TODAY AT GRACE

 

  9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET.  All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. We welcome

 the kids to our service this morning.  Thank you for sharing with us

 what you have been learning in Discovery Kidz this past rotation!

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for ALPHA, Pastor George and CONNECTIONS.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in

 the Consistory Room following the morning service today.  This class

 covers various subject matter pertaining to our Christian walk. 

 

6:45 – 8:00 PM Y-LIFE meets at the Crossing.

 

PRAYERS & PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS –  Jim Herrema was hospitalized in Florida

 this past week.  He was released on Wednesday and they are expected

 to return to MI this weekend.  Please pray for safe travels as they

 make their way back home.  Phyllis Vander Sloot is home.  Please

 keep her in your prayers as she will be facing surgery in the future.

 The entire congregation is invited to join in on this day.  Some of the

 subjects covered are:  Who is the Holy Spirit?  What does the Holy

 Spirit Do?  How Can I Be Filled with the Holy Spirit?  How Can I

 Make the Most of the Rest of My Life?  Meals will be provided! 

 Please sign up in the sheet in the narthex if you would love to be a

 part of this day.

 

Sunday, March 23 – GEMS SUNDAY!  Our girls will be a part of the

 worship service and tell us about their theme this year and what they

 have been doing.  Our SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of

 March is designated for the GEMS organization.

 

Sunday, March 23 – Y-LIFE is sponsoring a SPAGHETTI DINNER

 following the morning worship service. This will be a fund raiser for

 our Cran Hill Retreat!  Please come out and invite your friends!

 

Monday, March 24, 7:00 PM CARING SHEPHERD TRAINING.

 

Saturday, April 19 GRACE ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT.  Egg

 stuffers are needed and well as candy donations to fill the eggs (think

 small - peanut free please).  See Heather if you can help fill eggs. 

 Donations can be dropped off at the youth desk.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

PARKING LOT RE-CONSTRUCTION – This snow will be going

 away at some point in time!!  Our parking lot is in dire need of

 attention.  If you would like to help fund this major project,

 donations will be welcomed!  Just designate “Building Fund” on your

 offering envelope.  You may also use pew envelopes with “Building

 Fund” designated.

 

ALPHA MEALS –  See the sign-up sheet in the narthex for a spot that

 will work for you.  You can volunteer to bring a salad, dessert, for part

 of the main dish.  Thank you all so much for helping! 

 

THE NEXT GALAXY will soon be published.  Articles are due on

 Thursday, March 6.  You can place your articles in the bin in the

 office or give them to Pat Ter Beek or Sandy Gort.

 

TOILET PAPER is being collected for FNOW.  Boxes are at the

 entrance doors for your donations.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • Today we pray for the missionaries we support who spread the word throughout the globe:  Keith & Mary Beavon, Wycliffe Bible Translators; Paul & Dori Hoekstra, Talking Bibles; Rev. Murray & Carol Moerman, The Outreach Group, British Columbia; Rev. Alan & Sue Schreuder, Chiapas, Mexico; Jacob & Sharon Moss, Jackson County Ministries.  We thank them for their service.
  • Keep Rachel Mulder in your prayers.  Rachel is traveling to China to recruit students for Grand Rapids Christian Schools. Please pray that her efforts will be fruitful and she will have safe travels.  We also pray for Rowin and the children here at home. 
  • Please be in prayer for the Alpha Classes taking place. We thank God for the participants, the volunteers, all those who are a part of these classes.  We pray for the plans being made to invite many others to attend the Holy Spirit day.
  • There are many friends and family of our church members that need your prayers this week.  Please continue to pray for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey and Jennifer Kirkse, granddaughter of Mary Huizen, as she battles cancer.  Also, Barb, friend of Della Sawyer, undergoing chemotherapy, Jon Stouten after being diagnosed with Crohns disease, Rose Borkowski, mother of Anna, who has discovered a tumor in her throat and Julie, friend of Anna, whose husband has brain cancer; Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer and John Dekker, brother of Wes, as he is facing sight loss.
  • We pray for all those who are serving in the military.  Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink,Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs Miriam Schrotenboer, Mrs RuthVer Merris.

 

As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write them down and include them in your prayers for our congregation this week. Please keep the church informed of your prayer needs and praise reports.
