DISCOVERY KIDZ will not meet today!  Children are invited to sit

 with their parents in the sanctuary.


OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of May is designated

 for a Grace Mission Trip to Jackson County Ministries tentatively

 scheduled for September.  This offering will be received today.


A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.



 for the season.  Class will resume in the fall.


5:00 PM YOU ARE INVITED to attend a combined Memorial Day

 service at Beverly Reformed Church (2141 Porter SW., Wyoming). 

 Note the 5:00 start time!  This will take the place of our evening

 service at Grace.




HEALTH CONCERNS – Esther Hoag is home and doing well after

 surgery on her hand.  For all other prayer requests and praise

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to John & Della

 Sawyer and Luke & Janell Nordlund upon the death of John &

 Janell’s father, Gerald Sawyer, on May 16 at the age of 80. Services

 were held Thursday, May 22 at Remembrance Church.





TUESDAY, MAY 27, 2014






Next Sunday Pastor Rick will continue the series of messages “I WANT

 TO TESTIFY” with the message:  “The Testimony of Jesus”.  We

 will also celebrate our GRADUATES who will be graduating from

 Discovery Kidz as well as those graduating from High School and

 College. For our evening service we will meet at Beverly Reformed

 Church for the Installation Service for Rev. Mark Drane.  This service

 will begin at  5:00 pm.


5:30 – 8:15 pm Y-LIFE will meet.  This is our last meeting for the

 summer!  Come hungry!




Wednesday, June 4, 9:30 am KITCHEN INVENTORY and

 CLEANING day.  We will go out for lunch when the job is done!

Sunday, June 8 – PENTECOST SUNDAY!  Our special offering is


 which is an RCA offering for new churches in our classis.  Our

 offering will be designated for CONNECTIONS.  For our evening

 service, we will join together at Faith Reformed Church for a

 Pentecost service. 


June 9-12, 6:00 – 8:15 pm VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 

 The theme this year is  “FUN FAIR – WHERE GOD’S WORLD

 COMES TOGETHER!”  Check out the donation board located in

 the back of church.  Volunteer spots are still available.  Please take a

 look at the sign up sheets on the narthex table and find a place where

 you can help!


July 17, 6:15 pm FELLOWSHIP TEAM OUTING to the Picnic Pops

 to see “A Tribute to the Beatles”.  The show starts at 7:30 pm.  $15.00

 per person.  Sign up in the narthex so tickets can be purchased!




THE NEXT GALAXY will soon be published.  This is the edition that

 highlights our graduates.  Please turn in your articles by May 29th to

 Sandy Gort or Pat Ter Beek. 


NEEDED FOR VBS:  T-SHIRTS!  100 used, clean (no stains or rips)

 adult size small and up.  Clean out your closets!!  You can drop them

 off in the kitchen or at the youth desk. 



 Tentative plans are being made to go to Jackson County Ministries in

 Annville, Kentucky in September.  The date that is available is

 September 12-19.  If you are interested in hearing more about this, or

 if this date is good and would work for you, see or call Larry

 Kleymeer (534-5146).


COOKIE DONATIONS NEEDED! Once again we will have cookies

 and coffee on the patio during the summer months.  If you would be

 willing to bake cookies for this time, please sign up on the sheet in

 the narthex.  You will be called to schedule your time.  If you have

 any questions, please see Tymie Boeve.  Reminder…our church is

 PEANUT FREE.  Thanks!


PARKING LOT PAVING – Our parking lot is scheduled to be paved

 the week of June 15.  It will be completely tore up and repaved.  So

 keep that in mind as you will be making plans.  If you would like to

 help fund this major project, donations will be welcomed!  Just

 designate “Building Fund” on your offering envelope.



 opportunity once again to make up care kits for Church World

 Service.  This will also be designated as the MISSION PROJECT

 for VBS this year.  We would like to collect as much as possible

 ahead of time, then the children will contribute and assemble the kits.

 We will be collecting for the Hygiene Kits.  Needed are: hand towels

 (16 x 28), washcloth, wide tooth comb, nail clippers, bath size bar of

 soap (in individual wrapper) toothbrush (in packaging), band-aids

 (standard size), one gallon plastic zip lock bag. Boxes will be placed at

 the entrances for your donations.  Thank you!


CHURCH WORLD SERVICE (CWS) Learn and Serve Bus Trip

 to New Windsor, MD and Gettysbury PA November 3 – 7. 

 This is a hands on, educational mission opportunity volunteering in

 the warehouse where CWS kits and blankets are collected, packed,

 and shipped to those in need.  You will also learn about fair trade and

 life changing work of SERRV as you volunteer in the international

 gift shop.  More information is available on the narthex.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We thank and praise God today for the freedom we enjoy in this country and the men and women who fought for those freedoms. 
  • We pray for Heather Dood as she prepares for this year’s Vacation Bible School.  We pray for those who may be thinking of volunteering, and the children that will come.
  • We remember Esther Hoag in our prayers following hand surgery.
  • Prayers are offered today for those who have recently lost loved ones.  In particular we pray for the Sawyer and Nordlund families.
  • There are many friends and family of our church members that need your prayers this week.  Please continue to pray for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey.  Also, Barb, friend of Della Sawyer, undergoing chemotherapy; Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer; and Caitlin, friend of Abbey Licari, diagnosed with Leukemia.
  • We pray for all those who are serving in the military.  Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink,Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.




As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write them down and include them in your prayers for our congregation this week. Please keep the church informed of your prayer needs and praise reports.
