TODAY AT GRACE

TODAY we welcome Rev. Eildert Zwart, former Pastor of Beverly

 Reformed Church, now retired.  Thank you Pastor Zwart for being

 with us this Lord’s day.

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET.  All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George and CONNECTIONS.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in

 the Consistory Room following the morning service today.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all who showed their support at the Youth

 Spaghetti Dinner.  Over $800.00 was raised!! We not only will be able to

 have the kids go to the retreat at no cost to them, but it will cover food

 and additional activities at the ranch.  Thank you for blessing our Youth

 Fellowship Hall followed by the Veggie Tales

 “Veggies in Space” movie event for the kids

 and their parents at the Crossing. 

 Join us for this “out of this world event”!

 meet in the Consistory Room.

 

NEXT WEEK, APRIL 6, 2014

5th  SUNDAY OF LENT & COMMUNION

 

NEXT SUNDAY we will celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. 

 Pastor Rick will continue the Lenten Series, “WANDERING IN YOUR

 WILDERNESS” with the message: “WATER FROM THE ROCK”. 

 

Join us at 6:00 pm for the study “UNDERSTANDING YOUR BIBLE.”

 HUNT.  Egg stuffers are needed and well as candy donations to

 fill the eggs (think small - peanut free please).  See Heather if you can

 help fill eggs.  Donations can be dropped off at the youth desk.

 ALSO NEEDED:  Help on the day of the hunt.  Needed are

 greeters, prize table workers, and egg placers.  See the

 volunteer sign-up sheet on the narthex table.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of March was designated

 for the GEMS Organization.  It was received last Sunday on GEMS

 Sunday, but you can put your special offering envelope in regular

 offering plate today as well!

 

DISCOVERY KIDZ need volunteers for the April rotation.  This is

 only a 3 week rotation (No Discovery Kidz on Easter Sunday). 

 Needed are teachers for: Art and Cooking.  Also 3 Shepherds.  Sign

 up in the narthex or see Heather.

 

PARKING LOT RE-CONSTRUCTION – Our parking lot is in dire

 need of attention.  If you would like to help fund this major project,

 donations will be welcomed!  Just designate “Building Fund” on your

 offering envelope.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We thank and praise God today for Rev. Cecil Martens who is celebrating 60 years in ministry!  If you would like to send Pastor Martens a card his address is:  7438 Belvue Lane, Jenison, 49428.
  • As we are in this season of Lent, we ask God to prepare our heart and soul for this most significant time of the year.
  • We thank God today for our many blessings.  For the blessing of family, homes, work, and a place to worship freely.
  • We are thankful for our children today.  We pray for God’s blessing on them as they worship in Discovery Kidz.  We pray for Heather as she leads them. We thank the many volunteers that devote themselves to our kids.
  • There are many friends and family of our church members that need your prayers this week.  Please continue to pray for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey.  Also, Barb, friend of Della Sawyer, undergoing chemotherapy, Jon Stouten after being diagnosed with Crohns disease, Rose Borkowski, mother of Anna, who has discovered a tumor in her throat and Julie, friend of Anna, whose husband has brain cancer; Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer.
  • We pray for all those who are serving in the military.  Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink,Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs Miriam Schrotenboer, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.

 

As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write them down and include them in your prayers for our congregation this week. Please keep the church informed of your prayer needs and praise reports.
