THE WORSHIP TEAM will meet briefly following the service in

 Pastor Rick’s office. 


A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

NO EVENING SERVICE will be held at Grace tonight.




HEALTH CONCERNS –  Ken Wylie had surgery Monday to put in a 

 stent after suffering a heart attack.  Surgery went well and he is now

 home.  For all other prayer requests and praise reports, see the

 Prayers & Praise Line in your bulletin today. 


IN APPRECIATION -  “Thank you to my Grace family for the

 wonderful celebration last week.  A special thank you to all the

 “behind the scenes” help putting the evening and the dinner

 together.  Thank you to the Choir, Consistory, & Congregation for

 the gifts and beautiful quilt.  I am so appreciative of all your love

June 8 – PENTECOST SUNDAY!  Our special offering is designated

 for the “ONE SUNDAY PENTECOST OFFERING” which is an

 RCA offering for new churches in our classis.  Our offering will be

 designated for CONNECTIONS.  For our evening service, we will

 join together for a Pentecost service with our sister churches. 


June 9-12, 6:00 – 8:15 pm VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 

 The theme this year is  “FUN FAIR – WHERE GOD’S WORLD

 COMES TOGETHER!”  Plan to attend the informational meeting

 next Sunday following the morning service.  See the insert in your

 bulletin for information on the volunteer positions available! 




COOKIE DONATIONS NEEDED! Once again we will have cookies

 and coffee on the patio during the summer months.  If you would be

 willing to bake cookies for this time, please sign up on the sheet in

 the narthex.  You will be called to schedule your time.  If you have

 any questions, please see Tymie Boeve.  Reminder…our church is

 PEANUT FREE.  Thanks!


OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of May is designated for a

 Grace Mission Trip tentatively scheduled for this fall.  This offering

 will be received May 25.



 opportunity once again to make up care kits for Church World

 Service.  This will also be designated as the MISSION PROJECT

 for VBS this year.  We would like to collect as much as possible

 ahead of time, then the children will contribute and assemble the kits.

 We will be collecting for the Hygiene Kits.  Needed are: hand towels

 (16 x 28), washcloth, wide tooth comb, nail clippers, bath size bar of

 soap (in individual wrapper) toothbrush (in packaging), band-aids

 (standard size), one gallon plastic zip lock bag. Boxes will be placed at

 the entrances for your donations.  Thank you!


CHURCH WORLD SERVICE (CWS) Learn and Serve Bus Trip

 to New Windsor, MD and Gettysbury PA November 3 – 7. 

 This is a hands on, educational mission opportunity volunteering in

 the warehouse where CWS kits and blankets are collected, packed,

 and shipped to those in need.  You will also learn about fair trade and

 life changing work of SERRV as you volunteer in the international

 gift shop.  More information is available on the narthex.


THE OTHER WAY MINISTRIES is hosting a Spring Open House on

 Tuesday, May 20 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, with brief remarks at 6 pm. 

 See their renovated spaces, meet staff and neighbors.


VOLUNTEER at Food Truck Distribution Site – Teresa Dood has asked

 for volunteers to help distribute food one day a month at Parkview

 Elementary School.  See the list on the narthex table and sign up to

 volunteer if interested.  Questions?  See Bill Ver Hulst.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We thank and praise God for our mothers, grandmothers and other women who hold a special place in our hearts.
  • We think today of our families near and far.  We thank God for the many loving relationships that we have.
  • We pray today for the students of our church, at Club, and Connections as their school year is coming to an end and summer plans are being made.
  • We thank and praise God today for new growth, nice weather, and warm sunshine.
  • We pray for our Grace Discovery Kidz as they worship today.
  • We pray for Heather Dood as she prepares for this year’s Vacation Bible School.  We pray for those who may be thinking of volunteering, and the children that will come.
  • Prayers are offered today for those who have recently lost loved ones. 
  • Please be in prayer for Rowin Mulder who is in the Netherlands through May 20.  Also keep Rachel and the children in your prayers.
  • We pray for Doug Grimm as he begins rehab following hip surgery.
  • We pray today for Mary Huizen.  May her healing be swift and complete.  We offer prayers of thanks that she was able to return to her own home.
  • There are many friends and family of our church members that need your prayers this week.  Please continue to pray for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey.  Also, Barb, friend of Della Sawyer, undergoing chemotherapy; Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer; and Caitlin, friend of Abbey Licari, diagnosed with Leukemia.
  • We pray for all those who are serving in the military.  Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.


As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write them down and include them in your prayers for our congregation this week. Please keep the church informed of your prayer needs and praise reports.
