TODAY WE WELCOME Rev. Cecil Martens who will lead our service

 and share the message.  Thank you for being with us this Lord’s day!

 

DISCOVERY KIDZ will NOT meet today! 

 

MOMENT FOR MISSION – Pastor Martens will share with us about

 his friend Godwin Idogo.  If after hearing about him you would like to

 contact him with words of encouragement, call the office and we will

 give you his information. 

 

OUR SPECIAL MUSIC this morning is presented by the Music

 Connection of Connections.  We thank you all for being here today

 and the special number you are sharing with us!

 

COINS FOR KIDS – Our SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of

 May is designated for Coins for Kids, Grand Rapids Right to Life. 

 Thank you to everyone who has been collecting coins this month! 

 You may bring your bottles forward during the regular offering. 

 Cash donations may be put in the collection plate in the front as well. 

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory room following the morning service.  All are welcome. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

6:00 PM JOINT EVENING WORSHIP – We will be meeting at

 Beverly Reformed Church (2141 Porter) tonight for worship

 with our sister churches! 

 

CALENDAR OF THE WEEK

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1, 2016

6:30 – 9:00 PM CHURCH CLEAN UP – Our Grace Youth Groups 

 are sponsoring a clean up day!  Many and all are welcome!!  Bring 

 rakes and gloves.

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the series “You Better

 Believe It” with the message: “I Believe in Offering My Time”.  We

 will meet at Beverly Reformed Church for our evening service.

HEALTH CONCERNS – Sandy Workman continues at Clark Home

 on Franklin Street SE after falling and breaking her collar bone. 

 Bob Tofferi is at Mary Free Bed working to regain his strength.

  • Facilities Team:  The parking lot is in the process of being worked on.
  • Mission & Outreach:  A motion was made to have the following Special Offerings

  • Executive Committee:  Pastor Rick is in the mentoring phase (5 weeks) of Heather Dood’s Commissioned Pastor Program. A Faith Based Decision Seminar was held for the Wyoming RCA Churches.

Prayers & Praise Line

May 29, 2016

 

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We thank and praise God today for the freedom we enjoy in this country and the men and women who fought for that freedom.
  • We pray today for the work of Grand Rapids Right to Life.  We thank God today for all those who are working to protect the precious gift of human life.
  • We pray for safety for those who are traveling this holiday weekend.
  • Thinking today of our youth as they finish up the last days of the school year.  We thank God for teachers and a safe place to learn.
  • We pray for Pastor George and Connections and for the youth and adults that attend each week. We pray for Connections as they gear up for the work of summer block parties. 
  • Remember Sandy Workman in your prayers.  Pray for freedom from the pain she is experiencing and rapid healing. 
  • We pray today for Bob Tofferi.  We pray that he may experience continued  strengthening.
  • We thank and praise God that Pastor Rick’s mother was able to return to her home at Maple Creek Terraces. 
  • Continue to lift up Josh Sawyer in prayer as he is at the Great Lakes Naval Station for A School. 
  • Please continue to be in prayer for Shirley De Bruin as she undergoes chemotherapy.
  • We pray for Sally Herrema as she continues therapy on her leg.
  • We continue to keep Tymie Boeve in our prayers.  We pray for understanding, encouragement, continued healing and strength.
  • Continue to remember Karen Ver Hulst in your prayers.
  • We ask for lots of prayers for Wes Dekker’s sister, Janet.  She has had a setback due to recent surgery.  She is at Holland Hospital. 
  • Please keep Brent Kerkstra, son of Paul, in your prayers.  Prayers for a complete return to health and wellness.
  • Please continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Betty Figueroa, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris, Mr. Jim Friar.
