerbers following knee replacement surgery. 
  • Continue to keep all those recovering from surgeries and/or undergoing therapy.  We remember Mary Huizen recovering at her daughters home, Lorie Norden, Dick Postema, Sally Herrema, Linda Kraft.  We are thankful for the progress they have made.
  • Please continue to remember our Grace members and members of their families who are in need of healing, comfort, and strength.  Esther Hoag; Mary Huizen; Char Otto; Shirley De Bruin; Larry Ver Merris, son of Ruth Ver Merris; Deb Stouten, sister of Pastor Rick; Brent Kerkstra, son of Paul; Janet, sister of Wes Dekker; Lana, granddaughter of Ken & Cindy Wylie; Brenym Pell, grandson of Ron & Marcia Berends.
