 TODAY AT GRACE

THIS MORNING the Mc Comb work group will have the opportunity to
share their experiences and pictures with us. The 15 persons who
went to McComb wish to thank the congregation for their prayers
(especially the prayer partners) and support – we could feel your
prayers and support daily.


CHILDREN & WORSHIP
Children ages 3 & 4 years meet in Fellowship Hall with
Worship Leaders Heather Dood and Hennie Rosema.
Children K – 2nd Grade meet in the choir room with
Worship Leader Elaine Martin and Sandy Farris.


11:20 AM–12:20 PM SUNDAY SCHOOL - There are classes available for
all ages three years old and upward. A nursery is available for those
children under the age of three.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
Sunday School Guide Class will meet in the Consistory Room. Join
them for lively discussions relating to our Christian walk.
Songs and Psalms – Brad Class will lead this group in the Chapel.
Today, and for the rest of May, we will look at the Song of Songs.
You Were Shaped For Serving God – Meet at the Crossing.

7:00 – 9:00 PM HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP.

 PRAYERS & PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS –Ade Peterson is home after hospitalization this
week. Ann Rozema is back at Brookcrest after undergoing
outpatient surgery earlier this week. Please keep these persons and
their families in your prayers as well as those listed on the Prayers &
Praise Line in your bulletin today.

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to:

Les VanWyk and daughters, Jen, Dena, and Laura and their families,
upon Jan’s homegoing on Thursday, May 10, at the age of 52.
Visitation and service time will be announced today. Jan fought a
good fight and now has experienced the ultimate healing touch.
Thanks be to God for her eternal life in Him.

Joan Emaus and family upon the death of her sister, Arlyce
Beukelman, on Monday, May 7 in California. Please keep
Joan in your prayers as she is traveling to California for the services.

May our God be near all those who are grieving and
comfort you with His Spirit.

 NEXT WEEK – MAY 20, 2007

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will share messages at both the morning
service and the evening chapel service. This week will be the last
week for Sunday School classes for the summer months.

THE CHILDREN will end the Sunday School season with a celebration at
the Crossing during the Sunday School hour. Children meet in the
Fellowship Hall and you will be brought to the Crossing for games
and a cookout!

VBS MEETING – For all those who wanted to be a part of VBS that missed
the first meeting, please meet today in the Sanctuary following the
morning service. There will also be a special meeting for ALL CREW
LEADERS during this time, even if you were at the 1st meeting.

6:00 PM GRACE GIFTED will be held at the Crossing. Darrell will share
the message in a more contemporary worship experience.
The traditional chapel service will also be held.


 MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

EAGLE SCOUT COURT OF HONOR – Brad Beadle would like to thank the
congregation at Grace for being so supportive in his Boy Scouting
endeavors and would like to invite the members of Grace to his
Eagle Scout Court of Honor this Saturday, May 19, 2007 at
4:00 pm at Grace.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY – If you would like to help build the local RCA
sponsored Habitat home, fill in one of the forms on the narthex table.

OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE – Saturday, June 2 from 9 am – 1 pm (or later)
you can help reorganize the Family Network of Wyoming Food Pantry.
Family Network has acquired more space so they need to rearrange
their shelving and supplies. About 10 volunteers are needed to box
and move food and supplies as well as tear down, move and rebuild
shelving units. A group will leave Grace at 8:50 am and drive
together to Family Network, 2575 – 28th Street (just west of Byron
Center). If you cannot come at that time, just come for a couple
hours when you can. Basically you can pick your own hours. There is
a free lunch to anyone who comes to help. Join us for a fun time of
serving in our community. A sign up sheet is in the narthex, or call
Shari at 538-3100.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for help with Club 3:16 this summer. Tutors are
needed on Tuesdays for grades 3-8. Volunteers are needed to help
with Club 3:16 lunches the first and third Thursdays of each month
from 12-2 and Club 3:16 FAMILY dinners the second and fourth
Thursday of each month from 6-8. See Nikki with any interest or
questions. THANKS!

CHANGE FOR ALASKA – Remember to drop your coins and dollars in the
Alaska Change jars in the narthex! Instructions are in the narthex.

THE SPECIAL OFFERING FOR MAY is designated for the GRACE
SCHOLARSHIP FUND. This offering will be received on June 3.

UNCOVER EVIDENCE and learn the truth about Jesus at THE QUEST FOR
TRUTH VBS - JUNE 11-15! As we explore Holy Land sites kids will
hear amazing Bible Stories, take Bible challenges, make artifacts, eat
yummy snacks, play fun games, sing awesome songs, and more! Sign
up to be a part of this exciting event! See Darrell if you have any
questions.


NEEDED! VBS DECORATING ITEMS! Please check out your basements,
garages, etc for items we can use to decorate for VBS this year. Some
items needed are: painter’s canvas, Styrofoam, poster boards,
shovels, crates, milk crates, plastic pool, pottery, baskets, treasure
chests, lawn chairs, thick rope, blankets….On the narthex table is a
picture of the look we will be attempting to copy! PLEASE SIGN UP
OR CALL DARRELL to let him know what you have THIS WEEK! We
will need to be purchasing some items needed that will not be
donated very soon.


ALSO…FOOD ITEMS that will be needed for the snack are listed on the
narthex table. This has worked so well in the past and really saves on
our VBS budget! Donations can be brought to the church kitchen.
