TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All kids ages 3

 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.

 

TODAY WE WELCOME Rev. Don Van Slyke to our pulpit.  Pastor

 Don is serving as Pastor of Congregational Care and Community

 Outreach at Hudsonville Reformed Church.  Prior to this roll he

 served as Senior Pastor there for 18 years. Thank you for being with

 us and leading our service this Lord’s day.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory room following the morning service.  All are welcome. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

SUNDAYS AT SIX – We will be meeting at Faith Reformed

 Church tonight!  Rev. Harvey Hertz will share the message. 

 

6:45 – 8:00 pm Y-LIFE will meet.

IN APPRECIATION – We just want to say “Thank You” to our Grace

 family for your thoughts, cards, prayers and visits during our

 father and grandfather’s illness and passing to his eternal home in

 Heaven.  A very special thank you to Pastor Rick and Donna for

 their special visit and prayers with my family.  We truly are part of

 a special Grace family.

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

COINS FOR KIDS – Our SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of

 May is designated for Coins for Kids, Grand Rapids Right to Life. 

 Extra baby bottles are available in the narthex for you to collect coins. 

 Profits benefit Grand Rapids Right to Life and local pregnancy

 agencies that provide material support to women and families facing

 unplanned pregnancies.  Small change can make a BIG difference!  In

 the month of May you can work to fill up your bottles.  We will collect

 them on May 29, or you can turn them into the office prior to that. 

 

DISCOVERY KIDZ volunteers needed for MAY!  See Heather, or sign

 up on the narthex table.
 

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER – May 5, 12:00 Noon “Wake Up

 America” (based on Isaiah 58:1) at Grace Bible College, 1101 Aldon

 St. SW.  This will be about a 1 hour service followed by lunch.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We thank God for the ministry of Rev. Don Van Slyke.
  • We are so thankful today for the freedom we have in his country to worship freely. 
  • We pray for the leaders of this country and especially as election time is coming up, we pray for God’s leading.
  • We pray today for our Discovery Kidz.  May they all come to know and love Jesus.  We pray for Heather as she leads them.
  • We pray for Pastor George and Connections. We pray for the youth and adults that attend each week. 
  • Please remember in your prayers those who have recently lost loved ones. 
  • Please be in prayer for Joshua Sawyer who has joined the Navy and is now at the Great Lakes Naval Station. 
  • Please continue to be in prayer for Shirley De Bruin as she undergoes chemotherapy.
  • We pray for Sally Herrema as her leg heals up and she undergoes therapy. 
  • We continue to keep Tymie Boeve in our prayers.  We pray for understanding, encouragement, continued healing and strength.
  • Continue to remember Karen Ver Hulst in your prayers.
  • Please keep Brent Kerkstra, son of Paul, in your prayers.  Prayers for a complete return to health and wellness.
  • Please remember Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer. 
  • Please continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey.
